First of all, you're teaching very badly how to play it, since that's not even how it goes, and also, it's not called "Ode To Joy", Ode To Joy is the poem written in German by Frederic Schiller, not Beethoven. What you're playing is the melody to Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, or his "Choral Symphony". Why people call it Ode To Joy is beyond me, not sure how it started, but I can make a good guess. It was probably some stupid idiot who started calling it that, and eventually everybody did...

Of course I knew that, but it's still not called Ode to Joy...the poem is, which is something separate, sure he put it in there, but that doesn't mean because he put it there, it's called Ode to Joy. The name is just Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, that's it. Or maybe, the Choral symphony..but not Ode to Joy..Ode to Joy just makes yourself sound like one of those little 5 year olds learning that really easy version with the C and G chords.
