  • Perfect! He is Sun Wukong!!!!

  • lol its my shifu

  • cool

  • EXELENT

  • The closing movements remind me of the film Forbidden Kingdom, as if he plucks out one of his hairs to make a copy of himself, hehe. I suppose he would have to be Taoist to even have any hair to pluck out in the first place

  • kung fu isn't about martial skill any more. In fact, its more about acrobatics these days. The Chinese government outlawed monks from practicing real kung fu around the 1960s. Shaolin Monks actually say that their kung fu would more freestyle and resembles MMA.....if allowed to practice. All these animals style do not work in real life situations, its just acrobatics. Kung fu is a joke now

  • @TheCandyMan01

so how many years have you been studying shaolin kung fu?

  • what's the name of the song ?

  • yo im crane my friend is monkey

  • martial arts rivalry are stupid. Martial arts encompass health, self respect, respect for others, and able to defend oneself and others.

  • its not matrial arts its just tao?

priem nobody nows and using шны secrets techincs cuose novbody not tell trust me

  • Haha nice monkey :'D

  • Huy du affe

  • almost perfect, but to truely immitate a monkey he has to throw his feces at the crowd, bigginers mistake.

  • Wooohhhwww damn he's good. Monkey style is one of thereatest styles i know

  • nice, exactly 0 "kung fu" attacks the first 4 seconds, just another acrobatic monk showing his new lifestyle in no way is this monkey style.

  • @bolawarrior This video is actually my sifu performing. He is a Shaolin Monk and is known as the Monkey King because of these forms. So yes, this is actually monkey style.

  • Epic walk at 0:04...

  • nice performance

like theater , this boy is 14 years maybe, ihr nasen

he is a monkey - free experssion of an animal

    respeckt-fetzt

    -°-

  • This is so fake... This is no Shaolin at all. It's more like what Communist China made out of it. Shaolin was free of gymnastics and free of mimicking animals. Sure you had high kicks and spinning kicks and the occasional ''animal-awareness''. But there was never a salto or anything as flashy. This is just bullshit to me. And it's sad that every time I want to look at real shaolin kung fu, I get this crap shoved in front of me.

This is just gymnastics mixed with fancy martial arts moves.

  • @Anandfulness Actually this is a Shaolin style. While its true that China modernized Wushu, Monkey style was around before that happened. The monk that is performing here is now known as the Monkey King by his Shaolin brothers.

  • @Dabeor The only real Shaolin style with worthy kung fu methods is Yau Kung Mun. All other so-called shaolin styles are nothing more but bullshit that the modern Chinese government has cooked up. Who do you think finances for this? The Chinese government. Just look at the movments that this ''monk'' is making. Nothing worth using in a real fight. Nothing!

  • @Anandfulness This particular monk actually knows at least one form for monkey style that was considered to be lost before Communist China started this change that you are referring to. I know this monk in person. His name is Shi Xing Ying.

Your assumption that it would not be useful in a fight is flawed. But seeing as you only think Shaolin Kung Fu is for fighting I can see where you got lost.

  • @Dabeor The spiritual aspect is important. But kung fu is still KUNG FU. Kung fu is not ballet or modern dance. This monk was not performing shaolin kung fu, he was performing a dance. The real shaolin style was both beautiful as deadly. Every technique was applicable (in it's time off course) and every technique was performed with proper chi. This monk has none of that. He can dance around like a monkey but he CAN NOT fight like one. This is by far the worst monkey form I've ever seen.

  • @Anandfulness That's funny because the monks themselves would disagree with you.

This particular monk is pretty much the best in the world at monkey style. Not only can he fight with it if he needed or wanted to he would do it extremely well. Besides. The form you are looking at right now is mostly defensive.

I agree that this is not Shaolin Kung Fu. But then again, Monkey style is not Shaolin Kung Fu so your argument is flawed.

  • @Dabeor It says ''Shaolin'' monkey style. And they are dressed like Shaolin monks. Sorry brother but this is just a show. He was probably picked out by the Chinese at a young age and he was forced to learn silly forms that have no practical use just so he can entertain westerners that don't know shit about kung fu. Ask any respectable traditional kung fu sifu. He will tell you the truth.

Well the CH government doesn't fool me. I've seen what they did in Tibet and I see what they do to kung fu.

  • @Anandfulness I still laugh at your knowledge of this situation. This monk is a very respectable sifu from the Shaolin Monastery.

  • @Dabeor Look, I'm going to make it really simple for you. Who is funding those monasteries?

    The Chinese Government.

The truth is: This guy and many others were handpicked by the government to become a showcase for the Chinese. To promote Chinese values in a westernizing world. He may be a monk, but he's definitely not Shaolin. Shaolin died with all the traditional sifus, spiritual masters and intellectuals that were killed in the cultural revolution.

So no, you are wrong. He's not Shaolin.

  • @Anandfulness It actually didn't die out. Traditional Shaolin still exists. This Shaolin monk knows over 300 forms. This is one of the fun ones that he demo'd. Traditional Shaolin is still taught though. This monk knows both Traditional Shaolin Gong Fu and Modern Wushu and teaches them both. He teaches Traditional only if you aren't interested in the wushu forms.

So no, you are wrong. He is Shaolin.

I was also corrected by my instructor later. This actually is an advanced Shaolin form.

  • @Dabeor it takes a real man to own up to his mistakes.... lol. I love monkey style, cause my chinese sign is monkey and my favorite animal is a monkey. when i was a little girl and somebody asked me what I wanted to do when I grow up, I said: I want to help baby monkeys who lost their parents. now I donate money every month to 2 different foundations who help monkeys. but my wish is to have a monkey orphanage myself.

  • @Dabeor

I initially did not want to involve myself in those kind of conversations anymore but it's been a while and now i think i'll say a few words..

Firstly.. I'm sorry for you, but this is not your sifu Shi Xing Ying - It was one of the monks in a shaolin-show team.

Secondly.. people seem to have no appreciation or philosophy for movement it seams.

I don't understand that "those moves are not shaolin, shaolin is blabla" - do i care? no - the monks in this video do have amazing flexibility,

  • @4chiti strength, endurance and dedicate their lives to it. They motivate others to start moving as well.

It's about as stupid as the argument about different martial arts and their effectiveness.

I think it was f.e. Ip Chun who said "if people learn the art to fight or defend themselves, the art will no longer evolve and die"

You train to stay healthy and agile until your life ends and be helpful - one of the monks in the video was 91y old and his flexibility made me look like an old man.

  • @4chiti If your (I'm talking to anyone here) master tells you anything like "Our martial arts is superior to..." or "ours is the only real.. blabla" he has obviously yet to learn what life is about. And i would not consider him/her a master.

Real masters can appreciate different styles and other martial arts. They are different, subjective and they evolve - that's why it's called "martial ARTs"

For me it doesn' matter that he's in a show team - I can appreciate his dedication to training. end.

  • @4chiti Actually, that is him. He mastered Shaolin Kung Fu when he was 12 and spent a lot of time travelling with the Shaolin show team before settling in the USA to teach martial arts here.

He himself has confirmed that it is him.

  • @Dabeor Are you talking about this Sifu Shi Xing Ying?

    - artofshaolin[dot]com/shifu.html

    - usshaolin[dot]com/shifu.html

I do not know the monks name i filmed.. maybe it's "Shi Xing Ying" too?

But if you are talking about the person in the two links i provided then I am again sorry to inform you that this is not him.

And thus i think it's strange that your sifu told you that he was someone else

  • @4chiti Frankly, it's irrelevant whether you believe it or not. I don't know why you think it isn't the same person but I know it is. That's enough for me.

  • @Dabeor here.. i uploaded a foto of him - it's te one on the left: img153[dot]imageshack[dot]us/f/sh7v[dot]jpg/

  • @4chiti He even has the same dent in his head. I'll be damned though, you may be right. His hair line is the same, he ears are the same, and theres the dent. But that isn't him.

It may be that this is a different performance than the one that Sifu recalls. Who knows. Sifu did do a lot of performances with the monks. He probably just confused this with one of the performances he did at the same location.

    Thanks!

  • @Dabeor I doubt it was at the same location though (only that year the monks were hosted there) but no problem and you're welcome. Keep training and stay healthy!

  • that monkey walk was bad ass! I should do that down the sidewalk!

  • pedazo de bestia!!! el video esta espectacular, pero lo grabo un mono de verdad!!!!

    la cagaste!

  • in 00:14 it is a horny monkey style

  • Quello con la cinepresa invece faceva lo stile del…cane! No anzi, chiedo scusa: il mio cane lo riprendeva meglio!!! :D

  • my eyes!!!!

  • he look like a damn monkey

  • Some I R Baboon Jungle sounds wud be funneh with this

  • Live above the influence ....

  • wow i like it!

  • That was craaazy! haha Very expressive and powerful no doubt. Sucks that it kept going in and out of focus, but the quality wasn't too bad!

  • id say its very good quality! it blurred a few times, but otherwise it was very clear! most videos on youtube are blurry or pixelated. very cool video though!!! :D

  • that looks so tiring

  • man id love to go to a shaolin temple it would be so graceful and an amazing expieriance

  • Oh man, I really see the monkey..

  • His footwork is incredible, he has such control!

  • @LordJoseifius the footwork is the most important in a fight. aside from fighting, you do walk on your feet, its best to be more agile and familiar with them than anything else.

  • That was... simply fantastic. I really wish there were schools that taught this close to brooklyn

  • hAhahaha xDD Excellent!

  • he is incredibly skilled

    and somehow adorable

  • the content is great but the quality isnt.

  • mann im sorry 2 say but he look like a DOPE-FEIN...hahaha

  • in many ways...such modern wushu styles are like gymnastics.... they involve big movements and prancing around. Thus I agree with you; gymnastics also takes much physical ability (except it's probably more upper body strength).

  • god crap camera.. very cool

  • Is monkey style for a kid like me thats skinny, wieghts 100 pounds, black, and tht would really dedicate his time in learning this type of style of kong fu and that is 14 years old

  • it would take you mabey 10 years to reach this man's leval and even father to master the style but if you got the money and you wana go to china for sure do it.

  • 10 years at least

  • Shi Xing Ying entered the temple at the age of 6. By the age of 12 he had become a master. He toured the world for a few years demonstrating his Shaolin mastery to public before settling down to teach in the United States. He currently has a school in Houston, Texas.

  • La persona con la telecamera è idiota!! non'è mai perfettamente a fuoco

  • He captures the personality of the monkey like I've never seen before in kung fu... spot on.

  • This is Shi Xing Ying, a 32nd generation shaolin warrior monk. He has been deemed "The Monkey King" by his peers, this video helps show us why.

    =D

  • lol it looked funny but i know he is deadlyyy

  • 14- 16... omgosh... XD

  • He done has worms...

  • WOAH that garden is so beautiful.

  • i think he does that for performance and hiding in the trees but shailon monks whould kick anyone but anydaay of the year

  • call it a show or call it an expression of martial arts, it takes very good athletic ability to do that 40 second form.

  • The dopeness!

  • Awesome vid

  • KRILLIN.

  • lol, the sequence from 0:04 - 0:07 alone would incapacitate me from laughter.

  • shaolin is awesome they have the best weapon and kung fu styles

  • amazing.... this dude would really hurt someone

  • Katas/forms aside, this demonstration is not true Shaolin. It's Wushu.

  • ooooooohhhrr! thats why goku wears the orange suit! monkey kung-fu! make sense now..

  • best quote ever

  • @Toro76aus The orange is the garb of the shaolin, not only of monkey practitioners...

  • @Toro76aus orange suit means murderer in jail.... lol! is orange suit also related to monkey style kung fu? or was that a guess?

  • @Toro76aus dude, goku was a shorin kempo fighter not kung fu

  • please name the music in background

  • i need know the title of the song pleeease!

  • 0:38 DID HE EAT A TICK?

  • I believe the main reason, correct me if I am wrong. But there are different styles of monkey. If I am not mistaken this is lost monkey.

If I have my facts correct a basic princiaple of this art is to appear clueless to your surroundings or seem completely inept. (I know this sounds like drunken monkey but that invloves staying on the ground much more than this style not to mention this is clearly not drunken)

  • even though this form was lacking in martial practicality, he did a great job walking and playing like a monkey would. 5 stars. I would give it for 4 stars for the camera focusing but... I read the info, unlike teewoods.

  • explain martial practicality. look at 0:33 seconds, that is advanced technique.

  • .33 is just him doing a flip kick or something like that. I am not dissing the form, it just wouldn't be practical. At the end when he pulls a hair from behind his ear, and blows it, makes me believe this is a monkey king form.

anyway, i know no all forms are meant for fighting, i was just saying. Almost nothing in here is practical.

  • thats the technique i ment by 33. i think ur right bout him blowing hair. but that whole technique from beggining at 33 to the end is definatly advanced martial practicality. its so advanced-"monkey play"

  • it may be advanced monkey play, and it is probably really hard to know. I know that I wouldn't be able to do it with out some help. However, "martial" means "military." So Military (martial) arts are meant for fighting and combat and though the move may be hard top phyiscally do, it wouldn't be good in a fight. The tough hard moves are often the ones that are just for show.

  • I agree with you both but you have to keep in mind that this an exhibition, obviously. Even in practical martial arts, Katas are rarely used in actual combat. With the monkey form, in practical combat, all of the monkey actions are used to let down your opponents guard to distract them. Let's be honest, if you were fighting some guy and he started acting like this man did at 0:05 you wouldn't know whether to hit him with a chair, run, or call the crazy house.

  • whoever took tht should be banned from using a cam

  • whoever wrote this should be banned from posting cause of not reading the info.

-eventhough the title says "read info"

  • @4chiti Old... but still doesnt make the focus any better... LOL

  • Dude that was awesome.

  • That was beautiful, man!! Pure work of art!!

  • sweeeet

  • that guy has good form. and it's meant for small people like him. it has a lot of powerful hits in it, but there are parts where they relax and gather themselves. if i had to say, that is his main style. he most likely knows many other forms of monkey.

  • That is fucking awesome...but maybe next time try auto focus or not letting a bat video tape the form

  • and maybe next time you read the info?

  • is this Shi Xing Ying ?...from Houston

  • lets have sex

  • awesome monkey imitation

    but where is the staff?

  • that would be cool but not al monkey martial artists do staff

  • wow he's pretty good.much respect

  • I think he was taking Monkey style a bit to literally. But yeah he looks like a monkey spot on ... his mum must be proud.

  • Awsome monket style. RDid a good job getting into chracter there :P

  • lmfao 0:15 funny as a faker

  • impressive... by far the hardest type of form i ever had to learn

  • excorsit and crack dont mix

  • he's good

  • lols he looks disabled

  • sweet

  • i agree

  • normal monkey style dude...still funny clip

  • Anyway, thanks for uploading the vid. The form is amusingly cute but very dangerous to go up against.

  • what style is he practising there?

  • The title says Shaolin monkey style... so what style is he demonstrating.... monkey style, yes?

  • no my bad i meant like lost monkey or drunk monkey or what

  • (sorry it took so long to reply) it looks like normal, if anything lost. I love this style. I ask my sifu to do this all the time.

  • Thank you for uploading this!

  • try buying a new camera... if we forget that: nice vid

  • saru

  • LOLWUT

  • the Monkey style ;)

  • Don't move camera and change focus next time;)

  • i quote my own description of the video:

"sry for the poor quality - the camera had auto focus problems"

  • that was really awesome

  • This guy is a monkey. He does this form good. Shaolin is truly the best.

  • i practice monkey as well and this is very impressive. you truly look like a retard

  • the whole point of any kung-fu style is to look like a retard, but still be able to kick ass!

  • Shut up.

  • who the hell are you?

  • I am you.

  • oookaaay.....

  • Actually the whole point of this style is to confuse your opponent and keep them guesing where the next attack will come from.I love to watch Monkey style and I wish that I could learn it.

  • i know. i didn't write that other comment. i had my page open a while ago, and he goes on watching random videos and posting comments.

    :D

  • Ah okay!!

  • monkey style is used to fight people that are generally taller or bigger than yourself.

  • nice lol but the part when he like humps the ground is messed how does that help you? lol

  • hmmm....let say you fell on the ground and is not able to get up fast enough....

someone is poking at you with a stick...you *humpp the ground* to get a away for a while from the stick and then you get up when you get the chance...more of a defensive measure....

  • you guys are funny - every single movment in a style HAS to be some sort of powerful technique to fight your opponent.

Ever had the idea in mind that learning a style includes simple movements that just focus on understanding it? i don't know if there is a sence in that humping part - but there are other animal styles where you stand in strange posissions just to imitate the animal. i won't be of use in a fight but it improves your style and thus eventually helps

  • Some of the smartest words i have heard in a while

  • I am sorry, but this is not Shi Xing Ying.

I filmed it by myself (still sorry for the camera)

I don't know their names but if you want to know - he's a member of the crew that visits Austria in January

And for more vids: i might start looking for the files - have no idea where i saved them :/ (on a DVD or something)

  • when was this filmed??

because this really look like him....

  • it was january 2006

and he doesn't really look like him in my opinion.. but the video quality doesn't really tell =) sorry

  • dude i wanna learn monkey styles, and drunken monkey, and drunken fist.... but no1 here teaches it.

  • its bad ass but he looked like a real crackhead on most of it

  • this is the funniest shaolin video ever

  • that is so cool

  • digging the monkey style, not so sure about the drunken camera man style though

  • o shiet that is shi xing ying

    after takin a closer look

    whoaaaaaa

    =D

  • i train under shifu

  • hey wut style is this of monkey?
