just physics , the principle is called resonance

first find two glasses that are identical, pour water in one of them, then put matches onto it.

get the second one and pour in small amounts of water to fine tune the sound. eventually you reach resonance when the sound waves created by the first glass is have the same frequency as the ones created by the second glass.

in other words, if played , the glasses have to make the same sound
