  • Whoa, that's REALLY cool! I didn't know cool old stuff like that was still in service in the US. Living in Kalifornia with the draconian pollution laws SUCKS! Thank for posting!

  • Didn't the tapered profile of the long hood on BL1s & 2s help the crew get better rear visibility for switching?

  • Nice looking locos.Great footage.

  • No doubt that's the oldest loco that's ever pulled those CSX hoppers.

  • Yeah, well when EMD manufactured the GP-7 & the GP-9, it's designer thought of it as such an ugly diesel that no railroad fleet would want to purchase it. He thought wrong

  • really really neat video thanks

  • good looking FA and F unit. However....entirely too slow

  • Marland! Maryland, still enjoy your videos Jack

  • @CSX trackworker You're right, but only for a short while. Afterwards, EMD overruled with the GP7, & then the GP9.

  • I hate to have to say it, but the BL2 was one ugly locomotive. Maybe that's why only 59 of them were built..

  • @thecarolinamudcat It was emd's weak attempt to make a competitor to alco's rs3 unit's in the branchline locomotive production. The BL2's were not maintenance friendly ugly and a complete failure. Alco still ruled with the RS series engines after this.

  • Whats with the covered hopper at the end of the passenger train?

  • Its a refer that has been converted to a tool car. They take this with incase of mechanical problems. You will see it in my other WM clip. Thanks for watching. Jackmp294

  • no its a HEP car to power the lights in the cars

  • salt cars

  • srry not in this video. they now run salt cars behind the passenger train and drop them off down the line now

  • I love me some BL-2 action!

  • hoo was running the freight train??? AWESOME 5*****

  • Im just glad the WMSR can keep the spirit of WM alive. WM you may be gone but you are not forgotten.

  • its not the WMSR

  • theres a BL-2 working somewhere around elkins, wv.

  • That's the one. This train was heading to Elkins, and so was the passenger extra. Thanks for looking. Jackmp294

  • @bigdan4712 theres also a MONON BL-@ operating in central KY at the KRM

  • I thought WM was gone? When were these videos made? In any event, neat footage. The Bangor and Aroostook had a bunch of BL-2s, I think the D&H did, as well.

  • WM is gone. I believe this is a tourist operation.

  • Click your heels and say after me:
