  • amazing great job

  • you have to be more delicate with this piece because it's a piece written for natural trumpet and the sonority you're using is too big and sharp.has to be a more mellow and sweet sound.but great sound and technique...good luck

  • Why are people such freaking jerks. Give this kid a break. He's only 17. I'm 17 also and learning this song, and I find it quite difficult at some parts.

  • 3:24, Beautiful.

  • isn't the first movement a little bit too fast?

  • actually its too much fast... you cant enjoy the piece in that speed...

  • yanksfan:

you're either a stuffed up snob (so common and so sad in the music world) or too insecure about your own inadequacies to offer anything useful but self-reaffirming negativity.

    Ryan:

great sound and great execution. keep it up. some of the crescendos are a little too exaggerated for this style. i'm impressed

  • That French horn player is hoorible!!!

  • your sound is lacking a little bit. There is a couple wrong notes in this piece. I'm a little disappointed in this performance. LACKING PERFORMANCE! I'm extremely disappointed as a matter of fact.

  • No need to be so negative. Very difficult to go through this piece at his age and make no mistakes. Give the guy a break, for his age he is playing very very well

  • amazing, great job

  • Wow! Great tone. What trumpet and mouthpiece do you use?

  • i dont think u want to use this kids mouthpiece before he washes it out.

  • worst joke i ever heard. even among musicians who are not known from their humor :D

  • you play very good you have great sound realey nice

  • oh he didn go for the high E flat!

  • not bad, could do much better staccato wise, and good job near the end of the first movement.

  • IT'S IS SHITE. IT'S FUBAR NOTES

  • 4:45-4:49

    Best part of it all

  • He's no good as Mendez....He's very slow....

  • :D awesome :D

  • awsome job... it'll take me some years before i can play like this. XD. nice though... loved it =D

  • I've played the 1st and 3rd movements of this piece and they are pretty difficult. I agree with mjunverisal...you do tend to drag a lot throughout the whole piece. Sometimes you over accent some notes as well. Overall...you did an okay job.

  • A smile came to my face when that last movement came up because I remember seeing the video of Rafael Mendez playing it.

Really good. I wish I could play something like this but I guess I'm just gonna have to practice more :)

A few flaws but I can only call them out on the last movement because I've only heard Rafael Mendez play it and he is a god on trumpet.

  • well done......make your interpretation, not a miniwynton version!

  • Beautiful tone. Technique is acquired. Exceptional tone is a gift.

  • 1st Movement- you are dragging all over the beginning. Minor timing issues throughout the piece, messed up the sixteenth note lick near the end pretty bad ( I'm sure you knew that already). Good ending, i have heard a few different ones, yours is one of the best versions, and you played it very well. Congratulations, good performance.

  • nice

    well done

  • I thought Mr Svendsen did just fine. I love the sound he gets from his trumpet.

  • slur the 16ths at the end of the 1st its easier

  • that was clever, lowering the octave of the eighth notes up to the Eb. Leaves enough lip for the next two movements. Trumpet concertos can take a lot out of you.

  • amazing job, ive made the stand on stage with this exact song so i know how u feel when u chip those notes a few measures before 9, question- i play (in mv3 two after 17) the flips different than u did, can u lay out the notes of which u played? and if u can, i did like your cadenzas ;-)

  • Truly amazing for a someone of such a young age. Triplets in the first movement were flawless, and the sixteenth notes are extremely hard, so they just need a tad bit of work... I guess that'll come with practice... beautiful tone quality and PERFECT vibrato~~~~~~~~~~.

  • nice solo have you already tried a european trumpet?

i think this concert is much more beautiful to play on a european trumpet!

  • thats leo eylar!!!

  • wow fuck off with his releases they are fine

  • nice job, awesome even though i hate california, i dont think haydn could have thought of a more intimidating way to introduce the solo, for the trumpet player, but it is awesome so ill take it

  • haha. found you sven.

  • Nice performance, though I'd be careful with the musicality of the dynamics and releases. But you have a very nice sound!

  • very nice!

  • It is only the high Bb (in bar 110) (on Eb Trumpet) but yes 3x Eb on Bb Trumpet

    Nice job anyway...

  • the best is triple Eb

  • What trumpet do you play on?

  • aww no high Eb? pretty good man. keep working on it

  • I really pitty the string players in the last movement ^^

This is one of my favourite classical pieces. Brilliant playing, and thanks!

  • GREAT PLAYING, a little more practice and it'll be perfect. Wish i owned my own trumpet...

  • there are tendencies to slow down in some areas, and there are incorrect articulations here and there. not bad ^_^

  • really good!!! have you watched the video of wynton playing this?

  • are you playing on a Bb or Eb?

very nice job. Great work on the 1st movement..and even though you messed up on the sixteenth run, you kept going. Nice

Guess you got a little bit tired by the 3rd movement though

    but great job

  • Make sure you push through your trills and check the articulation in a few places. Some stuff was slurred when it should have been tongued. Great performance, nice full sound on the low notes!

  • Hehe yeah shame that you didn't go for the Eb 3 in the first movement!

Other than that, I thought it was an absolutely brilliant performance!

Awesome cadenza too: did you write that yourself?

Finally your tone is incredibly good: well done!

  • aww u didnt play the D3:P (in b)

    played D2 insteadxD

  • is that a lip slur at 2:40 i cant see his fingers... hmm

  • Don't think it's a slur....

  • Its taken a little fast but still good. Violin players are shredding away. lol

  • I liked it very much. Congratulations!

  • The only thing you really need to work on, is the phrasing, which can be a lot cleaner and in a better Haydn style. Having said that, you did a pretty good job!!

  • I Am Working On This Right Now...I Played The 3rd Movement Last Month At A Concert, and I Am Working On The 1st and 2nd For March. I Only Have A Piano To Play With, Not A Symphony!!

  • The 1st movement was good.

    The 2nd too.

The third... i think its good.

  • A few mistakes, but good overall.

  • absolutely awesome!
