@aznboy283 Sure, use OpenOffice Writer. You can use it just as you would use M$ Word, if you were willing to pay a few hundred dollars every couple of years or so. You can save your file in OO format, in M$ Word format, as PDF, and much more.

also if u want a free prog check the google version they have documents,spreadsheets & whole bunch of other things u can do on there i stumbled across it few months ago by accident i said hmmmmm i never knew about this so ya just go to google home page & look up on top left where it says different tabs like maps images etc.... think its under documents. just choose your template & go at it.thought id mention this to techtoniccs program cause u dont have to download this....

I've got Open Office portable on an USB stick but haven't used it much. I only need Word and have an old version on my computer. I was wondering, if you save a .doc document in Open Office Writer does it always open fine on Microsoft Word, no matter what version of Word?
