I agree completely. While it was really entertaining (Carmella dying while falling up the stairs was my favorite by far) it would have been better to have the "actual" years of death (or incident) for the hard core Sopranos fans out there.

But it was awesome to see my two fave shows of all time combined so creatively!! And excellent choice of music. Props!

I'm with you Lugosi31. The ending was great, but something so layered is always going to be lost on some people. If T had turned states it would have been awful, showing T being shot would be the typical American cop out showing the audience that all bad deeds are ultimately punished (too conformist and lazy). And happily ever after isn't dark enough for David Chase...so we got all three in one. And then some.

Sopranos started out strong, but was so contrived in the last season, you could tell the writers were tired and burned out. They should have stopped when they first talked about it. First of all a 40 something healthy woman dying from tripping on the stairs and not even hitting her head? Secondly, for a network to do the same or similar ending just over a year later on another one of their shows would be repetitive and unoriginal, two things HBO shows typically aren't. Which in turn makes them some of the best shows on TV. And finally that ending made sense for SFU because the show revolved around death.
