  • This boss reminds me of Yogg Saron

  • @ Rkoehorst Yea.. Pre-BC didnt have armor like they do now, which gives some classees 32-38k+ mana and u can just spam anything u want, also while having shit loads of mana regen buffs.. Wotlk is gettin pretty silly..

  • @MrCooperFTW agreed, i'm quiting this game for the old republic next year

  • @MrCooperFTW I must be playing a different game then because when i spam i run out of mana =X

  • my opinion is taht allys had a huge advantage pre tbc because of pallys, they had bos, bok, bow, bom, bop, loh, etc, hordes had shammys w/ totems, but it didnt really help cuz it was part wide, and usually only melee benefit mostly

  • Good seeing a horde guild rocking AQ40. Nothing personal, it's just a fact that ALOT of 60 vids are alliance.

  • To be quite honest, does anyone in WotLK even care about mana? No, because most of the time you won't go OOM? Back at lvl60 you had to be a hell of a lot more mana efficient, thus making it a bit harder than spamming everything all the time. This is my opinion anyways.

  • Also remember back then people had next to nothing when it came to HP and the slightest mistake usually ment death, Healers regen was also pretty horrid.

  • The healer didn't have much to do because she wasn't always in range of damage.. the chain lightning here was a big deal and spreading out was huge.. most of the wipes came from random gibs from chain lightning aka eye tentacle coming up on the opposite side of the room and casting while people were running to it, also servers sucked back then and it usually lagged hardcore.

  • I guess the hard part was the coordination of 40 people ^^

  • Seriously, this hard? The healer is just jumping around like a retard most of the time because she doesn't have anything to do. If blizzard designed an encounter this simple these days, people would claw their eyes out.

  • Lol, you have no idea of the coordination and tactics of C'thun. Read the tactics then come back later. Thanks. Oh and btw "If blizzard designed an encounter this simple these days, people would claw their eyes out. " err what? Ok lemme think, Naxx/OS/Half of Ulduar/ToC Normal. Yea...

  • Naxx was hard in vanilla. OS+3D was hard when you had T7. Ulduar gave us the hardest encounter up to date, Yogg+0. Many people thought it was "mathematically impossible" but it wasn't, it was just extremely hard. ToC normal is a joke, but there are still plenty of guilds who haven't managed to bring heroic Anub25 down.

People have gotten a LOT better at WoW after years of playing compared to the skill level of vanilla.

  • Pre-nerf this boss was stupidly almost impossibly difficult. If you didn't play Vanilla don't talk like you know about it.

  • Pre-nerf it was impossible. Impossible does not mean difficult. I can make a boss that hits for 7 million and spawns so many adds each second that he's impossible to kill, then have the best raiding guilds in the world wipe on him for half a year before FIXING the boss, who would then get killed on the same day. Would you call him the hardest boss in the world?

  • ....WHAT? we are in WOTLK, the most easy stage of wow, and you say people would complain for this being too easy?!

I guess you never raided this at 60, There are only 2 encounters in WOTLK comparable to this in difficulty:

    -Mimiron HM

    -Yogg HM

And i'm not talking about C'Thun pre-nerf. (that was just plain impossible, C'Thun is the only boss in wow's history that no one in the world killed before the nerf)

  • I'm not even counting the normal modes of wotlk, they are a joke indeed. But in short, I believe most of the hard modes in wotlk are more difficult than the raid encounters in vanilla.

Yes, I've raided at 60 and yes I've done the hm's of wotlk. This is my opinion which I derive from that experience.

I guess the sense of difficulty is subjective and therefore pointless to argue about. I mean, some people consider parallel parking difficult while some don't, who's to say who's right?

  • I believe it is the complexity (when we're talking about mmorpgs) of an encounter that makes it difficult and the encounters of today are obviously more complex than the ones we had many years ago. Blizzard has to keep making more and more complex encounters as time progresses so that veteran players can't just faceroll through them with their previous experience, but instead are forced to learn new, more complex mechanics.

Now, some parts of wotlk have been a total joke, that is true.

  • shit this guy was harder at lvl 60 with 40 people then yogg in 25man uldar

  • And about the same with 0 watchers

  • never!

  • Wait, do you mean 0 watchers helping?

Was C'thun really that hard? I sadly, never played during Pre-BC.

  • Absolutly

  • C'thun is probably the best boss blizz will ever come up with. So much coordination with 40 people, it's insane. It makes me wanna start playing wow again, but when I see this new crap....

  • lol I agree, C'thun was always my favorite. Look up Yogg-saron it is the last boss in Ulduar and is similar but complicated c'thun fight.

  • @anesslatina Yeah, Yogg-Saron is my favorite boss, quite awesome and quite complex

  • awsome song and nice heals for pre bc healing

  • is mediocrity still up and running?

  • C'Thun is one of the best, and most challenging encounters in the game. This video shows some of those complexities and the timing required to defeat him. If you don't time the vulnerabilities correctly you lose lots of DPS time killing off the large claws you see there in Phase 2. And Phase 1 is kind of a cakewalk once you get used to it, but if you are new to it that big red beam will melt you in a second. Still one of my favorite encounters of WoW, and one of the reasons I miss the game.

  • And now it's 5-mannable by 80s.

  • ahhh i wanted to join Mediocrity on my shadowpriest but i wasn't good enough.

  • nice music.

but i have to know, was c'thuin hard to kill?

cuz i read it a lot in places that he was an old GOD.

so was it hard to kill the old god?

  • He was considered impossible to kill before Blizzard nerfed him. It was after the nerf, that Nihilum got the world first kill on him within a couple of hours. Yes, he was very hard to kill.

  • viro likes sweaty man sex irl

  • dude, Antistar by Massive Attack is the best song ever. damn great video. damn dude..! awesome! hahaha. you should check out my massive attack vid.

  • Great music!

  • Thanks.
