du da gib ich dir recht die möchtergern sänger/innen die wo kein gefühl zeigen beim singen sowie die kellys zum beispiel kellys vergessen text oder verdrehen da was dann wird mal gelacht sowie bei one more song. und die möchtergern profis rihanna oder so sind dann enttäuscht weil die das text vergessen haben wo bleibt da der spass oder kellys haben immer die fans unterhalten die konnten mit denen lachen oder auch mal weinen.
Man merkt das die Kellys an dem Tag sehr angespannt waren. Ich und viele andere können den Kellys nur raten einen großen Bogen um Sendungen wie Eurovision Song Contest, Supertalent oder sogar DSDS zu machen das haben die nicht Nötig sich auf so ein Niveau herunterzulassen dafür sind sie viel zu gut und hatten mehr Erfolg als diese Eintagsfliegen die heutzutage auf der Scheibe laufen.
Ich könnte mich auch noch aufregen, wenn ich das bebuhe am anfang höre. Das war mit abstand das beste Lied an dem ganzen Abend! Und das sage ich nicht nur weil ich Kelly Fan bin. Die sind doch nur auf Platz 4 gelandet, weil vorher so viel Scheiße über die in der Presse stand. Da war es doch egal ob es der Brink, die Ireen Sheer, die Corinna May, Joy Flemming oder sonst wer war, alle hatten se vorher auf den Kellys rum gehackt. Tja und sowas konnte die ARD dann doch nicht zum Grand Prix schicken.
Corinna May hat noch nur gewonnen weil se Blind ist, aber keinen Ton treffen konnte!! Und wie die Kellys die Stimmen verloren kam doch später raus. Die ARD hat die hälfte der Telefonleitungen für die Kellys gesperrt bzw. Anrufe gar nicht gewertet. Das haben die doch hinterher, als es in die Presse kam doch auch zugegeben, aber da war der Grand Prix gelaufen. Ich wette die hätten den Grand Prix in Tallin Haushoch gewonnen, dank den Fans in ganz Europa und dieser tollen Ballade...
@Fawkes1985 Deutschland war immer ganz scharf auf einen Erfolg beim Grand Prix... Damals war ich auch der Meinung, dass sie mit diesem Beitrag die besten Chancen auf einen Platz unter den TOP 5 hätten... Eben weil sie Fans in ganz Europa haben... Als ich das Voting-Ergebnis gesehen habe, war mein erster Gedanke, dass da irgendwas nicht mit rechte Dingen zugegangen ist...

Corinna May ist doch nur gewählt worden, weil sie schon zweimal vorher am Vorentscheid mitgemacht hat! Kellys forever... sie haben aber beim Vorentscheid Platz 4 in einem Teilnehmerfeld von 15 erreicht, was auf gar nicht schlecht ist.

Ich hab es damals auch nicht verstanden, warum sie nicht gewonnen haben. Maites Song hatte 1000 mal mehr Gefühl und Tiefe als zum Beispiel Corinna May, die an dem Abend gewonnen hatte. Aber machmal geht es nicht um Musik, sondern um andere Dinge und dass so viele für C. May angerufen haben , lag bestimmt nicht an ihrem " Wahnsinns-Song", den ich persönlich grottenschlecht fand. Und das nicht nur, weil ich damals Kelly-Fan war...

Das Telefonvoting war ein Witz.Die Leitung der Kellys war dermaßen überladen ,dass sie zusammengebrochen ist und kein Fan mehr durchkam.Wäre dies nicht passiert,hätten sie locker den 1.Platz gemacht.
Wäre dies einer anderen Band passiert wäre es sicher ein großes Thema gewesen aber es hat sich ja keiner drum gescheert und es wurde vertuscht.

For real...this wasnt very good...in my opinion she was too nervous, she acts confindent but thats not what shows and sounds through her vocals...paddy as the best performer and vocalist of the family should had took the lead vocals of the song..to me he got his own voice and thing...people in the end werent properly claping their perfomance...again if was paddy singing this that would gone much further.
I don't think you need brains to understand it. I'm not that smart and I get it. I know it's gonna sound stupid but rather than brains you need heart. Or to be more precise you need to feal music not just listen to it. Put your own emoution in it... I like this song. It could have been better but I like it. "I can't help myself" is getting more and more popular again in my circle of friends. First because they made fun of it but in time the realised it's an amazingly well put together song.

About the instruments. Paddy can play 11 differant instruments. Barby 3 And the rest is between them. They are alone in ther kind. I love them for 30 years now.

I know about the Kellys. In the USA they had infomercials trying to sell their "music". No luck. If you're going to sing in English, your grammar and idiomatic expression needs to be correct. Maybe it sounds better in German. I like music in other languages, Arabic, Persian, Urdi, Hindi, French, Gaelic. But that vibrato thing they do... I think it's a Spanish affectation...ick. I won't even start on the sentiment. And I still want to know what Papa Kelly was running from...

I agree with you for the most part. I think part of the reason that Paddy Kelly is the most popular is because he doesn't have that same vibrato. So many of their songs are sung as if they don't actually understand the words. Their cover of "Let it be," for instance, is just horrible. As if they never actually heard the song. But the songs that Paddy leads on seem a lot better, because his grasp on English, although clearly not perfect, is a lot better. An Alien, for instance... Calling Heaven..
Hi as far as i know their father Danial Kelly was an american. He was merried the second time with barbara. She had parents from 2 differant countries. Finnish? and? They lived a short time in ireland and Paddy is the only one who was born in Ireland. Afther a shot time they went back to spain because mama Barbara-Ann went ill from cancer (god have her sole) One thing is sure. I love them all with all my hart and i miss Johnny, Barby and Paddy in the group.

Um ehrlich zu sein verstehe ich nicht wie die Stimmung gegen die Kellys so umgekippt ist. In den 90ern saumäßig erfolgreich und heutzutage werden sie von den meisten ausgebuht. Ich bin kein direkter Kelly Fan aber ich mag ihre Musik, sie ist einzigartig und gut vorgetragen. Die Kellys hätten beim Grand Prix sicherlich viel besser abgeschnitten als die anderen Pfeifen die in den letzten Jahren für Deutschland angetreten sind, Max Mutzke ausgenommen.
Sie wurden schon in den 90er Jahren von vielen ausgebuht... wegen der Haare, der Kostüme, etc.
Leider stehen die meisten Menschen wohl eher auf das Niveau von "Deutschland sucht den Superstar". Es spielt keine Rolle, ob die Texte eine Botschaft tragen (Blood z.B. gegen Kindersoldaten, I'll swim gegen Tierversuche). Hauptsache, der Sänger sieht gut aus. Deutschland sollte stolz sein, dass sich jemand wie die Kellys dennoch mit diesem Land identifiziert.

There had been something wrong with the telephonline. I heard the same story from a lot of fans a week later! Come on...they became fourth, after New Generation who were worse a thousand times! you're right, she is not a great singer, but none of them is really. what makes this song so touching is it's authencity. there performance is honest, and she's performing it in such a emocional way that you believe in what she talks about.

Die ARD hat die hälfte der Telefonleitungen für die Kellys gesperrt bzw. Anrufe gar nicht gewertet. Das haben die doch hinterher, als es in die Presse kam doch auch zugegeben, aber da war der Grand Prix gelaufen. Ich wette die hätten den Grand Prix in Tallin Haushoch gewonnen, dank den Fans in ganz Europa und dieser tollen Ballade...

Corinna May ist doch nur gewählt worden, weil sie schon zweimal vorher am Vorentscheid mitgemacht hat! Kellys forever... sie haben aber beim Vorentscheid Platz 4 in einem Teilnehmerfeld von 15 erreicht, was auf gar nicht schlecht ist.

An der Stelle, wo nur das Keyboard spielt und dann die Drums dazukommen,

Das ist so ein emotionales Lied, und es ist sehr schade,
dass sie nicht damit zum Grand Prix gekommen sind,

Ich hab es damals auch nicht verstanden, warum sie nicht gewonnen haben. Maites Song hatte 1000 mal mehr Gefühl und Tiefe als zum Beispiel Corinna May, die an dem Abend gewonnen hatte. Aber machmal geht es nicht um Musik, sondern um andere Dinge und dass so viele für C. May angerufen haben , lag bestimmt nicht an ihrem " Wahnsinns-Song", den ich persönlich grottenschlecht fand. Und das nicht nur, weil ich damals Kelly-Fan war...

Das Telefonvoting war ein Witz.Die Leitung der Kellys war dermaßen überladen ,dass sie zusammengebrochen ist und kein Fan mehr durchkam.Wäre dies nicht passiert,hätten sie locker den 1.Platz gemacht.
Wäre dies einer anderen Band passiert wäre es sicher ein großes Thema gewesen aber es hat sich ja keiner drum gescheert und es wurde vertuscht.

For real...this wasnt very good...in my opinion she was too nervous, she acts confindent but thats not what shows and sounds through her vocals...paddy as the best performer and vocalist of the family should had took the lead vocals of the song..to me he got his own voice and thing...people in the end werent properly claping their perfomance...again if was paddy singing this that would gone much further.

I don't think you need brains to understand it. I'm not that smart and I get it. I know it's gonna sound stupid but rather than brains you need heart. Or to be more precise you need to feal music not just listen to it. Put your own emoution in it... I like this song. It could have been better but I like it. "I can't help myself" is getting more and more popular again in my circle of friends. First because they made fun of it but in time the realised it's an amazingly well put together song.

es wurde immer gebuht...irgendwo tun sich immer Löcher auf, aus denen niveaulose Leute herauskriechen und sich anstandslos verhalten.
Aber die Kellys waren stark und haben ihren Fans als Vorbild gedient, selbst stark zu werden.
Und dass manche Menschen einfach nicht mit gefühlvollen und nachdenklichen Liedern zurechtkommen, zeigt mir nur, dass viele das wohl auch verlernt haben, in sich zu gehen und mal nachzudenken. Die Kellys haben das und vieles mehr ihren Fans an die Hand gegeben

die meisten sind solo unterwegs...paddy tritt immer noch auf, aber in klosterkutte und kirchlichen liedern auf kirchenfesten, aber ist noch total genial, der gute...barby ist krank, glaub irgendwas mit der psyche, joey, katie, paul, patrica, maite und jimmy treten ja noch gemeinsam auf, aber besetzung ändert sich hin und wieder, dann ist joey für seinen extremsport bekannt, jimmy singt auch auf der straße, allein; john ist in spanien und singt mit seiner frau... und jimmy hatte drogenprobleme

I know about the Kellys. In the USA they had infomercials trying to sell their "music". No luck. If you're going to sing in English, your grammar and idiomatic expression needs to be correct. Maybe it sounds better in German. I like music in other languages, Arabic, Persian, Urdi, Hindi, French, Gaelic. But that vibrato thing they do... I think it's a Spanish affectation...ick. I won't even start on the sentiment. And I still want to know what Papa Kelly was running from...

Besides it's a really often mistake to say "if I would..." when you're a speaker of some Latin language...In my laguage, for example it's correct, and has a more difficult grammar than English has!

You Europeans (actually I'm European, too, I'm an Irish citizen) are the first to ridicule Americans who dare attempt your languages. I'll listen to what I like AND comment on what I don't like. This is the COMMENT section, not the "tone-deaf, tin-eared, sycophantic praise" section. Your Latin grammar is irrelevant when the lyrics are in English and grate on native speakers' ears.

I agree with you for the most part. I think part of the reason that Paddy Kelly is the most popular is because he doesn't have that same vibrato. So many of their songs are sung as if they don't actually understand the words. Their cover of "Let it be," for instance, is just horrible. As if they never actually heard the song. But the songs that Paddy leads on seem a lot better, because his grasp on English, although clearly not perfect, is a lot better. An Alien, for instance... Calling Heaven..

Hi as far as i know their father Danial Kelly was an american. He was merried the second time with barbara. She had parents from 2 differant countries. Finnish? and? They lived a short time in ireland and Paddy is the only one who was born in Ireland. Afther a shot time they went back to spain because mama Barbara-Ann went ill from cancer (god have her sole) One thing is sure. I love them all with all my hart and i miss Johnny, Barby and Paddy in the group.

Um ehrlich zu sein verstehe ich nicht wie die Stimmung gegen die Kellys so umgekippt ist. In den 90ern saumäßig erfolgreich und heutzutage werden sie von den meisten ausgebuht. Ich bin kein direkter Kelly Fan aber ich mag ihre Musik, sie ist einzigartig und gut vorgetragen. Die Kellys hätten beim Grand Prix sicherlich viel besser abgeschnitten als die anderen Pfeifen die in den letzten Jahren für Deutschland angetreten sind, Max Mutzke ausgenommen.

Sie wurden schon in den 90er Jahren von vielen ausgebuht... wegen der Haare, der Kostüme, etc.
Leider stehen die meisten Menschen wohl eher auf das Niveau von "Deutschland sucht den Superstar". Es spielt keine Rolle, ob die Texte eine Botschaft tragen (Blood z.B. gegen Kindersoldaten, I'll swim gegen Tierversuche). Hauptsache, der Sänger sieht gut aus. Deutschland sollte stolz sein, dass sich jemand wie die Kellys dennoch mit diesem Land identifiziert.

Die Kelly's hatten damals immer ausverkaufte Konzerte, das muss erstmal ne Band schaffen in den ganzen Jahren, bis heute reden noch viele von ihren Konzerten, das positiv, sowas gibt es leider nicht mehr. Und die Leute die sie ausgebuht haben, haben einfach keine Ahnung... Gehn aufs äussere, sie sind so geblieben wie sie sind und haben sich nicht verändert trotz Ruhm wie jeder andere

No, this was the show where they picked the German song for the Eurovision Songcontest. The Kelly Family didn't win the show ... so they didn't went to Eurovision.

i'm not a big fan of this family, but there performance really got me chicken skin. i can not understand how the trash song of corinna may could have won.

Love the Kelly Family! Maite's an amazing singer and I LOVE her beautifull voice! she's got great songs with amazing lyrics! and this really gives me goose flesh! they should've won!

This voting was such a fake!!! I tried to vote for them whole the time but I couldn´t get through the line. Then I tried the number for Corinna...and I got through! There had been something wrong with the telephonline. I heard the same story from a lot of fans a week later! Come on...they became fourth, after New Generation who were worse a thousand times! Anyway...Maite really sounds out of breath...Last time I watched it I didn´t recognise! But meanwhile she became a better singer in my eyes!

it´s not about money, it´s about giving the beloved neighbourland the 12 points. things like that make me sick. Eurovision should be forbidden because of that. its no longer about music...

song is realy nice but let's dont pretend that she is a good singer...her voice is original but she can't sing ....people love the band as a whole.they are unique and the only of their kind,natural and real.this is their power

you're right, she is not a great singer, but none of them is really. what makes this song so touching is it's authencity. there performance is honest, and she's performing it in such a emocional way that you believe in what she talks about.
