I fitted a Stetsbar to my SG a few months ago. It was easy to do. The only modification was to cut a bit out of the finger board around the bridge. It stays in tune, unlike this guys flying V. Mind you I don't think it was tuned properly before he started. I would recommend a nut lubricant on any guitar with a tremolo. My Stetsbar cost £175 plus post & package. I think they've gone up a bit but a nice bit of kit. I would recommend the Stetsbar.
@Richard56er hey, I've got an SG too (Epiphone SG-400)... in your opinion it would be good to get some locking tuners instead of changing the nut with a graphite one? I'm asking because I'd like to get a Stetsbar too
@wlunalovegood92 You shouldn't have to change anything. All I did was put some of the nut sauce (supplied) in the grooves of the nut. Alternatively you could work some pencil graphite into the grooves. This allows the strings to glide through and to remain in tune. I'd try the Stetsbar in place before you replace your tuners or nut for locking ones.

@wlunalovegood92 The answer is yes. You will need to cut a piece out behind the bridge pickup. My Gibson has the 'Bat wing' pickguard. Before removing the pickguard put some masking tape on it behind the bridge pick up, screw the Stetsbar into position then draw a line around it onto the masking tape. Remove the Stetsbar and pickguard, you'll have to remove the pickups from the pickguard as well, then neatly cut out the section of pickguard. Just be careful.
@Richard56er sorry but I think you misunderstood: my SG has the bat wing pickguard too, just like the Gibson SG '61 Reissue, are you really sure that I'll have to cut away a piece of pickguard? And I haven't understood why I would have to remove the pickups during the installation
@wlunalovegood92 What's there to misunderstand? Have you actually got a Stetsbar yet? I suggest you have a good look at where it fits. You'll soon figure out that the pickguard will need to be trimmed for the Stetsbar to fit. You should remove the pickups from the pickguard to enable you to do the trimming on a work bench. If you want to do the trimming with everything still on then you risk damage. If you don't want to trim it then fit a Bigsby, but then you'll have to drill holes in the body.
@Richard56er some days ago I finally got my Stetsbar, payed about 215€ (265$) included the spedition from England to Italy. Maybe thanks to the "Pro II" version, but I didn't have to cut away anything! I put a little grease for brass instruments (my french horn, my other love) on the nut, and it works great!!! sure thing :) yes, it is very easy to put on. its been at least a year since i've actually had mine on... but i remember it stayed in tune rather well. the fender trems as i remember only bend down... so i assume they stay in tune better. the stetsbar bends both ways like a floyd. and it should be GREAT on an sg :)

i believe so. but its hard for me to say really, because i've had some guitar techs claim that my neck may be warped on that guitar...so that may actually be the cause of buzzing, or short notes. so not really 100% sure on that one bro srry. but the range of the trem itself is excellent imo and can also be adjusted. if my neck was the cause of that shit, then the trem is legit.

I'd really, REALLY recommend seeing a psychologist about your fascination with penises and testicles.

Nice pickguard. Did you get that separately from the Flying V? Also, isn't there a bit of a gap between the Stetsbar and the body of the guitar because of the pickguard?

ty, and yeah i had to order it online. there was a gap there yes, when i had my white pickguard on, thats y i bought this one so i had collateral when i was carving out the section for it and get a lil creative too :) but in the vid the stetsbar is right up against the wood like it should be.
