this game is fucking rare as shit on the ps3, in western canada anyway, ive searched every store that sells video games askied if they could bring it in for me and whenever someone trades in a copy its out the door right away ahaha i had this for the 360 and spent hours playing it hahaha is alot of fun, then i got a ps3 anyways if you ever see this game pick it up i said fuck it and got the second last copy on amazon and the last stratagy guide on both amazon and ebay good luck finding this

Because there are a few cheaters out there doesnt mean you should not play it ofcourse, multiplayer takes every game to the next level, no bot plays the same as a human player. Matching yourself with others is great with a game like this.

I play it on PS and the multiplayer is great, but like i said, connecting to another player is a bitch, 9/10 attempts fail but once you connect with one or more players, its really fun.

i used to play this on ps3 but allways strugled to get 3 other players in a game then on the rare occasion you did 1 or to left the fukin game so i ended up trading it, plus the game has no trophies, apart from that it is a good game and id concider getin it again if theres a decent size community which i doubt there is

I've never played it online, but I should have. I get realy tired of the CPU cheating. The stationary boats with self replicating troops and cities that can simulataneously produce infinate troops and yet still beat me to building wonders by 1 or 2 turns. Sigh.

It usually takes me 2 -3 hours to finish a game, depending on how you win. There are several different Civ's and 4 different ways to win. I've been playing for a year and a half and I'm not bored with it yet!

It's been over a year and I'm still playing it (I played it earlier today in fact). If you have a PS3, you should still be able to download the demo and try it for yourself. I love it, but that doesn't mean you will.

The difficulty makes them tougher to beat (and let's them cheat more). The years stay the same. They try to win harder via culture, tech or economics.

I played a game on Emperor today where the Romans won out of nowhere in 1900. I was like WTF? I never even saw them the whole game.

I never play Civ before this 1 and I loved it. I went back and got Civ 4, because of this, and I only played it once. My god, the tech tree was a wall poster!

If someone really likes the strategy aspect, I can see how you'd like 4, but for "gamers", this is just about right. Not overly technical, but fun.

The agressiveness of the Computer depends mostly on the difficulty setting, but also on your condition compared to them. For example, if you are already producing Cannons and Riflemen while a computer is making Archers and Horsemen, they are likely to leave you alone. Once you start getting close to victory they almost always wage war with you, however. Of course every now and again the Computer just makes no fucking sense and will randomly declare war or ask you for peace

its a big big game, with nearly no problems, online is great too, but way harder to manage a huge civ.

dunno why but for me the comp is pretty passive, allies with me often and usuall fight each other. although i dont settle much. if anyone has travian this game is the ultimate version.

Passive? What difficulty are you on? I've won with every civ on every diff except diety. I'm getting my butt kicked. So far, I've only won with the Zulu's. I've lost 6 straight with the romans on diety. I'm getting REALLY tired of have a 3:1 combat advantage and lose over and over and over and lose cities.

I've never played this online ,and doubt I ever will.

For me, the length of a game depends on how many cities I have. If I have a lot of cities, it can take me 3 hours to finish. If you play online, I would think it would take longer, but I don't know.

Time slows down at the end, too. At the beginning, a round is 100 years, and the end, a round is 2 years.

I'm addicted to it. It's a fun game to play for a few hours, then move on to something else. The AI would, OCCASSIONALLY declare war on each other, but mostly the player, even if another AI was about to win. Last week's patch was supposed to correct this, but I haven't playing it since then (too many other games recently as you can see from the vids I've posted this month).

lol. It does seem strange that a leader known for peace is in a game of global domination with the like of Alexander and Napoleon. I think he learned his lesson though, because he's a little badass in this game. 8^)

True, but when you play the game, you are always fighting. Even if you try to win economically, all your neighbors are trying to kick your a55.

Napoleon is my #1 pain in the a55. The French always seem to win culture victories and convert half my cities.

The game is fun, but shorter than I thought. You can finish the game in about 3 hours, but with each leader in each category for victory, and each difficulty setting, it has a lot of play time.

This was the 1st PS3 demo in nearly 2 years that actually made me want to buy the game. Although several made me NOT want the game. 8^)

The demo is hard to beat because it ends earlier than in the real game, but it is possible.

There are 4 ways to win 1) Military - destroy the other 4 civs. 2) Economic - Aquire 20,000 gold. 3) Cultural - Build the U.N. 4) Scientific - colonize space.

To start, defend your starting city until you can spread out and build new cities. Then decide which victory path you will take. Then direct the cities to help you in that goal.

They call it a turn based strategy game. Basically, there are 5 leaders( out of a dozen or so) starting at the same time with a village and a few warriors. Everyone makes a move at a time to grow in, military strength, technology, culture and money. You win the game by dominating in any 1 of those 4 areas.

There is a demo on the PS3 store, if you have one.

I don't know how many are online. I've only played this twice, and I doubt I'll ever play it online. I think it's 4 players online battling each other.

I did have some slowdowns, which is strange considering that this is not a graphics-heavy game with lots of movement on the screen. You can see some of it in this vid. However, I know a lot of people have had lag issues since the last firmware update.

I agree with Hinderer. They are very different types of games. It took me 3-3.5 hours to finish this game I edited to 10 minutes.

Don't get me wrong, I really like this game, but it's definitely not an action game. I've never played MGS, so I can't comment on that.
