Sweet vid! that being said gold fish are bad for Any piranha do to copper sulfate it can causes vitamin problems... I feed platies and other fish such as tilapia fliats it make take him a while to get used to it but my Rhom loves them. took two weeks I only feed live once in a while. I would also take most of the decour out as elongs like alot of space and add a power head he will love it!!!!!

On the other side of things, you have a very nice looking tank :) We recently got ourselves a 45 gallon, and since it came with occupants already living in it, getting a piranha just isn't the way to go for us yet.

@Iawyn legit. 45t is a nice tank to get starting. i just moved out of my parents house. so i'm actually rockin a 40 gallon tank at the moment. piranhas aren't really a good fish to own to be honest, community tanks are much more entertaining to watch, and much less expensive to feed. piranhas are pretty much only fun to tease or feed. otherwise they're too skidish and not that entertaining.

@tobychris I'm not gonna lie, our fish are pretty entertaining at the moment, although I think it's a little overstocked right now. One of the coolest fish we have is a black ghost knife. We call him Specter, and he's just so fascinating to watch with the way he swims. There's four apple snails as well, and they're just as entertaining with their suicide dives lol

I just didn't have feeders, but i did have a tank full of baby labs, that my local petstore didn't want because they still had some of my last batch.

@zachariahh3933 I would not reccomend doing that, they might cohabitate for a couple days or weeks. but your fish will start disappearing, and theirs a good chance the cichlids might kill the piranha if it's smaller. I wouldnt reccomend keeping them together, maybe two different tanks right next to each other.

I bought 2 RBPs about 2 years ago they're getting big and red, but they are much more laid back and shier than your Elongatus. Sometimes when I give them a goldfish though they just rip it to shreds and don't eat it.. I guess they get their aggression out, as long as its not on each other!

@tobychris Hey Dickhead - I did look this fish up, and they're fine eating Flakes, Pellets and Frozen Brine shrimp. I also know that this particular fish is NOT the most aggressive - in fact, they are very shy and passive. Of course, if you starve one long enough - or ONLY feed it meat - that's what they get accustom too. You should also know that most Piranah keepers suggest you NOT buy one for the thrill of it eating other fish. Thats why its sick.

@xtraflo i've been keeping fish for about ten fucking years now. i breed african cichlids and sell them to my local pet store. you really have no idea how much i know about fish. my fish is not shy, he chases fingers along the glass, and comes up to the side of the tank to greet me when i enter the room. elong is not most aggressive, but is in the top 5 (good luck finding the others for sale)most aggressive piranhas, there are probably at least 50 species of piranha.
