it doesn't look like any of this should've happened. truex has a little run on him and montoya desperately tries to block, cuts him off, and goes all the way across the race track. that was pretty stupid. he set himself up for something to happen. then he tells the media how he doesn't appreciate harvick grabbing and shoving him... montoya instigated all the grabbing and shoving! as far as what the camera shows, harvick looked pretty calm (physically anyways), montoya was being a dickhead.
Both of them need to kick Truex Jr.s ass because it looked like he did more than bump the 42. He bunped him and kept pushing into the corner knowing damn well it will wreck him.
Harvick has been known for taking shots at other drivers: Biffle, Kurt Busch, Nemechek, Rudd, and so forth. But Harvick seems to have a biggest feud with Kurt Busch out of every driver he has feuded with.
There's something I really don't understand... If you are going to defy someone like Montoya, blocking his car and having a few insults for backup, aren't you better off just staying in your car and keep going. Montoya is a guy who doesn't mess around, he's proven that hes not afraid of any Shumacher or any Harvik. Of course he had to block because his setup consists of a longer 1st gear because that gives him and advantage on the corners but slower on the runoff.

Well, it wasn't truex's fault. Montoya hit the brakes hard. But it wasn't montoya's fault. In reality it was Harvick's spotters fault. He should have let Harvick know Montoya was there. It was just an accident. That's racing. Harvick over reacted and made himself look like a fool. I then think he relized after seeing the replay cause he wasn't really sure what to say in his interview.

I really wouldn't say truex punted him either. After the initial shot they both recovered and Harvick turned right into montoya. The accident was Harvicks fault. The replay shows it and Harvick knew after watching it. Made himself look like a fool.
he was definitely tapped from behind.. he made the necessary corrections. that's all you could do. you can't make a strong counter steer or a wheel hop or worse slam on your brakes. you would end up with a bigger crash. this is different from touring car races or open wheel slips.

Even if he hadn't gotten a tap from Truex, odds are that he would've taken out someone else trying to slam on the brakes or wheel hopping it (like Gordon did). I think what Harvick did was watch the replay and relized he made a fool of himself and came up with an excuse. As far as Montoya goes, getting out of your car I don't think is illegal since they were under cation and he was off the track. But it was probably unnessusary. I think Montoya added injury to insalt to Harvick when he drove away still on the lead lap and all Harvick could do was go back to the Garage for the day.

It was no ones fault really. Even Truex. I think truex was not breaking in as much as he should of been or didnt break in time, and got in the back of Montoya. Harvick shouldnt of took his anger out on Montoya, cause i think Montoya was trying to tell him that someone got into him, but Harvick wouldnt listen. it doesn't look like any of this should've happened. truex has a little run on him and montoya desperately tries to block, cuts him off, and goes all the way across the race track. that was pretty stupid. he set himself up for something to happen. then he tells the media how he doesn't appreciate harvick grabbing and shoving him... montoya instigated all the grabbing and shoving! as far as what the camera shows, harvick looked pretty calm (physically anyways), montoya was being a dickhead.

There's something I really don't understand... If you are going to defy someone like Montoya, blocking his car and having a few insults for backup, aren't you better off just staying in your car and keep going. Montoya is a guy who doesn't mess around, he's proven that hes not afraid of any Shumacher or any Harvik. Of course he had to block because his setup consists of a longer 1st gear because that gives him and advantage on the corners but slower on the runoff.

Gentlemen, most of you miss the point. An incident, on track, where two drivers get out and shout at one another and begin fighting IS EXACTLY WHAT WE WANT. Sure, both guys are assholes on and off track. That's a fact whether one cares to acknowledge it or not. These incidents make NASCAR interesting.

Well, it wasn't truex's fault. Montoya hit the brakes hard. But it wasn't montoya's fault. In reality it was Harvick's spotters fault. He should have let Harvick know Montoya was there. It was just an accident. That's racing. Harvick over reacted and made himself look like a fool. I then think he relized after seeing the replay cause he wasn't really sure what to say in his interview.

Yeah. I'm just saying. You can't really blame it on truex for hitting him. It's a sharp corner and they both had to get hard on the brakes. Montoya just happened to get on them first. I really wouldn't say truex punted him either. After the initial shot they both recovered and Harvick turned right into montoya. The accident was Harvicks fault. The replay shows it and Harvick knew after watching it. Made himself look like a fool.

Even if he hadn't gotten a tap from Truex, odds are that he would've taken out someone else trying to slam on the brakes or wheel hopping it (like Gordon did). I think what Harvick did was watch the replay and relized he made a fool of himself and came up with an excuse. As far as Montoya goes, getting out of your car I don't think is illegal since they were under cation and he was off the track. But it was probably unnessusary. I think Montoya added injury to insalt to Harvick when he drove away still on the lead lap and all Harvick could do was go back to the Garage for the day.
