The remote is for the speakers. If you want to pause your itunes, you have to use your mac remote. The pause on the speaker remote only works if you have an iPod plugged into the system.

Meh, these speakers suck anyways... I mean, yes, of course they sound good, but they sound too "bose"...

Focal makes great monitors, these speakers shoud retail for $250-300 for what they offer...

@pogodrummer I have both the Companion 5 series made by Bose and the Focal XS. After breaking in the Focal speakers, they blow the Bose away. The Focal system is way more balanced and richer in sound. Bose is just loud. However, I will say this: when it comes to watching movies, the Bose can get significantly louder. Nevertheless, without the Focal subwoofer balancing out the Bose, the Bose simply does not provide enough bass to balance out the Bose's tweeters.

The HOLE is a ports,this is a bass reflex(ported) bass module. The HUGE speaker is very small for a "sub" . HUGE sub...compared with tiny 2.1 systems. As far as subs go the bass unit is TINY.

The system is quite good quality, FOCAL makes great drivers and ...speakers for home and studio monitors.
