OK. After seeing some videos and reading up on Azerbaijan, I got curious. Is this a good place for a holiday, do the people enjoy interacting with travellers, do they speak English/German/French or any other "universal" language, has it become more expensive to go there since the expansion of the oil industry, hey guys, help me out with some useful information here!

@rastanswibbo Actually Azerbaijan is the best place for holidays! :) The Baku streets become so shiny in holidays, especially in christmas and novruz.

Yes, all Azerbaijanis know Russian and Turkish languages, and most of the young people know English in addition.

I think the prices are the same with Europe, even cheaper.

i think the expression "azeri culture" is a little over the top and not really authentic.everyone knows that there is no such thing as an azeri culture.your language is turkish and your culture is persian and that includes architecture and art. your a mixture of turkic tribes from central asia and persian culture.dont try too hard

if you say that our culture is persian, you should then admit that your culture is arabic. no sense, huh?

out culture is azerbaijani, which is quite distinct. yes, it has been influenced by the cultures of neighbouring nations (persian/tat/talyush, daghestani/lezgi, georgian, kurdish, as well as russian and arabic), but it is still local and unique.
