Yes Simulations like this are not as popular anymore because a lot of the gaming community is getting dumber and dumber. People want games they can master in 15 minutes instead of learning the intricacies of a more complex and often better game, which is much more rewarding.

Listen both games are based on realism and strategy, there just slightly differnet its a matter of opinon on weather its good or not, i know people that think ArmA2 is better and some think Ofp2 is better its just what you think, there are equal in realism and tactics its just a differnet feel on Ofp2 than on Arma so dont come complain about one game because you perfer another, many people think this game is great.

the game looks nothing like this in reality. graphics are kinda poor and the command radial looks different. the way the weapon moves in your hand is not as real as that either.
ArmA II is still more realistic then OFP2. It may not look as pretty, the voice acting is bad, and the bugs dampen ArmA II's rating. But the game is still more realistic. Bohemia Interactive is superior to Codemasters in my opinion. BI also has an amazing community of modders, hence the famed ACE mod.

Remember Callaghan this game was still in the making when this was posted so its most likely a lot better. In fact the visual affect is a major part of the game. The vamped it up from Arma 2
i think this game looks very real. my dad was in the u.s army so i have an understanding of what its like. his looks very real. only very big battles against actual armies which we have yet to see in he 21st centurie. im getting this game tuesday for sure
OFP 2 is not a simulator like the original OFP or ArmA/ArmA 2. It will of course be much more realistic than COD, which is essentially a Quake/Unreal type game with a realistic paintjob. If it weren't for Arma, this game would be a benchmark of realism; because of ArmA, this game is relegated to an intermediate between arcade and realism. It looks great don't get me wrong, but does not deserve the realism medal. I hope is it converts more players to patience and realism.
for me it looks like 10 seconds delay. at 1:00 he says fire for effect, first shells land at 1:10. There is also a little delay between first impact and the sound of it. when the soldier watches with binoculars the rangefinder says 530 meters to target. Sound will travel 300 meters in a second so in that matter it is quite realistic. I dont know if this is just a coincidence or is there are physics engine running.. =)
Arma2 has many problems one huge one being overclocking is the only way to improve performance as there is a engine problem that limits CPU usage at 40% per core and it doesn't use all ram aval or use the pagefile.
All confirmed on BIS forums by everyone but BIS because they are...I now think...Useless....I was a fan but it's time to leave BIS games for games that WORK....
And C&C generals sucked arse lol C&C 1 and RA1/2 were the best

If you play ARMA II on high details, then you are blown away of how much details the textures have. Somewhat near the qualitry of the texures in this video.
ARMA II also has such an awesome view distance, like in this video.

IMO Red Alert 3 or even the old Generals still kick ass.
Well ARMAII is still in its early state but it will be that good after many patches.
Its hard to run on even good rigs, but that was the same tragic at Crysis.
Such games are for future computers because of their incredible graphics and so on.

Wrong actually, I'm a gamer of both consoles and PC and Pirates have killed PC gaming.
Developers prefer consoles due to the fact that it's slightly harder to copy games for.

The Sims 3...Thats just the Sims 2 with a 3 on the end! lol Might be a good game but not to my taste.

As for C&C series that sucked ever since Westwood Studios got bought out by EA so to me C&C4 will be as tragic as Generals and Red Alert 3.
Arma II though what a bad game to put up on that list...Check out the BIS forums...No cock can run it properly lol And I have a full gaming rig a proper self built rig... I run everything pretty much perfectly but Arma II is just tragic in performance and still lacks the improvements it needs!
And PC games don't have higher replay value without mods.

Better my arse, you might as well be there in real life with graphics like the ones here. The trailers I've seen are pretty much up to scratch with the best looking games out at the moment, these kinda graphics aren't gonna be in an FPS (especially one of this scale) for a good while yet.

In ARMA II you play in Tschernarussia and the names on the map in this video are a bit the same like in ARMA II.
The gun sounds are also very similar to those in ARMA II.
So this has nothing to do with OFP2. The graphics of OFP2 are never this good than in ARMA II but more like a typical console shooter (like BF:BC)
I am sure this video was dedicated to ARMA II.

So I have the ARMA II since it was released a few days ago.
Guys....I tell ya something. If this video is something near real gameplay, then it wouldn't be OFP2 but ARMA II.
If you play ARMA II on high details, then you are blown away of how much details the textures have. Somewhat near the qualitry of the texures in this video.
ARMA II also has such an awesome view distance, like in this video.

looks really nice but this cant be ingame cuz if you look at the ground textures/geometry you'll see that it is far too detailed and complex to be actual ingame terrain but still nice CGI

The map in this video shows names like "Kazengrad". This sounds pretty much russian to me...

that game is going to be a million times better then arma 2 .. and trillion times more realistic coz i played arma 2 just take arma 1 and put latest acemod in, there u have arma 2 with less graphics .. and maybe a bit better character movement but thats it .. game sounds are mostly same and its hell buggy .. not worth buying it ill get ofp 2 for sure

did u ever watched the videos of ofp 2? its much more realism in there .. arma 2 just copied first parts acemod .. example: the animations for getting in and out of vehicles is still shit ofp 2 fully animates it ... same with weapon reloads and stuff ofp is much better in realism
