  • Frank Matthews From BROOKLYN via NC. Only black man involved with the french connection and still on the lam.

  • Lmao dude with the glasses on look like an old version of Uncle Luke

  • i am the American dream

  • "Back off to what?"

  • Notice that the old players' reputations were built from their relationships, particularly with their suppliers. This guy Frank Matthews was said to put the WS on the map, b/c he had a connect w/ Italian mafioso in NY. BUT, Prop Joe & the other ES hustlers got the west to come to them b/c they had a connect to the Greeks. Marlo had neither, only his reputation as a vicious gangster. His life was the game & that's why he lost. Even Prop Joe tried to get into his ear about working together...

  • @Propz74 Marlo 'losing' atthe end of the show is such an incredible instance of poetic justice. i didn't totally get it the first time i watched the series, i thought that the loss of his go-to enforcers and his connect with the greek was the show's way of delivering his retribution and its way of pointing to his inevitable demise. as you point out, his fall at the end of the show is of much greater magnitude. avon even beats him in this respect ,as avon retains his infamous character in prison

  • Read what it says on Omar's shirt.

    Gotta love The Wire.

  • yeah, i did.

Stringer/Avon & their crew were in it for the money, at any cost.

Same with Marlo. I didn't think Omar was like that. Interesting to see that Bunk & Omar went to the same H/School though. I wonder what happened to turn them in diff directions. Whatever happened, Omar still had a sense of responsibility for his actions & contributed to his community with his loot. It shows some semblance of decency. Yes, he was a murderer. But the wire is deeper than that.

  • @TheBigEase..Bunk already explained what happened..he explained it to Omar...he said the tough kids wouldn't let him hang out, and that was the point when he said he wasn't cut out for that crowd, remember?

  • he gave more "for his people" than he kept for himself. Omar is a classic case of good gone bad because of his desperation.

  • @TheBigEase Desperation? What desperation? Omar wasn't desperate. Good gone bad? Did you even watch The Wire?

  • man i could watch these clips all day. thanks loveydoveypeace.

  • @slimithy12

Agreed, I've probably given him/her ~1000 views by now. Thanks for the clips

  • Omar's line "back up to what" is a reference to THE WILD BUNCH a movie just as good a piece of cinema as THE WIRE is TV. Bodie Brodus (sp?) also quotes the Wiild Bunch in Season Five saying his new corner "is not like it used to be, but it will do." It's great to see how much Sam Peckinpah RIP is respected by the writers.

  • Lol. Omar's shirt says "I am the American Dream".

  • Its true, west Baltimore does have the best heroin.

But its far more dangerous going into west Baltimore if your white.

So you will see more white folks cop'n on the east side.

  • damn good eye brotha that is blue

  • Notice how Omar shrugs off Butchie's suggestion about backing off, since he now has such a large nest egg? That says to me that it wasn't about the money with Omar, it was about the thrill of the hunt.

  • Shut your fuckin mouth! I dont want to get physical for 4 munts now you open ya mouf dog

  • @GlitterMike It's all in the game and Omar just loves to play it.

  • all yall shut da fuccup before i get physical

  • Omars top = awesome

  • I wonder how much money omar got evey house he stuck up... ?

I wonder how much he gave butchie ?

  • I liked the relationship between Butchie and Omar, RIP

  • I do too. It's cool

  • Me too, they were tight and Butchie even died for him.

  • aww dat doggie was 2 cute =)

  • Yes he is, but don't make comments about something being "Cute" on The Wire, it ruins the clip 4 me

  • well then thats stupid how something that little can ruin something 4 u lol

& u act lyke ii saiid something real stupid lyke "that scene was oh so cute" or " thats cute how Omar stay getting money" ... then ii would understand how iit could ruin the clip 4 u =)

  • shut ya dumb ass up

  • mind ya fckin business

  • yo,ya'll see Blue from the corner with the glasses.

  • damn! good eye!

  • yup thats him

  • @ssscott8 what, you mean the real Blue? The guy who played Blue played a guy named Big Country I think...
