  • 2:43 frankie be careful on your shifting there... but still it was good wow GO IDOL

  • Love me some Seasons 4! Damn, Frankie was fine!

  • I was born in the wrong decade.

  • @TexasTina THANK YOU

  • I saw the Jersey Boys in Vegas and could not get the 4 Seasons out of my mind for weeks. What a fantastic show!

  • Just noticed that I play bass kind of like Joe Long. Love the Four Seasons, but I have to say I prefer the original lineup; their harmonies seemed fuller to me.

  • Did they really play their own instruments?

  • @behdoc absolutely- studio quality musicianship. It really forced Brian Wilson to push the other Beach Boys to become proficient, he feared the FS's so much!

  • Saw them in The Latin Casino ! A verrrrry looon time ago & I STIL love them & FV and the Jersey Boys!

  • I remember seeing the seasons at the old Boulevard club in Queens NY back in the mid 60's & sat up front & they were great, Frankie's voice really was strong, back then, he did not even need the Mic to belt out the great songs that they did.

  • In 1965 i believe it was Joe long took over for the late Nick Massi .

  • @dmullsr n. massci just left the group. he passed away in 2000 @ 65. ****

  • @dmullsr

If you saw Jersey Boys, Nick Massi was first, then Charlie Calello took over for about a year, then Joe Long LaBracio took over for the next 10 years.

  • That's funny! I didn't even really look that close.

  • 2 different bass players

  • @BobbyColePopMusic

Didn't you see Jersey Boys?? They tell you why there's 2 different bass players.

  • How come the Bass player plays right handed in some videos and left handed in others. Did he actually play both ways?

  • i love Frankie Valli's music

  • I love '(You're Gonna) Hurt Yourself, and never thought I'd see a live version. Thanks you so much for posting!

  • I have a copy of this performance, and being a musician myself, I'm trying to figure if the backing vocals and instruments are live. I think they used backing tracks for the music. The guys are way off the mikes here. Frankie is obviously live because he makes a mistake at 2:44 and changes the original lyric. I guess I should worry about something more current!!! thanks for posting BobbyCole

  • If it were live, we should see the brass instruments and the drums somewhere.

  • @tambourmn

During many of these shows, the group used the original background music and sang their portions.

Frankie isn't necessarily making a mistake. He sometimes intentionally changed the lyrics live for a couple of reasons. One is to show he's not lip-synching it. Another reason is if there's a bootleg copywright infringement going out there, he knows which concert it came from by which word he used--smart guy!!

  • thanks so much for this. i couldn't find a live version on youtube before now

    cheers :)

  • is a best song

  • this was hullabaloo 1966
