i have super 44's on my 4.8l silverado and it sounds good but i want my cats off but the guy that did my exhaust said it will mess up the censors, does anybody know if it will from experience? it cost me $300 for single in dual out
wondering what dual exhaust i should go with for my 2005 silverado regular cab 4.8. Just looking for alittle more horse power and alittle louder sound nothing to crazy
Flowmaster 10 series aka race series muffler is the loudest that they make, because it's a single chamber design. but if u haven't had flowmaster exhaust before u might wanna look into the original 40 series or super 44, both loud when romped and nice idle and just great sounding in general, but the flowmaster 10 series is really loud.
Usually if you stick with si/do (single/ dual out) muffler you will gain hp, maybe around 5-6 hp depending on restrictiveness of the muffler, but since the flowmaster 10 is a single chamber muffler which is the least restrictive flowmaster muffler it allows for a better flow of exhaust gasses which makes it louder and gives u more hp and torque. I myself have the 40 series which is a 2 chamber design and i definitely noticed some more hp and low end torque with mine, and it sounds great.
Yeah I got a 4.3 v6 Sonoma with Si/Do Flow master original 40 and I get complimented on it, but it's just right, not too loud, but not too quiet. That's probably what you are looking for, you want good sound but not annoying.

That truck right there is exactly what I have at the moment, same sound and everything. I'm gutting my cats and putting on some headers... It will sound so sick.
then flowmaster 40 series would be perfect...its mild noise at idle, pretty loud when you get on it, and you can barely hear it in the cab when your cruising.
also, if you want a good smooth tone...almost no cab noise and a great sound when you lay into it try a magnaflow. im a flowmaster fan at heart, but the magnaflow gets you away form that old noisy flowmaster and still gives you a good sound and preformance.
Corsa (sport model, not touring)makes a nice stainless exhaust. Pretty mild at idle and light throttle, but very nice at full throttle. They are getting pretty expensive however. Check out StylinConcepts.com. They have everything.
hows it in the cab, real loud or not to bad? i just got a 07 and thinking bout doing the same. sounds good. id be courious to see a vid of you gettin on it also.
flowmaster super 40 or regular 40? is that single inlet and dual outlet, or a "Y" pipe behind the muffler? is that just with replacing the muffler or did you remove the cat?
thanks for the video just got a 4.8 and looking at doing the same.
post up moving video of getting on it if you can.
flowmaster regular 40. single inlet and dual outlet and i did not replace my cat, just the muffler. when i get time ill try to get a video up of me getting on it.
Hey man that sounds great I was wondering what it sounds like when cursing on the highway? I am looking at a similar setup but I do a lot of highway driving and I was wondering what you thought of it around town and on the highway? Is it really resonating into the cab or is it actually quiet? From the sound of it that it only is loud when you get on it. Sounds good though man, good looking and sounding truck!
its not that loud when just cruising. i mean you can hear it but you can still hold a conversation while driving, but when you floor it, thats a different story
All my life I'm been driving Ford and I dont have nothing against Dodge and Chevyat that time , but I have say something, last year I brought a Silverado 5.3 Z71 and is very nice truck, I'm going to drive it next month of march for 3200 miles to see how is work is a crew cab.
You have two of them in your garage thats fucking awesome. I want a Silverado but drive to far to work everyday and cant afford the gas. But nice truck. Love the noise the black emblem and the fact its a chevy.
