  • @MessIahmake It would be food.

  • @tim3jones Damn skippy.

  • dude that so freaking col im trying that right now

  • where are you its so loud

    ??????????????????

  • @BamfMan13 I was near a dam.

  • That's freakin awesome!

  • You dont just cook and eat the fish you have to properly fillet the fish and then you can cook it and eat it

  • That's cool man! Cheers for posting this video!

  • Hey man I learnt something here. Thanks for making the video! Appreciate it!

  • Doesn't that fish stings with some spikes it has in the back and shouldn't handle it bare hand like that?

  • @str8out I have did this a lot have not been sting.

  • Pretty cool man. Thx for the video post.

  • nice the only trap i make is when i put rocks in a line and wait for the water to go down

  • nice

  • wht happened to his voice

    good job btw

  • When he turned the camera off he came back and placed the fish in the trap. Then turned the camera on and was like ahhh look here.

  • i havt to give it to him that was impressive

  • what is a good bait to use in the trap?

  • @oneeyedwillification I like earth worm's and yellow grass hopper's

  • That was a flat head catfish not a channel or blue.

  • is there any specific gap you need for the V part of the trap so that the fish don't swim back out?

  • @devonman90 The V needs to be around 5'' in side of the trap, The fish can not fined the opening they go a long the edge of the trap.

  • @tim3jones ahhh, that makes sense, thank you

  • 9 people couldn't catch shit

  • Will this work in a Canadian Fresh water lake? Do trout, bass and muskee go into water that shallow?

  • thats awesome good thing fish are stupid

  • lmao, its pretty easy to catch one with a pole and put it in the trap

  • 1:24 - 1:57 should be entitled "Dumb Enuf To Be Et".

That trap reminds me of those damn metal ring finger puzzles the boss has laying on his humongous desk. Me, playing with the bosses metal ring finger puzzles could be entitled "Dumb Enuf To Be Fired" or "Jury Duty Pool"

I did not know catfish were attracted to Spam On A Toothpick. Hmmmm...

    Awesome vid. Kudos.

  • that is so awesome ima try

  • niccccccccccceeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What kind of bait do you use?

  • I've watched so many survival videos on Youtube, but I bet you if I was lost in the woods, I wouldnt be able to remember any of this. I would end up eating ants.

  • @ghostofpaulrevere Exactly what I was thinking about myself.

  • @ghostofpaulrevere There is nothing to remember on this my friend, study this if you cant get it. Nothing wrong with eating ants either.

  • @ghostofpaulrevere hahaha i could image you sitting there on a log whispering ants, ants, ants, ants while you pick them up one by one eating them.

  • Nice trap. looks similar to the old native turtle trap.

  • @michaelpewtherer Yes it will catch turtle to.

  • @tim3jones The turtle traps i've used are horse-shoe shaped with a swinging door at the open end held up by two "Y" sticks. The door is weighted and popped up with a thin stick. This stick is dislodged when a turtles enters for the bait...a peg in the bottom of the stream or pond outside the door keeps the door from swinging open.

  • I have done this before on a larger scale. I caught. 5 sunfish for bait for catfish.

  • Interesting - perhaps you could put up some more stuff on the Native American hunting methods.

  • Hey man I did same thing as u did in the video and whEn I came back to see my fish trap the branches were on the ground and the bait was gone .. What's the problem ? Reply me please .. Thank you

  • lets go camping call me!!

  • Damn, Ill try if I can catch fishes size like this, than survival is easy.

  • can it be used in the ocean..maybe right?

  • @SuperChargedChargers Yes it can.

  • omg thats fucking sweet! how do natives come up with these ideas? i swear.

  • @unphazed123 They where got about studying the wilderness.

  • @tim3jones i'm sorry but i dont really understand what you're trying to say lol

  • @unphazed123 I'll put in your inbox.

  • so how did the cat fish get in his head is bigger then the opening just sayin

  • @leoarmy88 For food the cat made it in.

  • @leoarmy88 I walked by with my string of freshly caught hooked catfish and dropped one into his little wooden pool. I put a 42 inch northern pike in his trap, but I fell down laughing then took it out because it wouldn't look right.

  • @KickDownDoors haha.....

  • That was awesome!! I am going to have to give that a try. Do you need anything more than a fishing license to fish like this?

  • @YoungAmericanOutback Here it's for a survival way to get food only , You need to check your fishing manual for your town.

  • Very cool, but since the clovis spear that dates back 20,000 years has been found all over the Americas, we must now call White people "Native Americans." The Indians came here only 13,000 years ago, so they have lost their status. Sorry, Injuns!

  • @aTellerOfTruths BWAAhahaha "sorry, Injuns" So cartoony!

Welcome to my Injun Casino, you Native 'Merkun !

The NEXT video: How to turn roaming buffalo into petroleum

  • Mountain dew code red in the background!

  • Amazing Video, thanks man. I am gonna try it just for fun!

  • did you say you live in oklahoma thats where im from lol mac-town

  • very cool

  • Great video. I have read of this bus seeing is much better. I need to try this. Can I ask how long you waited???

  • @skiball2001 24 hours.

  • Neat video, thanks for sharing.

  • Lol, i gotta try this

  • Does this work on European or African fish or just Native American fish? What about mixed race fish? Or fish from another country that grew up in the Americas?

  • @thanson77 Yes this trap will work in European or African.

  • @thanson77

No. European fish are much smarter. LOL. j/k

  • This trap was in the first wilderness survival book I ever bought but I've never seen one built. Good to see they actually work. Great video.

  • Do you need trapping license to make one ?

  • @maxinpains In Oklahoma this trap can be used only in a survival situations, i don't know the law's where you live in California.

  • @tim3jones Not in State of California. But under some special circumstance ,Yes.

This is just a informations for In a case some californians who wanted to know the laws...LOL

  • I gave your video a thumbs up but can you explain how a fish that only eats live pray and is bigger than the opening got in your trap?

  • @rollofnickles Yes the flat head eats live pray i had beef liver for bait , had as i was living small fish where going in the flat head was going for them, He got in the trap.

  • @tim3jones

it looks like square catfishh soap bait to me.

  • man, you probably just saved someones life with this video

  • @Pawliee888 That why i made this video hope it helps some one.

  • can you explain a bit more why they cant get out?

  • @halo39991 The fish can not fined the opening they go a long the edge of the trap.

  • @tim3jones Amazing that they dont just swim out the middle this would be such a life saver in a survival situation

  • @mark01318 Its like a minnow trap that you can get at the bait shop store, There 's a opening in it they swim around the edge of the trap.

  • @halo39991 you should check out my small game snare, its lots of fun to use and really simple, watch?v=sONvQVDe9_4

i've had all kinds of fun catching squirrrels

  • Really good video. I saw Les Stroud use a very similar design in the Georgia swamps on his show. Very effective and simple. Good Job!

  • Love your videos man! I want to try this soon.

  • Good stuff mate

  • How big do you think it should be for a 20 pound turtle ?

  • Awesome;-)

  • cool

  • @roynor Thanks Bro.

  • cool vid but where are u

  • may 28th is ma birth day =)

  • Very nice video, trap constructed whit ready available material and simple design, in a survival situation, just need tp find something for bait and you're ready to go.

    Thanks for sharing .

  • @AndreaGanora That's true one come look under a old log and fine some worms or grubs for bait.

  • Will this work for fish like bass and trout?

p.s. i love your videos, keep up the good work. I even had to post a few videos on face book for others to see.

  • @armyfreak95 Yes it will work for bass and trout, Thank you, That's cool...

  • @tim3jones um question may i ask you fish trap will it work anywhere where there is fresh water?

  • @xXFlattsXx Yes.

  • inst it american catfish ? they cause lots of demage in european lakes ...

  • @banished8910 The catfish was a Flathead catfish. they do no damage here in the USA.

  • @tim3jones yes it doesnt because its natural species there, but in europe the´re rather rare, but since they breed quite fast they do demage to usual european species ... you know what i mean :-) they were imported to europe as exotic fish but are pest unfortunately

  • @banished8910 I did not no that thank you for sharing...

  • i am sorry my english so bad. what kind of bait you use? i cant understand from vid. does is it broad or something else?

  • @PBonline2009 Bait was liver, The trap was made from stick.

  • @tim3jones liver - that mean internal organ?

  • @PBonline2009 Yes.

  • Excellent demonstration

  • @MrDarkTides Thank you.

  • Nice trap though! Very nice indeed.

  • @MoiselSpecky Thank you Moisel.

  • I am sure all fish and birds, anything edible that comes naturally, will be poisoned by our enemies who want us all dead.

  • How did that size of a fish fit through the opening in that fish trap?

  • SWEET I"m IN OKLAHOMA TOO

  • great job guy those rich dumb fuckers on wall street are going tostarve when the shit hits the fan!

  • are pretty much all fish edible?

  • @themachinegunn Yes most fish are edible here in Oklahoma.

  • the catfish was sat in the trap.

  • Great videos!!! They could really help you out in a sticky survival situation. Thanks!

  • @jacobdodson Thank you!

  • @jacobdodson Haha, "Sticky". that goes so well with the video :)

  • Simple yet effecitve!!!

  • pretty damn cool there. now all i need is to get stranded somewhere.

  • thats cool. if your in a long term survival situation you could build a pen the same style to keep fresh fish!

  • @dyffykins Yes you can and you can smoke the fish meat for a long time to store it.

  • @dyffykins That's true! Great idea...unless...a racoon grabs them, which they often do. But great idea!

  • Wow it really works in water that shallow?

  • @dyffykins i like to have a deep water near the shore of the water.

  • does it work on a beach?

  • @jaemin1223 Yes it will.

  • What other bait can you use besides a clam shell?

  • @crispyytoast worms.crayfish,cut shad,minnows,grasshopper,locust,grub worms.

  • WOW! All you need is some sticks to catch a fish like that?!?!? That is awesome.

  • @ashbm1 sticks and some bait yep.

  • awesome video!! im gonna try this

And could you also build a fish trap with rocks?

  • @DukeofColumbia I clean the guts' out then cook it. Yes you can use rock's.

  • awesome!!!

  • I bet this would be a great trap to use in tidal areas too you drive in your rods when tide is out when it returns then goes out again you should have plenty of fish in there probably some flounder.

  • damn... sir i give you props i like traps n such n bushcraft but i gotta say this is one of the most resourceful traps ive seen to just gather the sticks put them in place and have a bait.. thank you much sir.

  • @boomunderscore0 Your very welcome.

  • The native Americans would also weave reads in the walls of the trap.

  • what did you use for bait ? what can you find in the wild to use as bait ?

  • @polishfarmer I was using beef liver, You can use earthworms or grasshoppers.
