Could u give me an estimated price for this project? I've got the tools to make it but it would be a gift so I wouldn't want to spend too terrible much... Thanks :)
@JackOfAllTrades0404 Well, the tambourine was a First Act. They are at places like Toys R Us. It was my son's and I can't remember the cost but I think it's in the ten dollar range. the wood for the neck would be around 3 or 4 dollars and the strings also around 4. A set of string tuners from CB Gitty are about 6 dollars. The rest was just scrap wood and things like that. You maybe able to make it cheaper if you already have wood and stuff.
@487565852 I really don't have a particular angle. I just eyeball it. Funny that you commented on this build, I just now got home from putting stain on it. It looks a bit different now as I didn't add all the metal and rings. Much more rustic now. I still haven't strung it up though. I hope it rings out! Thanks for the comments!
@487565852 Yep! I used I scarf joint. I think the next neck I make I'm going to show how i do them. Nothing complex really. I even make my cuts with a jigsaw.
@krabbers Thanks for the comment. It's still on the bench. I have been waiting for my tuners and strings to come in. I still can't decide on nylon or metal. I've never made a banjo style body before.. so we'll see how it goes!
Sorry i meant "machines"(my friends grandpa builds stringed instruments for a living and lets us use his garage)

Did you use a scarf joint for the neck or did you just cut the angle?
