The decision not to date a paraplegic is not superficial, it is highly practical. If a person is a paraplegic they cannot go dancing, they cannot play sports with the kids, it is harder to do household chores. These are among the reasons that people who are paraplegic have fewer sexual opportunities. This is not discrimination, that just the way that life is. If a man who is overweight has trrouble getting women we do not call that discrimination. Women simply find him less sexually attractive.
