@MrOlekul one is a set trigger to lighten the main trigger pull ,so you can go from a 6 pound trigger to a 3 pound trigger.

@MrOlekul no it will still go boom if you dont set the first trigger. it just changes the trigger pull weight.

I have the same gun only mines the 50 cal flint lock, I love love love this rifle take it with me every year hunting moose cant say enouph good things about lyman or the great black powder rifles they make

it is actual walnut! Lyman uses walnut on all there black powder rifles

I've had a .54 cal GPR for 12 years now. A 1 in 60 twist for round ball but seems to like the 415gr minie balls I cast. With 80 grs of Pyrodex P it has a muzzle velocity of 1740 fps with round balls. Heavy hitting. These are great guns and certainly fun to shoot.

So you can put up to 95 grains of powder in it and what works better a round ball or a powerbelt

@4idahohunters this one has 1:32 twist better for bullets .not bad with roundball ,but more for bullets .ive shot100 grain but thats overcharge ,best with 70-80 grains ,on mine anyway.

@notregme ive shot some 405 grainers abd the only hit 2" lower at 70yards then the 200 177 grain round balls. if you can see it you can hit it with this rifle for sure.ya 70- 80 grains of powder seems just right for mine as well.
