It's been confirmed that Zelda won't go back to buttons anytime soon. What with the Wii U being compatible with Motion Plus Wii Remotes, expect motion controls like in Skyward Sword.

If you research the specs of it, it has significantly more processing power than the ps3, and much better graphics capabilities. As for the release of the next Zelda... I would guess late 2014 at the earliest. Keep in mind that the last Zelda just came out, and miyamoto is currently working on a pikmin game, so yeah, it will be a while.
@MrCrackheadSpoon You know, I've been listening to the 25th anniversary CD a lot, and there's a lot of familiar parts from the CD that I hear in the video. And the demo originally didn't have sound, so most likely somebody just got the songs from the CD, and edited certain parts together. They did a GREAT job, too, and they really didn't change much, just changed things around. But I do wish this could be an actual arrangement : /

@Nitsirtriscuit 'the critics' don't have any say in anything. 'the critics' are a joke. They don't critique games so others know what they're about, they do it for money. Promoting companies hire them to write FOR a game and others to write AGAINST it--They're all marketing ploys for people like you who read the article instead of watching ten minutes of gameplay on youtube. This could very well be BS, as you're thinking, but if you take any two articles for the same game they wont match up.
Rehashing the old games was not a 'lazy ploy'. Nintendo made much more on those games than the Halo series, COD(XBoxes), or any other you care to bring up. Also, there were probably personal reasons too--Miyamoto isn't in the industry for money like Microsoft or Bungee--He does it because he loves to make things others enjoy. Read any of the biographies, they all say he started in the toy business because he liked to make things that other people like. Again, KYS.

For those of you who disagreed with my comment, I was just saying that TP could be remade in order to improve it's motion controls(making the similar to SS) and it's graphics to make it look like this tech demo. Plus they should also make a TWW remake(once again, it's just a suggestion).
@MsFarore It so would. Navi and Tatl were easily the two best Zelda companions there have ever been in the series. Midna and Fi were just too big and talked way too much.
They will probably remake the older Zelda games for the Wii U. They always do this with video games and movies when they get better technology. I am excited.

@HyruleWeirdo I was really put off with the cell shading in skyward sword. It was like a whole step backward. I'm not saying that windwaker wasn't fun, but twilight princess was beautiful.
I was so disappointed in nintendo when i saw the first few videos of skyward sword. I'm glad they are going back to serious graphics, and i hope the story of this game is as dark as people are implying. :)

I like the area graphics, excellent reflections, but link himself just looks stupid, and cartoonish, they should just stick with link's look from ocarina of time, it was perfect, he looked serious and didn't look like a cartoon at all, all they need to do is make the graphics better but link himself should look like he did from oot.

I am not an extremely "sick" -as some say- fan of Zelda, I am a damn fan though... i bought a 3ds just for ocarine and four swords and of course i am buying a wii U but after they release this -high- possible game... Yes Zelda owns me -_-... but i am still extremely upset for the Zelda edition of the 3ds... 'coz it took me a lot to save the money, buy my console and months later the special edition... Tech demos don't ever amount to anything you idiot. They're completely meaningless and are nothing but scripted, per-ordained films that don't use any dynamic processing (such as physics or even ray-tracing). Considering how long it takes them to release Zelda games without HD graphics you can bet your ass that it's gonna take them even longer for them to develop one with them. They even said that a new Zelda won't actually look like this, meaning they'll keep the weak graphics.

@KratosBlueAngel4 I have many personal favorites, no Nintendo title really stands out to me as being great (except maybe Warioland). I like Street Fighter, Parodius, Half-Life, hmm... there's more but I can't remember them off the top of my head. I actually feel kind of sorry for people who have Zelda/Mario titles as their absolute favorites, it shows they haven't experienced much in gaming and have a sheep mentality.

Ehhh that josh guy is exactly what his name says... Psycho. In a more important note... If you research the specs of it, it has significantly more processing power than the ps3, and much better graphics capabilities. As for the release of the next Zelda... I would guess late 2014 at the earliest. Keep in mind that the last Zelda just came out, and miyamoto is currently working on a pikmin game, so yeah, it will be a while.

@MrCrackheadSpoon You know, I've been listening to the 25th anniversary CD a lot, and there's a lot of familiar parts from the CD that I hear in the video. And the demo originally didn't have sound, so most likely somebody just got the songs from the CD, and edited certain parts together. They did a GREAT job, too, and they really didn't change much, just changed things around. But I do wish this could be an actual arrangement : /

Rehashing the old games was not a 'lazy ploy'. Nintendo made much more on those games than the Halo series, COD(XBoxes), or any other you care to bring up. @HyruleWeirdo I was really put off with the cell shading in skyward sword. It was like a whole step backward. I'm not saying that windwaker wasn't fun, but twilight princess was beautiful.
I was so disappointed in nintendo when i saw the first few videos of skyward sword. I'm glad they are going back to serious graphics, and i hope the story of this game is as dark as people are implying. :)

I am not an extremely "sick" -as some say- fan of Zelda, I am a damn fan though... i bought a 3ds just for ocarine and four swords and of course i am buying a wii U but after they release this -high- possible game... Yes Zelda owns me -_-... but i am still extremely upset for the Zelda edition of the 3ds... 'coz it took me a lot to save the money, buy my console and months later the special edition... Tech demos don't ever amount to anything you idiot. They're completely meaningless and are nothing but scripted, per-ordained films that don't use any dynamic processing (such as physics or even ray-tracing). Considering how long it takes them to release Zelda games without HD graphics you can bet your ass that it's gonna take them even longer for them to develop one with them. They even said that a new Zelda won't actually look like this, meaning they'll keep the weak graphics.

How do you know they will never make a game of this production budget? They have tons of money. I'd say just wait, I'm sure they're willing to try. @PsychoJosh Well to be truthful, neither of us really know how nintendo works. No they're not cheap. They put heart and soul into many of the games they produce. And not all games on 3DS are ports, many are original titles like Kid Icarus Uprising. That may as well be a new IP. You're making it sound like PilotWings was the only title they brought to the 3DS. Also you're making judgments over a console that we barely know anything about.

@TheBiggamer64 You're right, they also lazily rehashed Zelda OOT and Starfox 64. Kid Icarus Uprising looks like garbage and is a lame entry in an incredibly lame series. The other companies put heart and soul into many of the games THEY produce and they do it far more effectively and with higher production values. Nintendo IS cheap and lazy and do not want to spend much on creating new games which is why they rarely release anything good. SMG and Skyward Sword, that's all.

@PsychoJosh Of course the one decent example I use is classified as garbage in your rights. And just so you know, Miyamoto is working on an entirely new IP. Nintendo cheap and lazy? Skyward Sword and SMG were better than any other game I played this entire generation. They're not cheap they just like to do certain things differently. Miyamoto said himself he's not interested in realistic graphics and I commend him for that because its getting tiresome.

They rarely release their games because it doesn't take two weeks to make a quality game like Zelda, 3rd Party developers didn't bother giving the Wii a chance half the time which resulted in a lack of software. Yet nintendo proved time and time again with their games that Wii was capable of great experiances. Can't argue with that logic

As of Jan. 28, 2012; 5 of 10 topselling are Nintendo titles 2 are PS3 # 9/10 are Xbox 360.

@KratosBlueAngel4 I have many personal favorites, no Nintendo title really stands out to me as being great (except maybe Warioland). I like Street Fighter, Parodius, Half-Life, hmm... there's more but I can't remember them off the top of my head. I actually feel kind of sorry for people who have Zelda/Mario titles as their absolute favorites, it shows they haven't experienced much in gaming and have a sheep mentality.
