  • Makes me miss Andrew a shit load.

And all these fucks calling you generic obviously didn't hear the EP with Batty singing.

    You were an awesome band.

  • this is great dude!! you guys should check out Rems Floating Chandelier:)

  • great job man!this is shozaging sound..best post rock!

  • ou mates you really doing art, i like it sooo much =) I want to create post-rock band too but it's kind of hard here with people about this genre in Lithuania, I only have addicted drummer ... it's so hard to find deep people in this country =/

  • Ha very EITSesque, but still really good.

  • It's great:) noooo vocalist, keep it post. The world never listens to what people say, just feel what you know is you

  • Like it a lot! where are you guys?! thats a cool little stage you've got goin there! I'll have to check out your myspace page. I'm curious what this would sound like with a vocalist.

    -No Ideas But In Things

    (check out the music!)

  • 2:16 = amazing....

  • you guys are amazing. 10/10

  • this is so good..

  • That snare sounds amazing. What brand is it, and what is it made out of?

  • Nice work, Would love it if you could check us out, keep it up,

  • awesome!

  • It wasn't too bad. I like almost all post-rock. But i found this pretty generic...

  • someone likes explosions in the sky... hehe.

    still pretty neat tough

  • beautiful.

  • Post-Rock is an instrumental music style, based on the progression of the instruments and a feelful melody, a singer is useless in a post-rock band.

  • oh well sorry i just thought maybe they could add a lot to their sound with a singer and get more views etc...not hating on their style at all i atually think they have a cool sound. but fair enough i aint trying to persuade them to abandon their music style but i cant certainly say that adding vocals too this would add a lot....oh well though just remember i wasnt insulting them at just a friendly suggestion

  • tds eire

  • It's pretty similar to EITS. Not bad though. There's definitely talent there.

    This will destroy you

    mogwai

  • adding those two names was completely obsolete lol.

    Guys sound pretty good!

And for all you purists: there is post-rock with vocals... post-rock is an experimental genre... so if you can add a singer in an innovative way, it can still be post-rock.

  • @L1amX definitely

  • les kedo bien es genial escuchar musica de este tipo

  • mostro.. (Y)

  • i love post rock music, and this is just great sounding stuff. keep up the good work guys.

  • sounds awesome.. well done.

  • Good!

  • I loved it, but it got worse at 5:20 for me

  • greaT! mis saludos desde chile!

    excelent!

  • nice stuff, druming seems bit lazy but some nice guitar rifs!

  • you think the drums are lazy in this?.. you do realise what sort of music this is right?

you cant exactly be beating out roll after roll and crash after crash... it just doesnt work with slower music...

    ---

  • I think just the opposite

  • @TehPyroFang I do agree that you have to have the drumming suit the sound, however I disagree on that you definately cant. 65 days of static have plenty of songs with some extremely outstanding drumming, you just need to have the feel for it I guess

  • yes I am aware of the music genre, I just think the problem with Post-Rock is it is becoming hugely plagiarized and mimicked very badly so I just thought if you differentiated a little bit in conventions instead of applying the typical genre conventions, It could make it stand out more, I like the band on the whole though dont get me wrong!

  • Very nice

  • jeeea menguengue es chida la rola

    ta

  • nice! pretty tight sounding!!! maybe use different types of distortion if ur going for more Post-rock and less metal.

  • Could you name any good "post rock distortion pedal"?

  • lol, just a regular distortion.lol My guitarist uses a Line6 DM-4, which has some great tones! :P

  • Boss ds1 combined with boss rv5 sounds great

  • AWESOME.

The ending could've used some work. A little too 'metal'-ish.

  • Comment removed

  • love it

  • I liked it!

I could clearly see EITS influence, but that's really good! Keep up the good work.

  • excelente

  • Cheers kei, we've got a proper recording on our myspace with our vocalist. Lets just hope you post-rock purist still like it :)

  • awesome stuff

  • I love post rock

  • the ending sound like a Pelican influence, from mellow to heavy. i like your music. sends a great vibe.

  • pretty cool but whats with the metal at the end? that should be another song or something.

check out Hat Talk for postrock bands, from new orleans

  • Damn... I don't usually comment on videos, but I wanted to let you guys know that you kick some ass. I was just using your vid as background music, and was freaking jamming out. Reminds me of Dredg. Keep it up... please! We need more good music like this.

  • Ditto. Except i've never really listened to much post rock. Trust me, i'm checking out your other music and other Post-rock bands right now.

  • exelente

  • cool atmospheric one, keep on rockin' guys)

  • Yeah, we don't move much, but that was probably the 5th time we'd ever played it so we were concentratin on our fingers, not our feet. lol. It was a first practice though. We've settled a lot more at our gigs. We will put up a live video soon. See what ya think. Thanks x

  • I think someone was pointing a gun at them, threatning to shoot if they move!

  • in awe.

  • good shit guys . rly good shit

  • Well, thanks for existing

    that's all I can say.

  • Coz violin players and horn players aren't all that common in my crappy town. x

  • Horns over the top of this would sound pretty damn good, actually. At the right points, of course.

  • i like!

but i feel like you could better instrumentize your band. Why have the typical 2 guitars drums and bass when you could have violins or horns

  • the drummer really got to throw himslef more, it's really sound like he's holding back, listen to mogwai the drum plays a really big part of the music

  • I agree, he almost looks bored, he can do so much betterm make much more complex beats

  • great effort!

    i clearly feel EITS inspiring...

and for others dont forget MONO MOGWAI 65DOS

    yet melodic and explosive...

and from MEXICO i recomend AUSTIN TV...

    blue skies from MEXICO

  • Austin Tv is bad!!!!

    they steal melodies from EITS

i think they are a bad influence for the mexican music. I hate the fact of the disguise

    really

    i love Post-rock, i hate Austin Tv!

  • Best post-rock band ever heard .

  • Huh? Have you heard of Explosions In The Sky?? Easily the best post rock band in my opinion.

  • No offence, but EITS has some really boring stuff. I admit, they were the band that got me into post-rock, but I haven't listened to them since. This band is much more "vocal" and dynamic, some really great leads too.

  • @sheepsnowboard i wouldnt go that far mate lol

  • @sheepsnowboard try Mono they're good stuff

  • thats sooo nice :D

    love it!!!

  • hello guys, just want to know if u have done an album ? or if u'r making one yet .

  • hey mate, not as yet. we will have a few songs done in a studio in the next few weeks. so keep checking our myspace. if there good enough we might release a demo cd?

thanks for the interest and spread the word :)

  • that was great!

  • P.S The double bass pedal was invented to allow a drummer to do a fast rhythmic beat on the bass drum without over exerting one leg.

  • I'm lovin the feedback guys, although I'm a little confused, some people say were too ETIS and not experimental enough, and others think we've gone too far the other way. haha. Although eagles wings you have to understand our influences range from all the post rock stuff to electronica like aphex twin between the buried and me and isis. So in our eyes "heavy crap" ain't really all that bad. Cheers for your time. And have a listen to our myspace if ya get a chance.

  • WOAH! nevermind! i thought u guys were good until i heard the drummer break in with some STUPID DOUBLE BASS KRAP! (i dnt even know why some guy invented that STUPID double pedal thing) then you guys get all GAY and break in with this so called HEAVY krap! was good until i heard that ... come on guys ... go for more of the experimental thing ... u know E.I.T.S., DMST, and TRM type stuff guys! thanks :) good luck

  • GOOD JOB GUYS! LOVE IT! KEEP IT GOING! where i live nobody has even heard "so called" "post-rock" style music and probally wouldnt even like it because they have thier head stuck in some type of "have sypathy for me because im EMO and i like death metal!" WOO! woopie! these stupid EMO and METAL kids around here arent worth the broken guitar strings or broken guitar pics they throw on the ground...they're not even worth the dust that comes off of the drum sticks they use! ...thanks for the music

  • This video was shot at a local cinema that has been converted to allow young bands in the local area to have a practice facility. All our grandparents are dead.

  • nice studio. Which grand parents house is it?

  • i like this, i really do, keep playing guys, we need you in a world full of garbage

  • even if it is very ordinary sounding many bands were ordinary sounding and made a killing. but i dont want you guys to be rich; your music doesn't deserve to be heard by most people, they don't know what good music is. keep on keeping on! :)

  • i don't think music has to be new and unusuual to be good and creative. I think this is pretty good music, it has good feel for melody and rhythm and for a first jam song is pretty awesome really.

Not everyone can be godspeed or radiohead. Those bands come along once or twice a generation.

  • or 60 times every twenty years if you really want me to start naming all of the exceedingly different artists on my ipod alone.

  • Appreciate your honest opinion. This was our first jam as a band and took about 4 hours to write. We've got some newer songs up on our myspace if people would care to take a listen. A little less "classic" post rock sound hopefully. Thanks guys x

  • i am sick of generic eits sound-a-likes and to me this exactly what this track is. i am not saying its a poor track but ive been a fan of post rock for years now and im begining to lose faith in genre due to bands lack of creativity in trying to sound fresh.

its the way im feeling at the moment about the genre and i feel it needs to move away from the blatently obvious thats present in a lot of post rock like this.

there are a few bands out there doing something but these guys aren't.

    sorry

  • bass is too loud!!! drumms are perfect. 2.17 nice moment ^^

  • amazing guys just amazing

    keep it up

  • omg!! i wanna buy a copy! be quick with your recordings! nice job! keep on moving!!

  • Really like your sound and melodies. Nice to hear someone who play good melodies, there are a lot of not so good post rock bands out there. One of the better video camera recordings I've heard. :)

Just wondering, what's the story behind the name "The Widows Mite"? Just wondering, being a biblical story and all.

    God bless

  • oh yeah, and the theme you chose for this video. It's great! :)

  • Cheer dude, nice to hear some appreciation! for the name "widows mite" was a story of a homless man asking for help, a rich guy came and gave him 100, but the widow only gave him 3 quid but thats all she had, so in theory she gave more! but we arnt religious. i think jake is a Jedi? thats it i think

  • buen tema, me gusta mucho el post-rock. Que salgan mas bandas como estas..

    salu2.

  • Sounds good.

  • awesome guys!!!

  • good work guys!

i really love your delay sounds.

it really reminds me of EITS.

care to share with me about how did you get the sound.

are you using Boss Delay or Line-6 DL-4 or something else?

  • Exelente. Muy buena musica!!

    Tienen Myspace?

  • wow, that was nice. do u guys have any recordings?

  • No recording as yet, but hopeing to sort a demo out in August, when we decide where we are having it done :D

  • ah!im kinda a big postnerd! great stuff!

  • awesome!

  • me likey :)

  • wow, left hand, nice

  • im from uruguay. your music is universal!!! It makes think about my childhood

  • love the music lads im a big fan of post rock

  • loved it.

  • i love your sound. for the love of God, avoid sounding like EITS. 1 Post rock band makes it big, and every other post rock group has to emulate them. so avoid that. but if you guys have an EP, I would be more than willing to give you guys a listen. keep it up. :]

  • you guys are better than explosion in the sky.

  • these guys are good but explosions in the sky are better :)

  • No these guys are definitely better than explosion in the sky. explosion seem to be good only in the beginning, but after a few albums down the road, they still sounded the same without any progression. Honestly, I can't really tell their songs apart eventhough I listened to them regularly. You should check out Japanese post rock band Mono to get what I mean by real emotion.

  • dude, shut up

  • decent stuff guys! im trying to get some similar stuff happening at the moment. keep up the good work!

  • Great job you guys, excellent video response. :)

  • No EP as of yet, we've only been jamming for 6 months so we're getting enough decent material together before recording. We will keep you posted, just send us a message if ya wanna hear the ep when its recorded. Ta

  • i really like what u do guys ! where can we find ur EP ? cd ?

  • i love your sound hop u all make it

  • I'm happy to have found people in England getting into the post-rock scene... i thought iLiKETRAiNS was the only band getting off on this genre. Geuss there is more than a handful of you guys there. This song is a gem.

  • there are lots and lots of bands.
