I made 46 attempts at the last bit of this when his arm mutates I died soooooooooo many times! I gave up in the end I figured with the ammo, guns and herbs I had it was truly impossible. I've completed this game 11 times over the past 5 years I'm no noob either!

hmmm.... i find it odd how a knife does more damage than a fully upgraded magnum to the face... but oh well why do i complain? at least theres a way to efficiently kill him! and without using much ammo

True, it makes sense given that your encounters with Krauser pretty much scream "I'M WEAK TO THE KNIFE! USE IT WHEN I BECOME A BOSS FIGHT!"... but I admit, I didn't know the knife was that effective until I looked it up on the 'Net.

@TheGameMaster first time i fought krauser i was like "oh shit what the hell do i do?" and i was pretty bad at the game, so i spent countless minutes unloading the TMP, Mine Thrower, and a Killer7 into him and he wouldn't die and i ended up dying... My "number of times killed" counter went through the roof! then i looked it up and fought him with the knife, and when he died much faster i was like "... the fuck?"

You know you could of used the ditman glitch to knife him alot faster, I recently beat the game on pro doing that.

The knife was strongly hinted to be the best weapon to use against Krauser from the Knife Fight. As for why it works so well on him, I have no idea, but I am not going to complain. :^P

It's surprisingly easy when you figure out that every one of his attacks can be dodged via either a quicktime event or walking backwards, and then running straight towards him and slashing like a maniac right after he backflips away can be used to kill him in around 30 seconds. :^P

Yep. The only thing that does more damage than a Knife slash to Krauser is a rocket (and a P.R.L. shot for PS2/PC/Wii owners).

man when i was playing for the first time on PRO i didnt tried to use my tacnick with the rocket laucher than after i died 40 times (yes 40 times) i bought a mine thrower than after 20 moredies i was like fuuuuuck you krauser and i tried the knife , he only hit me 2 times on the last fight in my opinion is the hardest boss to fight in the first time.

actually... well i only play RE4 on ps2 so don't know about PC, so anyway you can just stand there and ready you knife, just time your attack when he's close enough, don't worry much about quick time event because you can neutralize it completely with your slash, if only he is in your range though. Don't try run up to him and knife, his attack is ALWAYS quicker than yours, i saw a same thing that happened to me in this vid, guess i'm not the only one.

That doesn't work... at least not for me. Most of his attacks outrange Leon's. If it's not dodgable via a quicktime event, you'll more than likely get hit if you're not moving backwards.

That plus the fact that you can't attack if the [ ] + X prompt shows up adds another disadvantage to standing there with the knife out.

Good tips though, I may try that if I redo this run. Thanks.

like i said, i don't play PC, just RE4 ps2 on my ps3. But believe me, yes, i did like bunch of times at cutting his attack, that would mean that the quick time event showed up but he KNEELs DOWN or gets slashed on his face. Any attack with range like striking you or cutting you from above, yes, you MUST respond to these quick buttons.Anyway, my way definitely works when he got slashed, then he backs up and he tries to run up to me again; just repeat like that until...

There were many reasons that I was unable to do a no death run on this playthrough, not giving a shit about deaths being a factor. My gamepad has no pressure sensitivity, the game was laggy and I wanted to get the game over with, so I rushed it, which inevitably resulted in lots of death.

Also, Krauser is a bitch on a stick, so that cost me some time.

2 ways:

1. If you have a thermal scope shoot the red bits (plagas) on it. If it doesn't die if you shoot it in the leg and it should have one in its back, shoot it but beware it could jump up and bite you.

2. stay medium far away from him. Shoot it in the leg. Let it do a jump run up and repeatedly knife it to death
