Also in response to the guy who said he wouldn't be effected by a drastic societal change Wrong. one very likely drastic societal change is the exhaustion of earths natural resources. Without revolution this Will happen and there will be more hideouts outside the industrial world. With a revolution many will be able to live independent from society as many desire. So mr great frontier here is essentially relying on the success of the occupiers so he can live free. No harm on being a hermit but
i know those types of girls and that guy. their fukn weird and shit. like you cant talk to them without getting pissed off and punching them in their fukn face. god i hated those people back in highschool.
This is a great example how stupid the protestors were in their operation. Alienating other students and not letting them pass is not a good way of getting support for your cause.
an extra 3grand per student next fall to continue a uc education and you have a problem with students showing their force in numbers?
we've all seen how doing nothing has done so much. no one is going to support their cause because that's how it is in this modern world. we have been taught not to cause any trouble and to be good little boys and girls.
@sk8bow Answer this... how many university policy meetings did they attend? Did they try to influence the decision making prior? Did they write letters of petition to the university president, to their congressmen, to their governor? Did they try ANY OTHER means of redress prior to an unauthorized protest on university campus?
@sk8bow Because I'm sorry... education is expensive. The state is broke. Contrary to what they might believe, they are not entitled to an education at this school. It costs money to keep the buildings open, to maintain the campus, to buy electricity and water and trash removal service and landscaping and to make investments to improve the university.
@sk8bow In the USA, the right to education stops after 12th grade.
Education is obtainable.. get a student loan. It's interest free until you graduate. That's what I did. Oh, and I also worked 20 hours/week while I was in school to help pay rent, auto insurance, and bills.
Your "camel's nose" argument about how things will become is a logical fallacy.
@sk8bow It is not my opinion. You made a camel's nose argument. That type of argument (regardless of the subject matter) according to the rules of traditional logic is inherently flawed. What you claimed might be false or might be true, but the argument you made is a fallacy. Please try to comprehend the distinction.
While highly unlikely, a major breakdown in society would not drastically affect me or my lifestyle. Thank you for your concern.
@sk8bow Where I live, how I live, and what I do... I don't need a structured society, paved roads, bridges, or police to continue my lifestyle. Thanks for your assumptions.
@arbitter529 Their parents should try to get a refund on their tuition payments.. clearly these kids haven't learned anything. I thought you had to be smart to get into UCB?
I strongly doubt that claim if your bothering yourself commenting on this issue.

@silvermediastudio
education is a right, if the people fought for it.
but now, with your philosophy, education has become very unobtainable.
you don't realize that when you do not fight for the well being of the general population, you hurt the general population.
you think things are bad now, wait until health care, education, jobs, and a place to live are unobtainable to the general public.
it's getting worse and you cannot blame the population for it.
blame your philosophy.

a fallacy? that's your opinion.
all i'm saying is, eventually, there will be a major breakdown in society with all these rising costs.
there are signs of it already, but why should you care?
it's not going to affect you.
or will it?

i've got news for you and your camel toe.
even a subtle change in society will affect you whether you like it or not.
you do not live in a bubble. and no matter how much you want to be independent,
you cannot pave the roads yourself, build that bridge you drive on, or police
your street by yourself.
you are not invincible.

@silvermediastudio
ok, so you're a hermit who doesn't need society. great!
...but that doesn't mean that the general public can't fight for ourselves.
if we didn't fight for ourselves, we wouldn't have any control over prices.
is that what you want????
actually, no one really cares what you think because it doesn't concern you
as you just admitted to.
