i dont see why you'd want to change something gold to silver nitrate but if properly prep'd it can be done. now on the other hand using this technic to chrome something then applying gold candy concentrated will give a mirror gold look which ive done!

Activator to activate the base. Aka acid. Rinse off. Silver nitrate and pure purified water MIXED with reducer and the same water mixed. Then rinsed off with water and dried. Let sit to let vapors release then cleared. Yes anything can be chromed.. ;)

Ive been spraying for years boats cars bikes n shit.. but the concept of hosing the shit out of a surface with waterý materials to the point of it absolutely pissing off the surface.. treating it, hosing it off, drying it then squirting chrome on and still the excess is pissing off the face.. @filip1260 its basically spraying on silver nitrate, which is "silver'. its NOT chrome at all, but its super shiny like chrome. Not as durable which is why they clear coat it. The process basically just sprays it on, and you cant put too much on which is beautiful.

think of the shiny part of a mirror, same stuff.

@JgHaverty true its not chrome because chrome is clear the shiny stuff on a chromed part is actually nickle and chrome is a clear coating that goes over the nickle.

Looks like they finally figured out a better way to do chrome, because lets face it.. Spray paint sucks ad we know it.. Chrome treating is only possible on metals normally and takes baths of chemicals to create a finish like this. My question is are they painting plastic because that would be even more impressive we all know you can't under normal means electroplate plastic, and what we see here looks like metal.

this stuff is garbage. if you get one part in 20 to look good, youre a pro. ive used it, bought it then scrapped it. it started as fantachrome.it then alsa corp renamed it, then cosmichrome knocked it off, then spectrachrome knocked it off too. its all polyester based cancer causing shit. get your parts vacuum plated. cheaper and will last if you clear them with an automotive uv resistant clearcoat. it costs $900.00 in chemicals to do one motorcycle. its not worth it a business even if it worked

I think its like Brush Plating but its being sprayed instead the I do know the Chemicals In Brush Plating do have Cyanide Acid.in them I would hope this stuff doesnt have that or the guy spraying would have a face shield on. and the camera girl would be wearing the same gear. anyway I like to do a whole car like that. thats badass.

@InsaneJim this is a Spectra Chrome system,,its a basecoat that you that you charge with hydrocloric acid,then spray with DI water then you spray a silver nitrate solution on it ,,the silver will bond to the basecoat,,then you topcoat the silver with clear and you can tint the clear to make diff,colors of chrome,,,but they dont tell you that this shit is the hardest and most sensitve stuff in the world only about 1 out of every 10 parts you do will look good,,,just the system is $10,000
