I just have to ask, can we really only film upto 12 mins maximum oer take?? I'm thinkin of buying it, but how can anyone handle filming so little...can't anything be done about it??
@Phersephoie Very very rarely does a film ever do a take longer than 12 minutes. Most films do short, 30 second - several minute takes at most.
Only if you're trying to shoot a live event would this even be a concern, in which case you'll need a video camera, or offset shoot with two DSLRs and cut back and forth.
Oh I'm sure Ill get crap for this but I had it on the pvr to check it out for cinematograpghy reasons. I think it looked bad. The super16 stuff looks way better than this and is even more future-proofed. That aside, handheld movement hides a lot of deficiencies in an image because of the constant movement. Anyway, I know there are so many out there excited to shoot with the camera and that's great, this is just my opinion. I would also suggest to those people to shoot one thing in super16.
@bratboyy2k Im sorry to say this but film is dead my friend... when it comes down to it using a super 16 cost to much and with that same amount you will spend on a super16mm you can have at least 2 or 3 DSLR camera and ready to edit on the same day. Its all about Fast and cheap while looking good. Even my film idol Robert Rodriguez is getting into the DSLR cameras
At the end where the camera pans over the collapsed... uuhh bridge was it? It looked super handheld there. It's understandable, but when you're saying the DSLR is better than regular video cameras, you need to not show handheld video too much, unless you're going for that.
Makes you wonder why they choose the 5D instead of the 7D right? I mean, I've been looking for comparisons EVERYWHERE but by knowing THIS I finally made my choice!
@ALPHADESIGNTAMPICO I think the choice came from the fact that the 5D is full frame (24x36). So I gess the look and feel is closer to the cameras they usually use.
@thioclark Can't wait to begin make some short films with my baby 5D mark II :)
