  • And someone had to pay,so we can have 60inch flat screen Tv.

  • To compare the plight of the Native American people to the petty tribal squabbling between Israel and lebanon is completely ludicrous. The Native American people were subject to the attempted genocide of of a theo political ideology called capitalism, the squabbles in the middle east trace their roots back thousands of years in a perpetual girl fight where none are innocent and someone's mother is insulted because someone else sneezed.

  • Oh the romantic depiction of injuns. Sweet.

  • @Urvakhsha I agree, however, the reality of the native American people was as normal to them as your petty life is to you. In reality, the romantic notion of Americans differs so greatly from their reality that it takes trillions of dollars in marketing and politics to cover it up, whereas the native people were so close to that which was later depicted in the last 25 years that most people will admit that Custer got what he deserved and idiots like you will eventually too.

  • @MrTobor63

Idiots like me ? Why so hateful ? So you are next in line just behind me. And Crazy Horse was saint(pbuh).

  • The Real Spirts of the Earth will never be forgotten. They are a will always be the True and Real Americans. I bow to the earth for more then this but for all the tribes that have ever exsisted.

  • The Real Spirts of the Earth will never be forgotten.

  • This song made me cry.

    I never cry.

  • the true American people....don't blame me, but all of today's Americans are just Europeans...

  • @jack0eagle yeah but a pretty badly supid version of europeans

  • man.

i'm 20 and i soooo badly wish i could have been born in 1965.

that way i could have heard all the great music from the 70s-90s.

can't stand half the stuff my gen listens to.

    thanks for postin!

  • @Rochdale8 Fortunately for you, you CAN hear all the great music from that era without being a 47-year-old. Back then you didn't have all of the digital advantages you are afforded now, so be glad. You have a lot of miles to cover yet. The 60's & 70's gave us a lot of great music, and the best have stood the test of time, although some have been played into the dirt.

  • you do nice work!

  • OF CURSE I LIKE KANSAS... I AM FROM CHILE... WE LOVE YOU GUYS.

  • @conradiche Hello, olde chap. Are those miners okay? I've heard that the Yanks in Hollywood are going to make a movie about them. And well right, too!!!

  • The name of the song is Cheyenne Anthem but the video is of Dances with Wolves and Those native American's were Sioux

  • Borgduck I like your comment about the native Indians. Maaan if I could I would've travelled back in time so I could live with these people. And I love crossbows!!!

  • @MrJumanjiboy Wow! Thanks! I've just noticed your comment & it took me by surprise!! You sound like Highlander. Pity we don't have a TARDIS handy!

  • We will take their revenge from the barbarian occupiers at last.

  • I'm English & think the Native Indians are probably the most wise, & noble, & beautiful people on Earth!

And Kansas are one kickass Prog Rock band!

  • thank you for posting this. beautiful!!!!

  • I'm always a huge fan of the tribe...I'm a FIlipino. In fact I even named my youngest daughter "Shai Anne" or a variation of Cheyenne.....

  • when i coming to this country i try to find my heritage,my great great father he was an native, cherokee, i read about the history of the usa, every day in the library and the internet, but when i was in the reservation,i feel like all my life i was there..is something weird.....because i born in mexico and was the first time in this place, this song is beautiful

  • i have a husquervana chainsaw i cut fallen trees for heat,i eat game for food, earth provides, but some folk like oil baron al gore suggests we pay tax on carbon, which makes trees grow n life impossible on earth.

  • Awesome. An after thought of a song in the70s that is, thankfully, getting a re birth. 'We will share it with you....'

'Is there no solution? Can we find no other way?'

  • This is absolutely beautiful. My spirit guide is a Indian (maybe chief) called peacemaker. We are here for only a short time .and that time is all recorded. And we will ALL answer for the good and bad we do. I love the spirit of the Indians and their ways and knowledge. We could al learn a lot from them. They believe the earth will come back to them. She will be torn and tattered but in time they will heal her. May God forgive us for ruining the earth.

  • This is a beautiful video of my favorite Kansas song. Native Americans are not dead. The Great Spirit goes on.

  • @opsatau sadly you aren't right :/

  • Im a white Indian. I love this video

  • A classic!!!

  • Great Song. Great Vid. Great Band *

  • TRUE PETER YYZ ***

  • a great video. none better so far. thank you.

  • Your analogy with the Israel/Lebanon war is very apt. Israel treats the Arabs just the way the white man has treated native Americans. It's called GENOCIDE.

  • the people who started "homeland defense"..

  • so much about ''Thanksgiving''....

  • Beautiful post...Thanks Dalefan!

  • Thank-you

  • @yukonnahanni Fack-you

  • The leading vocalist of the band anyways looks a little like native american, in my eyes.

  • Love the video. Musically, I'm disappointed this performance left out the long instrumental solo part that's on the album and also a bit at the end.

  • Native Americans, I love U!

  • I love it, shows true meaning to all Nations, very nice......sister Blue Horse, Cherokee Nation

  • Very sad song 'bout the forgotten...

  • Beautiful!

  • whered u find that map at 00:52.

  • I AM OF LUMBEE INDIAN HERITAGE.THIS IS VERY RESPECTFUL

    AMERICAS GOOD SIDE TANYA

  • THANK YOU Dalefan38! Your work is appreciated.

European Man cheats Native-American Man by lying-covenant-gun-bayonet-howitzer, demonizing one facet of mankind to self-justify; some tribes had written ethical constitutions B4 European Man resolved his. Then European Man thinks himself noble; but who is the savage? The one who breaks covenant made in good faith for sake of earthly gain. Without such explicit words your video made each point; quite artistically at that. Well done native son. GdBls

  • Truth hurts!

  • A great tribute to those who came before...Thank You

And to those who ask....Could it be that "We"...are just getting what was put on the wheel of life....the white man came here and took this land from them...should he expect any different?

  • One of my favorite bands from the 70's and still is

  • Great song. I really like it. :D

  • Brilliant song and brilliant video

  • the one song that makes me cry, every time.

    Wonderful, wonderful song.

  • This is a good song yes it is, I do agree!!!

  • Could it be that the same fate of the American Indians is now happening to the poor and middle class? Or maybe the country as a whole by the loss of our freedoms?

  • @boanerges144

Could it be that "We", are just getting what we put on the wheel of life....

  • well done /.

  • Kansas is truly one of the best bands of alltime!

If you know not of which you speak, it is best not to speak.

  • @TheIndoctriNATION

I removed my comment because your reply gave me pause for thought . As usual I say too much... Its a good song though. peace.

  • @TheHonda550

Doesn't that happen to all of us at one time or another?

    Peace.

  • preciosa cancion

  • Wonderful video, perfect with this song!!!! Bravo!!!!!

  • where did you get the Pic of the map of the states of all the tribes?

  • This song says a lot for the native people!!

  • This is a fabulous video~ thankyou

  • Ameriendiens soyez fière de vos origines

  • 1:03 An Indian riding a white horse? Forgive me if I believe Karl May to much, but I really believe it's ridiculous for an Indian to ride on a white horse (it's clearly visible, not what they wanted).

  • In the ressurection of the dead I will be glad to hug my true American natives !!! Daniel 12: 2 & John:28,29

  • indiens terre d'une vie, indiens terre d'un peuple indiens vous avez la voie..

  • I have been telling others since the 70's that Kansas is one of the best rock groups of all time. Someday the masses will listen!

  • thank you, great video great song. (steve , is descendant of the natives as you might know) to bad to see mount rush more in this video for it is on holy native land, but that's what you meant probably by showing those great leaders above it.

    peace

  • =K ROCKS SPIRITS=

  • 3:20 Steve's falsettos..OMG..and in CONCERT too...

  • It tells a moving story. I love Kansas and the contributon they have made through the years, by way of their musical genius and talent.

  • Hi´s voice is quite similar as Neil Young. Something like that. Sorry, my english.

  • @chaqai

Yes, that first lead vocal sounds more like Neil than any member of Kansas. Maybe someone knows the answer to this for sure?

  • WE ARE STILL HERE! The original Kansas members sang this beautiful song during an outdoor concert at the Otoe-Missouria First Council Casino (owned by my husband's tribe) last fall, just south of the KS/OK line. We sat just outside the grounds of the old Chilocco Indian School, one of the many govt boarding schools built to force assimilation on us. The irony of this concert setting & this beautiful tribute song moved several of the natives in the crowd to tears. WE ARE STILL HERE.

  • Don't worry, you will never be forgotten. There are many people outside the USA who are highly interrested in your history and culture. I wish it would be easier to get contact to the native americans from outside the USA to directly learn from the native americans about their culture. You had very wise leaders where we Europeans can learn from. Peace to all of you.

  • You people in America are incredible. Just think about it, it's a song and it is about of what it means,if not more! And they are your fellow citizenship. You should love each other.(On the other side we Europiens are not better at all)You win....

  • citizens

  • Hey Dalefan38, Thanks for keeping this song within its original context! It was always meant as a tribute to the many great native American nations that were exterminated by this country's democratic system. As well, I cannot think of any other band to pay this tribute other than Kansas. I have enjoyed them since 1973 and Cheyenne Anthem to this day stills brings it out from within me! Thanks Again!

  • Great Work D-Fan38.

    Carry On Bro... Peace

    Blessed 2010 & 2011...

  • Great video.thanks for showing respect to the native american. Not seen very much these days.Instead of showing respect to the original americans and learning from them, our heros are rappers, oprah, and ellen.

  • @fretfirestarter

    really nice comment.

  • @fretfirestarter Amen brother!

  • @fretfirestarter Well you are making alot of sense, very true. This band is one of the best in the land, and they created a wonderful tribute to our native americans...but please, lay off Oprah and Ellen.

  • @fretfirestarter We could have learned soo much more from them. They had a code of honor that we didn't understand until far too late. I hope the people we save what can be saved so that we may yet learn.

  • hey my man!! you did one hell of a job with this vid - i can tell how much work is involved, apart from dedication and ideas - and of course this song!!!

tip o' the hat from Germany

    manfred

  • Face it everyone-THIS IS THE GREATEST BAND WHO EVER WAS,ARE,WILL BE!!.

  • @peteryyz43 ... it sure is and ALWAYS WILL BE!!!!!!!!

  • @peteryyz43 Hard to argue with that.

  • @peteryyz43 you forgot IS lol

  • @peteryyz43

Yeah...their great, but not the best.....

  • @peteryyz43 I couldn't agree more

  • This is some AWESOME music! So inspirational, so full of emotions, so ... TRUE!

  • broke out leftoverature the other day and what can you say, they are outstanding musicians.. i will remember them in the 70's and 80's as the best of times..

  • =NATIVE USA MASTERPIECE=

  • wow, incredible footage and video, and amazing music. Great tribute. And the music... I had Kansas albums in the 70's and am so happy they are still around. They are so talented.

  • Let's look at it for what it is. A fantastic song that tells a story and the video with it follows closely with the song. Well done all the way around. No political or religious intentions, just good music done with good graphics period.

  • =KANSAS MASTERPIECE= !

  • My God, I had to revisit this video after your reply to my comment and I've decided of all the videos I've watched this one speaks to my heart the most. It is simply brilliant, beautiful, haunting and true. I love it, thank you so very much! PS, incredible song!

  • NATIVE CULTURE IS SO BEAUTIFUL...

  • I hope this message reaches you in a state of peace.

I wish to invite you to the House of Islam in peace. There are five pillars:

1: Testify that there is NO god worthy of worship except Allah, who is the creator who created all that begun to exist, and that Muhammad is His prophet and servant.

Pillar 2: Worship Allah 5 times a day.

3: Distribute 2.5% of our excess wealth to the poor

4: Fast during the month of Ramadhan to practice self decipline

    5: Perform Hajj in Mecca

  • #1 implies that YOU recognize that OTHER GODS exist.... This video has aABOSULETLY NOTHING TO DO with Islam

The Native God in this country was" Awonawilona" as I recall I believe you'll find the Somgwriter here believes in Jesus christ, and respects the Natives as I do as some are my relatives.

  • Friend I believe there is only ONE Creator, who created all that begun to exist; space, time, matter, forces etc. In the Arabic language God is known as Allah and in the Native American God is known as 'Awonawilona' (wht does is mean?)

We read in the Glorious Quran, that messengers n prophets of God came too all mankind, in all communitiues and tribes.

I knw the video is nothing 2do wth Islam, but I jst wnted 2share my faith with everyone in your community, because we hav nothin 2 hide.

    PEACE

  • I know that Islam holds a level of respect for the prophet Jesus, but that it considers him nothing more than a mere man. Christianity believes him to be very God in the flesh. So which is it? Both CANNOT be right. Islam teaches a works-righteousness where salvation depends, at least in part, on man. Christianity teaches salvation by grace alone thru faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. Good works R then a RESULT of salvation and not a means 2 it. A salvation left up to man is doomed 2 failure.

  • "How can than man be justified with God? How can he be clean, whos born of a woman? When even the Moon is not bright and all the stars in the sky are impure in His sight! How much less is than the man who is but a MAGGOT and the Son of Man who is but a worm?"

Book of Job chapter 25 verses 4 6.

If Jesus is God how can the Holiest of Holy make Mary impure for 40 days? If we say Jesus is the Son and God is the Father, than Mary is the Wife of God? If not why not?

    Peace my American Friends

  • Well Done!! THANK YOU !

  • =RESPECT= =HONOR= =LEARN=

Great Video Kevin & Song KANSAS !

  • Ignorance killed the "first americans" which is a stupid but almost accurate name for the people. The were not NATIVE, they just got here first. It is a disgrace what happened but it can not be undone. They can only be remembered with dignity,

  • The Americans, your flag is dirty and blooded...

  • Democracy is working towards a world without flags....

  • Name just one that isn't.

  • ...And that is what the American flag now has in common with just about every other flag of all other nations that are recognized by the UN. We as a nation have been asked and flat out begged by most other nations to get dirty...and to help clean up the messes caused by other European continent nations....

  • Great Video. Great Song. 100 %

  • god bless my indiain tribe the abernacky rare breed but most pure bloods died in the extermanation of my creed, thanks kansas.may they rest in peace

  • Thats my Name <3

  • Steve Walsh has the voice. Good tribute to the first Americans. However, all the peoples of the planet have warred with each other, committed genocide for whatever reasons. This is the real and sad reality of human beings. Capable of so much beauty, love, ingenuity, art & music but just as capable of hatred, cruelty, malice and war towards each other.

  • well put

  • TRUE = K ROCK

  • It's a touching video....These are the REAL Americans!

  • Kantastic Song ! Masterpiece ?

  • My mom played this for me. She always said what a great song this is. i totally agree.

  • Nice Video. Always one of my favorite Kansas songs. Very thought provoking.

    Yes Kansas is still together.

  • Beautifully done... Dalefan38...

It is our shame... so much Native American blood stains the flag...

The Kansas song places responsibility for the atrocities exactly where it belongs...

  • Life and death was an honor in a society where "counting coup" was a far greater honor than taking a life in a skirmish!

  • no u are not listening to me, us first nations warred with each other but we didn't kill each other off to extinction,

  • So ur saying it's good that the europeans came and whiped out all the indians ?

  • not Europeans, but Americans.

  • you need to expand more on your stupid comment that it was real genocide, yes we had war but like i said before we didn't kill 120 millions indians like the europeans did. what the europeans did was genocide

  • i am trying to get across to people who comment on things like "get over what the whites did to you, and besides didn't you indians fight and kill each other all the time" i answered yes we did have our wars but we didn't commit genocide

  • Nicely done. Great song.
