  • i like the v8's, but to all you people saying a v6 is for people that don't know anything about cars, i own a 07 4.0 mustang. just because i own that doesn't mean i don't know anything about cars. in fact, me and my dad bought it totaled with mechanical and cosmetic damage. we then fixed it ourselves and it looks like new. how would i do that if i didn't know anything about cars? a v6 is great for a college student who can't afford a v8 gt yet. 28mpg. 210 horses. leather interior. i'll take it

    The V6 also goes fast enough for me, 225km/h.

  • why would i dedicate my time into a base model? why would i start lower so i can have the step down suspention, sound, performance, options? for about the same price you can get close to the same gas mileage if you drive it nice, you get true dual exhaust (beastly sound if you ask me) fog lights, gt bumper, much more quality parts, gt suspention, a V8! like its suposed to have. the v6 is literally the single most fucked up idea on the planet. same with the v6 challenger, charger, 300 etc

  • not really, s4 and v6 are two completely different class cars, i would never waste money on a car that would last me probably a year or two in my state, and with the way i drive, and of course id pick the 60k car over the v6, you would have to be retarded not to, i would take the base line because it makes more sense as an everyday driver, but for fun?   • European supercars aren't the best anyway. You can put almost any kind of engine in any car and make it a beast. There are plenty of vehicles faster than lambos and much cheaper. Owning a Lambo is like saying "Ha bitch I can afford a Lamborghini." More prestige than anything. I'd take a 2005 stang anyday over the others, just because you can make them so much more powerful if you know what you are doing. Though unless you mean the look? I can agree with you there. :) All American here too.

  • 1983 and 2001 mustang gt actually, (01)stage 2 thumpr cam, heads, headers, full exhaust x pipe, low compression pistons for a little something to come as a winter project :) (83) mother thumpr cam, bbk headers to x pipe, edelbrock carb, gt40 heads and intake manifold, high compression pistons and forged crank. and both not that expensive...... cheaper than your brand new v6 with nitrous that you had to have installed by someone else that you call NOS even though its ZEX

    The V6 mustang is the fastest car UNDER 20K! And we are talking about NEW cars. You can have your GT with it's aluminum block and powdered rods. There are MANY Procharged 4.0s at around 440 RWHP. The cars dyno in the area of 182 RWHP stock. Try and produce a 240% gain on a stock GT longblock and see what happens. Not to mention the 4.0s with Powerhouse turbo kits pushing VREY close to 500hp ant tq. Ive seen a 4.0 run a 10.7 1/4! Is that not impressive?

  • I've driven both, the GT is just that, a GT. The more u push the gas the more u go... The v6 is no slouch either, it's a light car with a big engine... = speed

    if u like the Mustang thats all that matters, there is always something faster.

U need to really push on the V6 to get to the stock V8. the feel of the V8 is just different than the V6. to drift a V6 u really need to push the car and accelerate with full throttle. but its different with the V8! drive it and ull feel the difference! the new Mustang V6 is good in other things but not power

  • Just bought a V6 2008 two days ago. LOVE it. I never even considered the GT. If I lived in a nicer year round climate and wanted to race I would have shelled out for the V8...My V6 beats out the majority of cars on the Chicago city streets and looks EVERY bit as cool as the GT...Better MPG and when I'm going 87 on the highway passing a GT because he's afraid of the ticket...what's the difference?? In a race he's got me whooped...as far as over all driveability and pleasure?? No need to compare!

  • @zclary923 I drive a v6 myself. This car is my ride year round, I love it. It's not necessarily meant for racing, but there's plenty of room for upgrades if you choose to go down that road.

  • All the V6 haters need to find a new hobby. Ever hear of the Shelby CS6? Why would Shelby be making V6 mustangs if the engine was crap? The 4.0 V6 is an awesome engine, the only reason Ford is choking it down to 210hp stock is so they can sell more GTs. Just an intake and exhaust on those engines nets 30 more hp. The Ford 3.5 liter V6 in the Edge makes 265hp, so you know there's more potential in that 4.0

  • A lot of u guys are idiots. Do u realize how much potential the s197 v6 mustang has. The v6 is a 4.0l v6, thats pretty damn big! Especially considering the v8 is a 4.6l. Thats not that big a difference. There are so many people with v6 stangs that would destroy most ls1's, ls2's, and many other v8's, quite easily! Especially considering how relatively inexpensive the v6 is!

  • There is no way a 4.0L V6 mustang will beat a LS1 or LS2. If your going to upgrade the mustang it's only fair to upgrade the LS1 too. Stock vs stock, or mod vs mod. Don't race a modified mustang against a stock LS1 and say "my mustang beat a LS1". No your modified mustang won.. instead go heads up against a LS1 with the same amount of money dumped into it. The V6 will lose as badly as a stock GT.. at least the GT won't sound like crap.

  • Totally untrue, dollar for dollar the V6 S197 Mustang will beat an LS1. In that dollar figure, you also have to factor in the price of the car itself. An S197 V6 is only 17 grand brand new. Dump 6 grand for a turbo into that amount to bring it up to par with what an LS1 used to cost brand new, and you've got an 11 second Mustang.

  • I was talking about the people who modify their mustangs to the point where it's hardly stock, then brag when they beat a stock LS1. But back to what you said. Although that is possible, a V8 sounds better, probably the same gas millage as a V6 turbo on boost, and the V6 does not last nearly as long, then put a turbo on it... it won't last long at all. There is no replacement for displacement. Not to mention having to claim the turbo to your insurance so they don't drop you for fraud.

    I don't know why you claim that an aluminum block V8 will outlast an iron block V6. That's just simply not true. The 4.0 is used in SUV's and trucks. They last longer than the aluminum block V8.

    And why are you bringing up insurance and MPG shit? We're talking about modded engines and racing, not grocery getting. Your argument is as lame as comparing drink holders and leather trim.
