in my opinion harris hawks are the best bird you can get for this sport they are much easier to train and they are more social and affectionate towards people.
ye but with you saying that mate you sound like a person that doesnt like a challenge and seeing a gos go after a duck full flight and a harris missing it then i would choose the gos dont get me wrong the harris's are great birds but the speed and determination of a gos is unbeatable
The bird would appear to be a female Goshawk.Think they cost between £1200-£2000 british pounds depending on the breeding. Males are cheaper. You can learn more by visiting bird of prey centres, books and doing courses if you are in the uk. There are also hawking clubs around the country that you can join and receive help. A good website is the International Falconry Forum.
