  • The Jehucal bulla is not the only inscription found that is directly related to the Davidic dynasty. In 1982, the late Yigal Shiloh found a collection of 53 bullae located at the bottom of the Stepped Stone Structure, just below the palace platform Dr. Mazar has been excavating. One bulla from Shiloh’s collection was inscribed with the Hebrew name, “Gemariah son of Shaphan,” who is mentioned in Jeremiah 36:10.

  • Within the palace, Dr. Mazar also found a bulla bearing the inscription, “Jehucal, son of Shelemiah.” He is mentioned in Jeremiah 37 and 38 as being a royal officer in the court of King Zedekiah, the last king of Judah to rule in Jerusalem.

  • @imaginedwriter Sorry boy- they have found In 1993, a team of archaeologists digging in northern Israel uncovered a ninth-century b.c. stone tablet bearing a clear reference to the “House of David” and “King of Israel.” The author of the inscription boasts of having defeated both the king of Israel and the king of Judah—the latter monarch being a descendant of the “House of David.”

  • @ScoutGrenadier these idiots said Sauls claim to the throne was stronger than Davids since Saul was anointed by GOD, according to the Bible. Well the Bible also says that Saul disobeyed GOD,and HE sent the prophet Samuel to tell Saul that GOD woud annoint another in his place. Then GOD sent Samuel to find the youngest son of Jessie-David-and anoint him in Sauls place wich Samuel did. Glad to see I'm not the only one who is disgusted by this half-truth. Comparing David to a mafia Don-IDIOTS

  • It is their homeland Israel.... lets jjust ignore the fact that they are invading ethnic cleansers.

American's look with shifty eyes and shuffle their feet.

  • David never fucking existed. He's a legendary figure nothing more. Another bs programme from History channel.

  • Rofl, because we all know how much truth is in the bible ...

  • they have left out so many things, eventually it amounts to a bunch of lies that they are presenting, If you read your Bible, you will be able to point out all the lies presented in this video.

  • @wirungari You're absolutely right. There's alot of assumption that in this documentary that really adds up to nothing as far as history is concerned. It's just speculation. I could speculate alot of things, but it's still just that.

  • We all mistakes, king David paid for he's mistakes & he became righteous from then on, We have all made mistakes, if God forgives you, move on, who has the right to condemn you? King David is still one of the Best Kings in History, don't tarnish his memory please.

  • The bible is not an accurate historical document, because it does not correlate with archaeological evidence or with the records of states and civilizations which existed at the same time.

rather the Bible is a combination of interpretations, which are designed to provided ethical and moral guidance...and political propaganda by the peoples of the region, to portray them as greater than they actually were and their enemies less than they were.

  • @alteradzy Not meaning to offend, just thought I might quote what a prominant archaeologist once said about the Bible. As student going for my BA in archaeology, I agree with him after researching the Bible for myself. Peace! "It can be stated categorically that no archaeological discovery has ever controverted a biblical reference. Scores of archaeological findings have been made which confirm in clear outline, or exact detail, the historical statements in the Bible."

    ~Dr. Nelson Glueck

  • I like this documentary (being an archaeology major with a focus in ancient conflict, myself), but like many of you, I notice that these "historians" make alot of assumptions and leave out important details For example: They didn't mention that David killed the messenger who brought him Saul's crown or that David mourned Saul's death, they never mention that David and Jonathan were close friends, and they sorta twisted the reason why Joab killed Abner (Abner killed his brother), ect. ect.

  • Good stuff.

  • The "historians" on this show are idiots.

The Bible is a hstorical document, but they are trying to rewrite it.

  • @sangwichesrule

the bible is NOT a historical document,it is a book full of emotional texts meant to play with the minds of the easily fooled ones.

a native book vs people who actually do their research...yeah i can definetly see the bible topping them off.

  • @ILoveRavenc Aaalright, buddy. I guess we'll see on the judgement day. Don't say I didn't try.

  • @ILoveRavenc how you know its not a fact of historical events an if thats the case all info that has been written can be debunked being as though we have no visual proof

  • I really like this show's idea of using the Bible as a historical document about war and battles. Thank You for posting it.

  • I'm glad this got reposted.....Thank you
