Personally, this song could be about a lot of things. In my opinion, it's about a guy who's tired of where he is and leaves. Finds this "perfect" girl, and says all these positive things like her shadow is a heavenly ghost, metaphors along those lines, and he's falling in love with sand in his shoes. With sand being literally hard to fall in, he says that he's falling for her without falling. He's safely falling in love with her.
