I'm actually kind of tired of people calling Cloud emo and a stupid depressed child. His hometown got destroyed by his hero Sephiroth, his best friend died before his eyes, and when he meets Aerith whom he also likes a lot, she dies right in front of him. If all this happened to you, I'm PRETTY SURE you would be acting all emo as well. I don't care if he's a video game character, they made him to connect to the audience and he has succeeded in my opinion.
@CosmoTrance Not to mention it turns out the life he's living is a lie and he has to remember who he really is lol Also for most of the game he isn't emo I don't think. He goes emo after finding out he was part of the Jenova project and such, then Tifa helps him and he isn't emo for the rest of the game. Advent Children is what painted him as mega emo I think... In which he has an incurable disease lol At the end of the film he returns to his normal non emo self.

this song made me cry the first time i heard it when playing Crisis Core, i was palying it while riding in the back seat at night, the night and the chill of the wind just set the mood. it was sad though, Zack and Cloud running from their persecutors. i just put pause on the game and listened to it for about 10 min. after that set upon a quest to learn it on guitar, i did and now i play it all the time,i never forget the story of Zack while i play it, even though this song is a story in itself

It was Cloud who became a legacy actually (a legacy of Zack). Zack became a hero, and Cloud almost let all the bad in his life make him give up. He didn't though. In the end, he straightened out and made Zack proud. I have a lot of respect for both of them, but I have more respect for Zack. As much as Zack went through, he never even considered giving up. I say on a scale of one to ten Cloud would get a ten, but Zack would get an eleven ;-)
Do you have respect for George Washington? How could you have respect for a person you don't even know? Zack may be only fictional, but what he stands for is not. Zack's character is the embodiment of truth, honor, and selflessness- and that is enough to earn my respect.

But then again George Washington also no longer has physical form, for he is long dead and decomposed. They exist only in memories, writings, and depictions. Washington is more worthy of respect because at one time he did exist and all his struggles were real. I'm not sure if it is this one, but a piece simular to this was playing when Zack was trying to get Cloud out of Nibelheim (spelling? I'm a newbie X3), and it was just incredible, so emotional.
I already knew the outcome, but my whole heart was really rooting for him :')

FF7 always feels to me like a really excellent contemporary version of an old western (with a fantasy bent). The music of this game certainly has that kind of quality to it (to me at least :) Anyway, the music is awesome, the game is awesome, and Zack is especially awesome. For the way he lived, and the way he died.
It's magic on a disc. Crisis Core will be forever enjoyed by generations to come. This game is immortal. Anyone who has ever played it will forever cherish those wonderful moments...and do you know what makes this game so great? It was made with passion, effort and soul. Its creators were actually trying their hardest to produce this fantastic game...to Final Fantasy!
I wish they would make an alternate ending where Zack survives and then make a new Final Fantasy VII where Zack and Cloud both become mercenaries and then go on their journey with their other friends to stop Sephiroth
I feel happy that Zack picked Cloud to be his living Legacy! Cloud did a good enough job, carrying on Zack's name! Don't think of it as Cloud "Ditching" Zack's sword! He was making a memorial for Zack in the spot where "The Hero" had died! Cloud became a Mercenary like Zack wanted and fulfilled Zack's dream for his Legacy to live on! R.I.P. Zack! D';

@Urumaka It was mostly because of the fact, that even though he lost most of his memories, his subconscious wouldn't allow him to completely forget Zack's death! It was also the fact that he wasn't in his right mind at the time, he had headaches and flashbacks that could cause anyone to go crazy. Note: Sephiroth's betrayal and the whole fact that Shinra no longer remembered Cloud for who he thought he was, also had a part to play in his emotions!

personality wise cloud is so extremely different from zack and hands down: who wasn't annoyed by cloud after about 30 minutes into the game (the origial one)?
@genitur Sure, he had emotional issues, but who doesn't? He was Zack's choice because he was probably the only one of Zack's friends who stayed true to him! (Seeing as Angeal died and Sephiroth was assumed to be dead...) Anyway, he chose Cloud, because he saw potential in him and knew that he would go places with his life... and Cloud did if I remember correctly, he saved the world from Sephiroth and stopped ShinRa from fulfilling their evil plans, isn't that enough for everyone?

When playing the part right after you and Cloud escape the mansion, when I heard those violins rise at 1:20, I actually got chills, because I knew what happens in the end, and felt that the violins just drive that impact home. I thought: 'Damn, this must be near the end of the game', and just how great of a character Zack is, to be able to keep his chin up no matter what.
This song is epic. I was listening to a different song, and then I left really quick to get something. When I came back, my dog was sitting next to my laptop with this song playing. It's so epic she just had to play it herself. xD

In my opinion this song is the best out of all the tracks of this game and that is saying a lotttttttt. Great game with tons of great tracks. Price of Freedom and Under the Apple Tree follow. Although personally I've always liked FF7: Last Orders version of Under the Apple Tree. It was more acoustic and was just really nice.

FF7 always feels to me like a really excellent contemporary version of an old western (with a fantasy bent). The music of this game certainly has that kind of quality to it (to me at least :) Anyway, the music is awesome, the game is awesome, and Zack is especially awesome. For the way he lived, and the way he died.

It's magic on a disc. Crisis Core will be forever enjoyed by generations to come. This game is immortal. Anyone who has ever played it will forever cherish those wonderful moments...and do you know what makes this game so great? It was made with passion, effort and soul. Its creators were actually trying their hardest to produce this fantastic game...to Final Fantasy!

I wish they would make an alternate ending where Zack survives and then make a new Final Fantasy VII where Zack and Cloud both become mercenaries and then go on their journey with their other friends to stop Sephiroth

I feel happy that Zack picked Cloud to be his living Legacy! Cloud did a good enough job, carrying on Zack's name! Don't think of it as Cloud "Ditching" Zack's sword! He was making a memorial for Zack in the spot where "The Hero" had died! Cloud became a Mercenary like Zack wanted and fulfilled Zack's dream for his Legacy to live on! R.I.P. Zack! D';

@Urumaka It was mostly because of the fact, that even though he lost most of his memories, his subconscious wouldn't allow him to completely forget Zack's death! It was also the fact that he wasn't in his right mind at the time, he had headaches and flashbacks that could cause anyone to go crazy. Note: Sephiroth's betrayal and the whole fact that Shinra no longer remembered Cloud for who he thought he was, also had a part to play in his emotions!

personality wise cloud is so extremely different from zack and hands down: who wasn't annoyed by cloud after about 30 minutes into the game (the origial one)?

@genitur Sure, he had emotional issues, but who doesn't? He was Zack's choice because he was probably the only one of Zack's friends who stayed true to him! (Seeing as Angeal died and Sephiroth was assumed to be dead...) Anyway, he chose Cloud, because he saw potential in him and knew that he would go places with his life... and Cloud did if I remember correctly, he saved the world from Sephiroth and stopped ShinRa from fulfilling their evil plans, isn't that enough for everyone?

When playing the part right after you and Cloud escape the mansion, when I heard those violins rise at 1:20, I actually got chills, because I knew what happens in the end, and felt that the violins just drive that impact home. I thought: 'Damn, this must be near the end of the game', and just how great of a character Zack is, to be able to keep his chin up no matter what.
..and the poor guy was so close to Midgar, too..

In my opinion this song is the best out of all the tracks of this game and that is saying a lotttttttt. Great game with tons of great tracks. Price of Freedom and Under the Apple Tree follow. Although personally I've always liked FF7: Last Orders version of Under the Apple Tree. It was more acoustic and was just really nice.

@lonewolfestain You should try just buy it... where you live they have maybe a ''China town, Manga place'' Shop sell CD song of Square Enix game... is good to download some music on a album where the whole music is't really good... but is good to buy a album where All the music is good Crisis Core music is good so for some respect is better to buy it is my point of view... What do you think?
If they decide to make an remake of FF7, should they take Nobuo Uematsu for the Music or Takeheru Ishimoto? pretty hard, in my eyes.. both can give their composings a Soul..
