Everything is monitored, the sites you go on, the youtube vids you watch, the stores you visit, the books you buy, the google searchs you search, everything. Everything is recorded on a database, and everyone has a 'profile' built based on your internet activity.

That said though, and court of laws aside, by monitoring a persons internet activity its quite easy to build a profile on them and ascertain how much of a threat they pose. EG. Does someone watch a conspiracy vid and then go and post that vid on social sites or do they log off and watch porn instead.

@randomhatemail every computer does have an I.P address though, and it is through the I.P address, where you do not even need to put in your information, based on the I.P address the computer already knows your location.

Doesn't the Patriot Act 2002 state that all American registered companies have to share their data with the government?? So therefore Facebook would have to give up its info anyway by law! Just like the UK 2011 census was organised and conducted by a company called Lockheed Martin a US arms manufactorer hmmmm suspicious or what. So the US government has access now to the UK census information. Can you imagine that happening in the US? I doubt it. But the Patriot Act 2002 now says different.

@86thislove It doesn't just apply to facebook, all internet activity is tracked, where you shop, the forums you write on, the information/websites you read.... all of which, when combined, can give a very detailed and informative profile on you. And your threat level, if any, can be safely evaluated. And I say threat level as in the sense of, do you first know what the government is upto and second do you agree with their actions.
