Brilliant video!!! I must have a go at making my own whole grain bread.I have been buying and eating whole grain bread for health reasons, for a year now.It tastes much better than the normal white bread.
Home made whole grain looks even better!. Yummy.
Is it possible to make bread without salt Steve?that would make it even healthier
thank you for the vid Steve...i really enjoyed and appreciated it.i hope i can find some whole grain flower in my country;which is a third-world-country
Glad to hear the videos are working for you. I have heard of people making bread using a bit of yesterday's, but I have not done it myself. If you do it, please let me know how it goes. Happy baking!
Hi Steve! I absolutely love your channel. Heart disease runs in my family so ive been cutting out processed stuff and started making my own products. I looked at a lot of channels and recipes and found yours to be the best. Even my boyfriend likes making bread now and his comes out better than mine. lol I do have a quick question. Have you ever used a piece of your bread as a starter for the next bread? If you have how do you do the recipe? Thank you!!! xoxo
no matter how many times i tried to make bread, the bread comes out really good right out of the oven....but the texture is a lot more dense and gets hard after a day. How can i achieve that softness from the bread i purchase from the bakery shop/grocery store?
I have just started making bread and learning about the whole process, so your videos are very helpful, easy to follow and also enjoyable. Thanks muchly (Chloe, UK)
Thanks for your videos.. will try it at home :)

Steve,
Thanks for the video. Going to try today. I couldn't find the recipe on your website for this like the others.

Hi Vallonia,
I hope your whole grain bread turns out well. It is possible to make breads without salt. It's there for flavour, not for any chemical reason.
Good luck with the baking!

Great, great channel. Make's what seems to be an intimidating process very accessible. Got potatoes on the boil for starter right now.
Thanks for these wonderful videos.
Now if you could do something for fruitcake.......

Hi, adding salt is for taste, and in my experience it doesn't slow down the yeast at all.

doesn't adding the salt at the very beginning kill off the yeast? i thought you're supposed to add salt only after the first rising.
