@yoyo0isawsome What do you mean by looking at the geforce in the Pc. If you mean which model it is then you can either press the windows + pause button. in the opening window click on performance index and in that window you can choose tp print it where you get the details displayed. there should be your graphics card listed. Or just go to the device manager and look in display adapters. downloading gpu-z is also a good thing.

Most of the PC games I play, I hack in 2 to 3 times more units then I'm suppose to have so I'm making plans on getting a better rig. I remember I time when I use to have to turn off shadows to get the games to play smooth.

@MRbombonel Sorry, I don't really know too much about PC specs. I do know playing this game with the default # of troops with Ultra settings can be too much for the average rig. This is what I know about my rig, Intel2 Quad running a Geforce 9800.

Yes, as far as this game is beautiful so many of her blunders. Difficult to control troops in addition, even giving the order they would not immediately carry out. Multiplayer is another story. As I'm about an hour unable to connect to play online. In addition to stimulation of any emotions! And it seems not I have one.

Shogun 2 Total War is said to have 56,000 men on the field at once and NTW has a max of 45,000 thats a big increase in less than a year on the same engine.

I hope you're not buying into their BS marketing.

The theoretical limit is 56,000 men but I don't think even they tested it.

If you play on Ultra you'll see between 3500-6000 men in an army, and if unit multiplier still exists you'll be able to go higher, but don't expect a decent frame rate even on a good PC.

@undertakercorfuland2 yeah, there is a bit but with over 10,000 guys moving, shooting, fighting, explosions, smoke, trees, grass and other stuff it plays pretty well. If you want to see lag watch Napoleon: Total War "Naval Power", there's some lag.

@12345668587 for this battle I used the Esf Editor. At that time it dealt with saved games mostly. Now I use the PackFileManager. With the PFM you can tweak all kinds of stuff. Of course its harder to use. You can find both of them at the TotalWarCenter site. If you don't want to mess with the Editor there is a way to change something in one of the game files that gives all factions bigger units.

@123systemlord if I read your question right, you can go bigger. I had a unit with 50,000 guys. I think the game has a default on how many soldiers can be displayed cause when I tried to see the whole unit not all of them could be seen. Also you have to have a real beefy rig to handle Tens of thousands. My rig can handle just a little more then 10,000 without much lag.
