here you can see clearly the underground grunge roots of PJ. The sound has similarity to other bands of the period (end of 80ies) but it is more melodic, even though more noisy than later
This was months before they took on the Mookie Blaylock moniker. I labeled the video tape as: "Stone Gossard/Jeff Ament Post Love Bone Project - Off Ramp Cafe, Seattle WA 10/22/90".
This was their 1st ever performance. Between this soundcheck and the start of the show I had an opportunity to chat with Eddie - he was actually pretty sick, toting around a box of Kleenex. When I asked them how long they had been together he drew a long, contemplative breath and finally said: "six days..., this being the sixth".
Yeah, my best friend and I filmed this show. If you can believe it they opened up for my band call Lazy-F. We were both BIG Mother Lovebone fans. Still are. Some years later my asshole roommate Erin Anderson ripped it off. That's right his name is Erin Anderson. That's how all of you bastards have copies. You can thank Mike Zimmerman and Mark Riley for preserving this piece of rock history for everyone to enjoy.
!!! Still pinching myself. I'm in heaven. Discovered Youtube 3 days ago and the only search i've done is "pearljam". If petemd's comment is true (and it's believable !) I just found the holy grail. LONG time PJ fan....stuck in Australia....thankyou soooooo much for allowing me to see these gems jamhot....lowlight03....etc etc ! Neeeeext please.
Dude(?) Here's how I did it recently. I just put up "once" from this vid by filtering the .mpeg into a .avi. I then used Virtual Dub to break it into segments (using added filters to remove noise and synch the audio/video). The final product, which realtime, and now on YT, is soooo much better, was done using the DivX codec processor. I have also used Adobe Premiere, but that's a little more involved. Good luck and thanks for sharing your stuff! Vin
who is the old man who is playing the guitar and you can see him all the video?..
