  • Can anyone tell me if my female can still lay eggs, she is 6 yrs old

  • nice , i have 2 females

  • I loved seeing them grow and get pretty. Are both the babies female? It's so hard to tell. I have a 4-year-old single female cockatiel and have been thinking of letting her breed. She's had one infertile clutch so far, and keeps trying to do it again. Congrats on your sweet and healthy birds.

  • One thing I cannot say about baby birds is that they're cute when they're really young. Sure, after a month they are, but they go through a lot of awkward growth stages very quickly lol

  • "Alright, lets not celebrate by making out with this disabled pigeon." BWAAHAHAHA. So. Funny.

  • Cute ending! I love how you play the ominous music when you show mocha!

  • Unbelieveable, beautiful video.

  • I've read that the male is suppose to help. Mine became more aggressive and we had to separate them. He would peck at her to get out of the box and then would not sit on them. So he's been banned. Lol. She has seed and millet. Someone said to wet wheat bread with milk. She likes spinach leaves. I'm going to get some pellets tomorrow. Pet store sells them for mom to feed babies. Hope she handle it by herself. We work full time and our clutch was a surprise.

  • This is awesome! The subtitles are nice too! The baby cockatiels are so cute!

  • I love this video!!

  • Awesome video! Thanks for sharing it!

  • This is such a beautiful video, and you're very talented. Your cockatiels are lovely btw.

  • hahaha,"Mocha" finaly got his partner for last years of life,so cute, great video created by you, great job uploader

  • Thanks for that. Enjoyed it immensely.

  • BEAST!!!

  • What a great job you did on that video! I raise Tiels for the fun of it. I liked seeing the progression videos. Thanx for sharing!

  • I beg of someone to tell me the name of the first song, I cannot find it.

  • @MrNicktheparakeet Wise Guys "Oo La La"

  • @celestialdls Thanks

  • For everyone who loves cockatiels toots and pox on my channel are very entertaining! Please check out my channel!

  • Wow! I would nominate this for the Oscars as the most inspirational Youtube video.

  • my bf used to own 4 cockatiels, he always told me how amazing they are. it never occur to me that i could have one too. but after this video, we decided to have a new pair cockatiels. Now my lovely little two month old snow white is sitting on my shoulder, watching me typing... she's such a sweetie...great job!

  • If only childcare was as easy as chewing up a handful of seeds and then opening your mouth.

  • Aww, birds are an adorable sort of weird. :) This is so cute!

  • my beloved misty boogles a grey 13 year old passed away 1week today. After watching this video the joy of life returned to me. Where i felt my beloved die in my hands i see these beautiful new babies in the world. Ive rarely felt so happy that my eyes tear up. Amazing footage. <3 keep up the good work! :*D

  • @angelofhope7778 So sad about your bird! I had a Bourke's parakeet that was very attached to me pass away a year ago, so I know how you feel. Thanks for the comment! I'm glad my video cheered you up. Btw, I have a pearl cockatiel named Mitsy which is kinda similar to your bird's name. :)

  • Such an amazing video!!! <3

  • this was absolutely darling. i'm so in love! great work!

  • those babies are precious!

  • My favorite YouTube video as of now. Great job. Adorable!

  • wow this is the most beautiful cockatiel video on youtube! put aside the cute birds, you did a great job editing the video, frame shots... you should go to hollywood!

    i have few questions though:

1- what were u feeding the parents while they sat on the eggs and while feeding the new ones?

2- i can see that youve put them in a nest box which is pretty open to space, mine are (at this very moment)sitting in a nest box which i could never open and take pictures this freely. werent they disturbed?

  • Baby birds are fuggly.

  • Wat does the mother feed the babies? And How old do your cockatiel need to be to lay eggs? Please reply!

  • Really cute video!!!

    and soooo cute the babys!

  • this is amazing! :)

  • My cockatiels layed 2 eggs for now... I hope and I can't wait to have baby 'tiels. It's their first time so I'm nervous... Awesome and hopeful video!

  • cockatiels are the best i wish mine mated but he died at 7 years old the other 1 is still alive at 5 months old

  • This is adorable :) im buying a cockatiel in a couple of days, and he's still a baby. Not one that needs to be with his mother, but more like 50-60 days old.

Around a week ago, my parakeet, Flauffy died, and I just have that instinct that I need to take care of an animal. Without him, nothing is there to fill the void.

  • AMAZING! May I ask a few questions? What camera did you record this? Was it on macro mode? Do your cockatiel parents feed their babies or do you feed them using a syringe ? Thanks!!

  • As I was watching this I had my pet cockatiel on my shoulder :D I also have three more and love all of them to death

  • In society it seems you can either be a dog or a cat person. Fuck that, I'm a bird person :D

  • Awwwww! I so want a cockatiel now! (A baby) my birds flew away yesterday and I'm really sad :( I left there cage out with food water treats etc. And they may come back but probably not until a long time. I wangted anothe r bird but a different type or the same. I have 2 cages so yeah...I really miss my birds though :(

  • thats so cute!

  • I just got a mated pair of cockatiels who have had healthy babies in the past. I've had them almost 2 weeks, and the female has alread laid 2 eggs since January 22nd. The eggs have a pinkish hue to them. Does this mean that they are fertilized? I don't have an egg candler, but I thought the pink hue might be a good sign??? Btw, LOVE THE VIDEO!!! The music is awesome! You did an amazing job! :)

  • @Few70170 Hi, thanks for your comment! :) If it's only been three days since the eggs have been hatched, it's too early to tell whether or not they're fertilized. You can check out this website for reference: avianweb.com/eggtoparrot.html --- But you do not need candling equipment. All you need is a dark room, a bright light and if your light is small enough, you can cup the egg with your thumb & forefinger to concentrate the light into that small area. I hope that helps!

  • So cute! By the way why is your pigeon disabled? :(

  • @thegreensnake13 Thanks! It was a racing pigeon my coworker found. The owner later told me that it was probably attacked by a hawk on one of its training runs.

  • I'm worried my birds just layed 3 eggs and they are not taking care of them what should I do!

  • @GoogooEyedChihuahua From what I know, a bird's first clutch usually doesn't always hatch, sometimes b/c they're too young or lack of experience. I'm not sure how long they haven't been sitting on the eggs, or if the eggs are even in a nesting box, or if the eggs are fertilized, but if I were you, I would wait over a week or so and if they don't sit on them, just throw the eggs away. And I wouldn't get an incubator and do feedings on your own b/c that's for experienced breeders. :)

  • Great video!

    Ps.could you show fathers :P

  • Wow watching these birds grow is almost painful! Must be really tiring to grow THAT fast... especially all those feathers! so cute :D

  • I got here from

  • look like you have a good camera

  • Nice edit, very creative...I laughed and I learned something, thanks

  • Fantastic video. So funny and cute! Totally getting a tumbs up from me. x

  • Cutest video ever!!!!!

  • The music fits

  • Really cool vid man great work. Makes me miss my cockatiels

  • That was lovely :)

  • LOL 3:34, whapping the other baby on the head. Oh man, this video was SO CUTE!!!!!!!!!! <3

  • Thank you for recording this and sharing it; it really made me feel all stupidly warm and gooshy inside. Particularly what you did for Mocha.

  • Saw this on WImp and I like to see how the birds grow. I also like that version of Wake up by Arcade fire... where can I find a version like that?

  • Ok, I like birds now.

  • Brilliant Video :D loved it ^.^

  • Thank you *so* so very much for such a beautiful video. Extremely well crafted and an amazing story.

Worth some serious recognition. A prize or worldwide viral status. This is what I believe.

  • haha! loved the captions! my family used to breed cockatiels so it brought back some pretty hilarious memories, great vid!

  • Isn't it weird to think that's what we all look like inside?..

  • Awesome video and good music.

  • Arcade fire 3 :)

  • Amazing video!

  • thats adorable :D

  • Life is beautiful, just look at this beauty!! <3 <3 <3 Awww

  • Amazing - I had no idea the chicks grew so fast! ;-) Congrats on a beautiful extended (thanks to your charitable sneakiness!) family!!

  • Smock Smock!

  • what a beautiful thing life is.. great video!

  • wow - this video was amazing for me to watch - i know nothing about birds and I feel like I got something out of it. May I ask what the last song is?

  • any tip for a first time cockatiels owner?

  • 3:33 "Ow ow ow.....OW OW OW OW OW!"

  • Wow, birds grow boobs fast?

  • @EmmaHambleton Hehe, birds do not have boobs. Btw, the huge lump around their neck is called a crop which is a muscle that stores and processes food before it goes into their stomach. :)

  • Creepy, yet adorable.

  • Awesome video!! I had my wife, daughter and daughter's boyfriend all on top of my phone watching this!

  • -little birds go to school- kids, today at, lunch we will have puke please enjoy -kids yell- AGAIN!!!

  • I loved this video!!!! Great job!

  • Thank you so much for answering my question about the food you were feeding the babies. Obviously, you know what you're doing. God bless. :)

  • ive had my two birds for 2 years the are about 6 years old now the bump uglies many times a day just no babies any advice?

  • @guyduran Even if they mate, your cockatiels could possibly be the same gender. :) Depending on the color mutation, it could be difficult to tell what gender your bird is. Also, it depends on their environment. My female cockatiels will only lay eggs when they feel that the environment is safe, there's plenty of food, and if there's a place for them to nest. :)

  • awesome video :D

  • theyre so hideous that theyre adorable!! lol

  • They are so goddamn cute!!!!!!!!! <3<3<3<3<3

  • 3:33 First fight :)

  • What a beautiful story! I cried a little.. :D

  • @ratlvr Thanks!

  • Sooo cute!!! ;)

  • @celestialdls Hi I think your video is awesome loved it. Can you help as I am puzzled by your version of Wake Up - Arcade Fire, I can't find that version as yours seems to have female vocals and is great. Would appreciate if you could advise?

  • @JKKulin Thanks for the comment. From 2:44 onward is the last part of the song "Wake Up" by Arcade Fire. The song right before it is from Basement Jaxx "Do Your Thing". I hope that helps!

  • i dont understand how anyone couldnt find baby birds sooooo cute when they are babies ... funnies little thing they are :-)

  • This is such an amazing video.. God bless these lovely birds and you for taking such good care of them!!

  • wow I never knew how quick those birds grow! what was that ball looking shape on their chest though? it looks kinda scary...

  • @xsmiley94 It's called a "crop" which helps process food in a bird goes before it goes into their stomach or gizzard. They can also store food in their crop as well. All birds (I believe) have a crop but you can't really see it on full-grown birds b/c it's covered by their feathers. :) On babies, you can clearly see it!

  • at first I didnt think I would like this but this is one of the dopest videos on youtube great job!

  • feels so awesome to see people who care for their pets so much :D

  • Hi great vid, and apologies for being to lazy to check the comments, but I'm just wondering what you shot the vid with?

    Cheers

  • @lats28883 Thanks! I used a Micro Four Thirds camera; it's a Panasonic DMC-GH1. :)

  • This is amazing, you are amazing

  • @IDontKnowCorp Thanks!

  • Can you please tell me what you were giving the babies to eat that looked like mixed veggies with rice and something reddish? Thank you.

  • @pencilpush It's steamed mixed veggies with rice, pellets (which have red pellets in there too), and some organic veggie baby food to help soften the pellets. :)

  • I was eatint when i saw this. I am no longer eating.

  • birds are the only thing that are not cute when they are a baby

  • @kio1zatchbell Rodents and insects are pretty freaking ugly too ..

  • Absolutely loved this! I have forwarded it to friend of mine who has a cockatiel as I know she will love your vid!

  • Mother's Love - ain't it Grand!

  • This creeped me out a little bit, but I really did enjoy it! Thanks for sharing!

  • I remember when our cockatiel babies first learned to fly. They went straight up to the ceiling, across the ceiling, crashed into the wall, and landed behind the television.

  • 0:45 - awesome helmet

  • jesus fucking christ, thats the ugliest baby animal I have ever laid eyes upon, its looks like a sick alien mutated horror thingy..

  • @jaxxrr Based on what you're saying, I think you would enjoy eating balut.

  • so ugly

  • Great video, especially your captions. We have 12 (or is it13?) tiels, some of whom were hatched here. We also have two African Gray parrots who live apart from the tiels. Nice job!

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think it is so neat that you shared with Gordita so she could see what it was like to finally be a mommy..... GREAT video.

  • Lovely!!! thanks for the video!

  • They're adorable

  • 2:43 Badass chocobo

  • I hate a shit day in work and this video just made my day!! Thanks for the upload and best of health to them.

  • Great video, but those hatching were DANG ugly....

  • @Thelemonleopard When we're born it's not exactly the most beautiful thing in the world either.

  • Amazing Video!

  • so witty, well done!

  • Wonderful :D

  • OMG most baby creatures i find cute but thems FUGLY. And all the vomitting doesnt make it too appealing lol. of course they are quite beautiful when they finally get some feathers!

  • Awesome... I have a pair of cockatiels but they are really poor parents and do not "sit" on the eggs. It was really neat of you to give a good egg to the other cockatiel... well done. My birds are out of their cage when we are home (a latina ringneck parrot too). And yes they can be noisy.

  • @Jevandtieriel My cockatiel is the quietest of our birds. It's the 4 budgies that drive my hubby nuts. I don't even hear them any more. But when I do I usually enjoy their song. But my cockateil only says anything when he wants feeding or out of his cage.

  • That was amazing

  • such a good video!, thank you for taking the time to make this..it made me smile :)

  • Dang, from blind and naked to near full size in 30 days!

  • When my daughter and I saw the part where you gave one of the eggs to the older cockatiel we started crying. The video was so cute and sweet. Simply adorable ... then not so adorable then adorable again !

  • Fantastic video!!!

  • jaysus, well someone likes birds...

  • Cool video. But what's up with the poor pigeon? :( Are you keeping her alive even though she can't move (or so it looks like)? :(

  • @Eirorinon7 Thanks for the comment! The owner of the injured racing pigeon took the bird the morning after. All I know is that he said he was going to treat her in his little bird hospital at his place. :)

  • @celestialdls Oh, I really hope she's OK or that she rests in peace. It was so damn painful to see her like that. </3

  • *wipes tear from eye* they grow up so fast.. no seriously, wow they change so much in a month!

  • @celestialdls haha you're welcome! I hope your birdies are okay!:)

  • I love this video!!!!

But I do feel sorry for that poor pigeon.

  • wow very well made video those things are cute!

  • 0:01 - "My cockatiel is a slut."

    LOL!!!

  • I love it I love it I love it I love it!!!

    n-n!

  • 3:03........ BUUUUUUUURRRRRRRP!!!

  • mine always lays eggs she always sits on it but it nevers hatches help me :(

  • Wow thanks for that! I was so terrified when the mom took a peck at the youngster! lol. Fascinating!

  • My fav part was eating the veggie mix, smooshie all over their beak haha. I always tried to have a little towel closeby before she tried wiping her beak on me to clean the smooshie off. Of course she LOVED peas, the absolute smooshiest LOL

  • At first when it hatched I thought it was a red and yellow frog for a second...

  • 0:47 kalimero!

  • loved it, I had baby Cockatiels years ago and this made me laugh watching it

  • Help! My tiels laid eggs and have been caring for them for 28 days.

I'm almost sure they are not hatching but the parents won't leave the nest.

Someone please tell me what to do.

    Thx

  • @Mrhetarded Hey there, leave them on it. If you remove the eggs or take them off, they'll just lay more eggs, and it's stressful for the birds. They'll get off the eggs when they're ready. My cocktatiel once sat on her eggs for about 2 months until she got off of them. :) Depends on the bird though.

  • @celestialdls @Mrhetarded - Agree with celestialdls, and she'll lay so many eggs that she'll become calcium deficient! An egg could break inside her, due to thin walls, and might cut her insides. Just keep food and water closeby, and try to clean the best you can.

  • aww, that was so sweet that mocha got to raise one. i can barely stand it, they're so cute! love the dance scenes =D

  • I know that i'm supposed to say how cute I found it, but baby birds are fuckin' scary dawg!

  • Great video, thanks! One of the most beautiful moments for me was the one when older baby stretched its wings for the first time!

  • Thank you for this video. I have watched it several times over already. It makes me uncontrollably smile every time I watch it

    .

  • 10 peoples will never learn how to fly

  • i wish u didn't have to call your female bird a "slut," when the other male bird is a "slut" too

  • 3:30 genius picture...so sweet

  • Wonderful editing, wonderful music, wonderful commentary. Wonderful!

  • Happily this has made me.

  • Great job! Loved this :)

  • This is fantastic, love your comments and the editing is, indeed, brilliant! Lovely little creatures, so adorable!
