  • Jennifer, You will not be forgot. I will keep you.

  • Really!? She sings a song and has ideas that would make her world (and those around her) a better place. I guess that's clearly the mind of a crazy person, huh?

And the discussion here is if she's a tranny? I tell you what. Don't worry about being a man or being a woman, but instead, you should try to be half the PERSON she is.

  • uh.........that's a dude.

  • It is ironic that later that night, she passed away. Although she was different, people need to pay more attention to the intentions behind the things she said, and give her words a chance.

It doesn't matter what her sexual orientation was, because that had nothing to do with the issues she was pushing.

  • jennifer gale had just the same amount of rights to live as any stright person, transexual or not. this was my aunt. no matter what sexuality she was.

whoever messages and says hurtful things about someone who passed away so sadly has some issues that needs to be sorted out.

  • I don't think that she died of the cold. She was indeed an ex-marene

  • She is an inspiration at a time when hope is just around the corner.

  • He.

  • Incorrect, she. Don't talk about what you don't know- clearly.

  • I wonder what the bible says about being a tranny........

In all seriousness....we will miss her

  • The bible says nothing about abortion.

  • ok... ignoring the fact that... i guess "she" is dead now and focusing on the video... that was the WEIRDEST thing ive seen today. the song, her suggestions... if i didnt know any better id say she was joking.

  • If Jennifer could put herself out there, front and center, for a worthy cause, how can I do no less. I am shamed into action; inspired by her courage. What a tragedy that her voice has been silenced due to ignorance and intolerance.

  • I believe she's an Angel sent from GOD to help us all. I've never heard a more beautiful rendition of "Silent Night". We didnt deserve her. I wish I had known her. I'm not from Austin, but I must say "Shame on all of us" that we let this tragedy happen. Jennifer Gale seemed to be full of Life and Happiness. She's a better person than I am. To those that leave hateful comments for Ms. Gale may GOD forgive you, because I won't. What if she was your sister? Now she's home with GOD. RIP

  • Gordo says "Stay Hard, Jennifer."

  • jennifer was a beautiful soul. she cared so deeply for people. she was always so gentle and sweet. there was only one time when i saw her upset and that's when she got to an austin neighborhoods council candidate debate too late and they wouldn't let her speak. she was heartbroken. i didn't know she was homeless.

jennifer, rest in peace. may we take care of our homeless now in your name. RIP

  • If I had known she was homeless and had nowhere to stay I would have asked her to stay with us. How sad she died alone and cold. Poor Jennifer.

  • cont....She seemed like a nice person and she said hi to me when I glanced her direction from across the rows of seats. She was very nice and gracious. Every time a young child came by to say hi to her and welcome her to our hall she would crack a little joke about strawberries and jam and it would make the kids laugh as well as the adults. She will be missed. Love, Nicky

  • Poor Jennifer....I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses in a North Austin congregation and she came to our meeting and listened to our speakers the night she died. She was wearing that same outfit.

  • Is that really a man?

  • If Wikipedia are listening then file this as the definition of IRONIC.

    RIP

  • its weird she they said she died of cardiac arrest that night.

  • What a wonder, for her to sing "Silent Night" on the eve of her death. I am not from Austin, but I would have loved to have known and been friends with Jennifer. She was a brave soul that did things that I would never have the courage to do, such as sing at a city council meeting. She made a point to take advantage of our freedoms that so many of us take advantage of, like speaking up for our rights. I will sleep warmly in my home tonight, and I will pray for those on the streets. God Bless.

  • Jennifer changed my opinion. After moving past my own judgements, I got to know her. I knew her to be a kind sole, never an ill will or word toward anyone. To live outloud took strength. Thank you Jennifer.

  • What a beautiful soul.

    We love you Jennifer!

  • v-slice born born

    RIP

  • stay hard jen...... stay hard.

  • As a university employee I would run into Jemmifer many times. And I had the priv of knowing her for several years. She was a beautiful person who cared for every one including myself As I write this blog I am getting tears in my eyes. How very sad! I know this wonderful person is in heavan, God bless Jennifer Gale.!

  • thanks 4 writing that, i was saddened to run into her myspace and see all the hatred in the comments people wrote to her.

She is now in a much better place where she won't b homeless anymore.

    RIP

  • Stay Hard.

  • It seems very mystical that she chose to sing this song and that this was her final public words. Perhaps something good will come from such a horrible loss of a wonderful life.

Roblescatalan, Jennifer was a very independent person and would have turned down your offer to put her up in a hotel, and in reality, this would just be a bandaid to the real problem. Take that money you would have used and do something positive to help all the homeless in Austin. Do it in the name of Jennifer.

  • RIP Jennifer Gale

  • This has got to be one of the saddest days of my life. Had I any idea that Jennifer was sleeping on the street with it freezing outside, I personally would have put her up in the Bel Air Motel or somewhere else. This is America, dammit, people should not be freezing to death on the street. Jennifer Gale was one of the nicest people I have ever met. Words cannot even express the sorrow I feel.

  • : (

    rip

  • It's a sad day. She was always so kind, and if everyone got as involved as she did we'd all be a lot better off.

  • SOO sad! I loved running into to her.

  • R.I.P. Jennifer!
