  • i dell so sorry for poor rick... he looks so disappointed

  • What a dumbass for getting ripped off like that. Lulz like someone would give up tickets to that show.

  • i fell like with so much hate, but at the same time i fell so sad,but i hope they will come back to make more much shows

  • Is this video means they'll be no more SP or they'll just stop live show ???

  • nowadays its just Billy Corgan + people playing smashing pumpkin songs xD

  • @remshadows true lol

  • 1:50 ..feeling a bit MELON COLLIE!!!! *rim shot*

that was sooo bad, he should be anally raped by a double edged samurai sword

  • 1000 dollars to see a band...i want his medication

  • common denominator - billy corgan

  • The Smashing Pumpkins, were Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, James Iha, and Darcy Wretzky. But so were Billy Corgan, James Iha, Darcy Wretzky and Kenny Aronoff. But so were Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, James Iha, and Melissa Auf Der Maur. But were Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, Jeff Schroeder, Ginger Pooley, and Lisa Harriton. But so is Billy Corgan, Jeff Schroeder, Nicole Fiorentino, and Mike Bryan.

  • I saw a band on MTV's World Stage last night that insisted on calling themselves "Smashing Pumpkins". Compared to this clip here, that was no Smashing Pumpkins. The drummer had chops, but none of Jimmy's power or feel. The guitarist was completely ignorable, and the bassist is . . . still a chick.

  • darcy ..iha and melissa didn't want to join back to the group re-union...damn...so whats the new meaning of smashing pumpkin?? just another gun and roses...but for sure, a die hard fan like me...still prefer the old Smashing Pumpkin band and songs....peace...HOPE billy come to his senses...

  • If you have a good thing going, keep it going. The Smashing Pumpkins really messed up. they are my second fav band, use to be first. I have to get back into them tho, which i will soon.

  • All the good bands, groups break up over either dumb sh** or drug use or some other problems.

  • OMG WHAT A DUMBASS!!!!

  • @TheF0etus Go hump yourself. Evrything I said was true. Billy pulled the same crap THE WHO did by advertising a 'last show' and then later 'contradicting' themselves and showing people they're liars by reforming.

Idiot. The reformation INVALIDATED the so called 'last show'. THAT stupid girl cried for nothing!!

  • they went like this so that they didnt have to go out like Brett Favre

  • Too bad since he reformed the band after this show this night isn't really history. so that guy that was talking about being a 'part of history' should feel like a tool. The girl crying over them shed tears for nothing as well.

It just another ended up another show. They all look like suckers now. Yeah they had a few decent sounds/songs but Radiohead was the far better band.

  • @TheConstruct He reformed the band but the smashing pumpkins really did end on that date. They have never been the same band since. That day was the ending of the The Smashing pumpkins as they were. The reformation is really another entity on its own just going by the same name, none of Billy's songs have sounded like old SP songs post break-up.

Also, a few good sounds/songs? They created the most popular album of the last two decades. They were by far the most successful band of the 90's.

  • @779flipingsweet No they were not the most successful. That title goes to Radiohead. And it did not end on that date because he toured after using the same name for the band. Bowie did it better. When he said It was the last show for the Spiders From Mars and Ziggy, that was it. period. Billy boy blew it.

  • @TheConstruct No The Smashing Pumpkins were the most successful. Radiohead was one of the top critically acclaimed and successful band of the 90's but in terms of album sales The Smashing Pumpkins could not be touched. MCIS is the top selling album since Pink Floyd's The Wall. 18 million copies sold just in the U.S. And that's just one album. I said it was the ending of the band as it was, the band has the same name but you would agree that's it not the same, right?

  • @779flipingsweet Radiohead still rules over them before and STILL to this day.

  • @TheConstruct lol radiohead were not any where near SP, I'm sure you like radiohead but that doesn't mean what you say is true, billy boy may have blew it, but where is tom yorke now? at least people are still talking about corgan, even if its for the wrong reasons ; )

  • @TheLydianRocks You're wrong. Yorke is still held in higher regard than Corgan. In fact Radiohead is releasing a new album this yr. Try again.

  • Hehe gotta love Billys man dresses.

Epic Band shame Darcy and James were not there wish I could of been there

  • 1000 doller for 2 tickets and fake fuckkkkkk

  • I wished I could have been there at the time. i was 19 and had been the biggest fan since age 13. Billy promised a DVD of that final show for years, and now that he's got the band back together, i doubt it'll ever see the light of day. GUH. probably the best show, too. i wish he let SP go... almost everything they've done since '07 has been shite, in my humble opinion.

  • i miss D'Arcy Wretzky =(

  • that should have been their last show

  • i feel bad for that guy

  • fucking pumpkinmani man

  • this is HOT! x0]

  • I dislike how the news video tried to show them as some metal band...

  • I just seen them last night.

  • @AWPPoductions talk about irony

  • This show was broadcast on channel of mexico, i recorded when i was 14 years.

And 8 or 9 years i saw the smashing pumpkins in guadalajara. Thank you Billy

    sorry for my inglish

    From: Silao Guanajauto, Mexico

  • I was 7 back then.

  • Hahahahahaha. Fucking douche bag got scalped! WAH!

  • bu<aaaahh...how it rocks so hard when he starts toplay that solo in the end! blast!

  • I was trying for a long time to get tickets to see these guys at their final concert. I was only 13 and a brand new pumpkins fan (I had already purchased 3 of their CDs within a year's time) - i heard they were breaking up and i about died... NOOOOOooooo

  • "what am I suppose to do"?? GET A LIFE!!! WORLD EVENT???

  • @benadam74 If you actually appreciated good music, you'd understand

  • @benadam74 Dude. They're so good.

  • That wasn't d-arsy retsky elysbeth brown!!!

  • smashing pumpkins might be the best sounding band I've ever heard live. right next to incubus of course

  • when the pumpkins STILL kicked ass.

What happened? Zietgiest was crap with or without darcy n james.

  • @777Lateralus

It was better than Machina 2 and at least half of Machina.. which got the same reception in it's day as Zeitgeist

  • Come back. Get together again! :')

  • Lindeman

  • I am Rick Lindema, YES: Joe let me in. He heard of what happened to me and he himself gave me a ticket.

  • I will probably always be there fans .

But for their fans they should have definitely toured

they had nothing to lose because people definitely would have bought tickets

I mean if an album was difficult to do as a band then how about saying to your fans this ones for you .

  • I wish I was there I was 5 . Sadly and on another continent.

I wish They could just tour . atleast .

  • i feel your pain. I was 8 when this gig happened. and on another continent. I was born in the wrong decade!! :( :(

  • @WestEndDream I was only 8 as well :( Wish i could of been there! Pumpkins are the best band of the 90's!!!

  • @WestEndDream Dude so was i!!! I hope they do that Gish thing where they'll play only Gish era songs and stuff for people who were too young to experience that amazing time period for the band

  • @thedayitriedtodie go suck a big fat hairy hard one

  • @thedayitriedtodie jk sort of

  • poor rick =[ SP<333

  • The truth is ...they dont have what it takes to keep being creative...

Few bands can keep on top and continue to be relevant...like U2.

  • stupido.

U2 and bono are the biggest sell outs ever.

and to put the pumpkins and U2 in the same sentence shows me ur idiocy.

  • U2? are you crazy?? U2 shoulda quit after Joshua tree and put "one" out as a single. They have been horrible ever since.

  • Wrong they definitely do have that creative part to it .

They just were wiped out .

    From everything .

It's like have 3 storms hitting you .

    and your still up .

and then a little wind goes and your down .

  • sorry but whats the song at the beginning?

  • a lot of tools in this video

  • calm down you crying assholes, they'll be back

  • i feel really bad about that dude

whoever did that was a piece of shit who doesnt deserve to live

  • aww poor rick

  • poor rick linderman....LOL he got RIPPED OFF!

  • Ah - poor guy - does anyone know if he got in?

  • who cares its was 9 yars ago, he looked like he was gonna cry though. chi-town is full of scum

  • Shut your filthy mouth!

  • what does it mean to feel "mellon collie"?

  • a gloomy state of mind, esp. when habitual or prolonged; depression.

  • sad.. about mellons

  • i thought is was upset...about collies. did lassie die?

  • it's another word for sadness.

  • Sad and depressed.

  • @footlesself99 it means sadness. and it's spelled "melancholy." the way SP used it was a little play on words.

  • Aw that really sucks for that one guy (lawsuit!) and the one girl. I wish I could've been there.

  • melissa auf der maur is so hot in this video!

  • didnt she od not to long ago

  • 0:50 hahahahaha

  • iha was there see the last seconds

  • i feel bad for the 1:00

    i wish i was there

i was 5 years old when that happened lol

lmao at 1:48 the security kills everything haha

  • lulz at the guy who got burned by the scalper.

  • lol

  • LOL

  • corgan & Iha side project

  • eww that's SICK

  • its zwan, and Iha wasn't there

  • ZWAN was billy and jimmy from the pumpkins. also the pumpkins have "reformed" it was just billy and jimmy but now jimmy left too. trust me I'd doubt that Corgan and Iha would ever do something again.

  • @1:16 - "They're just my entire life.....geheenk!"

    Now that's some comedy.

  • Hehe, awe bless...

  • lulz

  • @willbond you sir have made me lol my ass off :D

  • I hope they got their last live performance at the Metro on dvd. I got to see it in 2000 when i was 9 with my 18 yr old cousin at the time. Is their last live performance on dvd? i hope it is cuz every diehard pumpkin fan deserves to see the full thing.

  • Alas, the band that did Cherub Rock is no more. It's been replaced by a whining, fan-hating, sellout who looks a lot like Billy Corgan. Like it or not, the Smashing Pumpkins was the band that officially made alt rock emo. How's that working out for us?

  • This band is fucking great

  • @Henry21211-Yes,he did say that

  • wait at about 1:35 did he say 22 million albums?

  • sold, not made lol

  • LOL... they are back together now.

  • NO they arn't ....corgan and the drummer dude hired some posers to stand on stage next to them....big difference from a real reunion.

  • At 1:28 what the fuck does that girl throw at them?

  • A bouquet of flowers, i think.

  • wow this video is so sad! poor guy who got ripped off!

i am one is bad ass tho

  • Was sad, almost as sad as Kurt leaving us.

  • a band breaking up is as sad as a SUICIDE??!!!??!

HOW can you say a band quitting and disbanding is "AS SAD" as kurt commiting suicide....that is BY FAR the most callous and depressing thing I've EVER heard....

  • Looks like you haven't heard too many things.

  • issofunky, eat a dick.

  • I find it intriguing that you didn't ask if I was a guy or a chick before you told me to eat a dick.....says something about you.

thats aside...WHAT does your dick have to do with the smashing pumpkins?

  • I remember camping out at the united center trying to get tickets for this show. To bad I was only able to get into the arena one. In the morning you could see demolition balls knocking down the projects. Ahh I feel old.

  • i feel most of all sorry for that guy who got ripped off :( $1000!

    was this in 2000?

i was 6 if it was.

  • No i haven´t :( but i like it.

    I´m from spain.

Listen Landslide, another beautiful song :)

P.d=My english is very bad ¬¬

  • hahaha, other song: Appels + Oranjes

    Where are you from ??

  • I was also 7, thank god they came back.

I know if I would have been older and following them that whole time, that would have been one of the saddest nights..ever :(

  • Thanks schpadoinke83¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

    P.s=Listen bodies (love is suicide)

  • I was seven when this happened. Go Smashing Pumpkins.

  • What´s the song that appears at the end??

    Thans¡

  • i was only 5 or 6 :(

  • same. i think maybe i was 7 though..

    ps. i love switchfoot

  • the pumpkins wont ever be the same

  • True, but how the changed was a revalation. They came back, And Billy did what he knew was right. He loves thier music, but he does so much, he knows he must change the Pumpkins because he knows They will never be the same again.

  • couldnt agree more bro.

  • So, I'm a huge Pumpkins fan... Listen to them nearly non-stop, for about 15 years... But, I'm not gonna fucking cry over them breaking up. That girl didn't even look old enough to even have been around to enjoy their earlier, and I think better work.

While Corgan is a genius, nothing will be the original Pumpkins, Corgan, Iha, Chamberlin and D'Arcy. Nothing beats Ihas voice when he was allowed to have a song or two, love it. I will miss it. Now I'm getting sad, damnit! lol

  • Haha, it's okay dude, Billy said that the new guys are just temps anyway, despite Jeff saying he might contribute to the new album. Maybe (probably not though) James and D'arcy might come around.

  • Yeah, Iha said no, and D'Arcy hasn't talked to Billy in like 4 years. But, it will still never be the same even if they got back together. Very sad.

  • IMO the only thing left from the classic Pumpkins work is Jimmy's drumming (it's the only reason G.L.O.W is actually listenable.) Billy just seems like a self-indulgent, antagonistic, passionless egotist now, from what people have been saying about their recent shows. They were amazing for the first 3 albums though.

  • I loved everything up to and including Adore. Most people didn't like Adore, but I loved it. I didn't like when they went all electronic, I think that hurt them. I own 37 of their CDs, and I love all of them. I never listen to anything after Adore. Machina did nothing for me.

I will miss it all, I do miss it all.

  • FUCK! The video stopped right when it got to Billy's solo on I am One. FUCK!

  • $1000 spent and no tickets! Ouch :(

  • ugh.

    painful.

    poor dude.

  • Yeah, that was just really sad to watch, especially the expression on his face...

  • hhhahah that guy had no idea what he was talking about, "i think they're doing it for artistic reasons" lol!!

  • Fuck!! The most proper ending ever!! Billy playing and then at 2:24.009

    zoom out >>> dweeoop!!

Just like the band's [first] finale: it just happened.

P.S. I always liked the band.

  • poor guys who cant get in, i can imaggine how they feel, Smashing Pumpkins are my favourite band ever too!

  • yeah especially the guy he looked so bummed poor guy

  • I think I would go on a homicidal rampage if that ever happened.

  • gay! GAY! GHEY! Hum should reunite and blow up the stage.

  • THe pumpkins are BACK!! this was not the last show I going to see them on Nov 3./08

  • what the actual pumpkins.. no... just billy and chamberlin

  • other than an image and to satisfy the nastalgic feeling, billy and jimmy are really the only 2 pumpkins you need...just to be honest

  • nostalgic u mean... lol.. u could be right tho... maybe its the sadness inside of me longing for that idyllic fantasy of watching them toghether... pahaaa, naaa dont think so..... but jimmy and billy rock anyway s fuck it... they can be who they wanna be

  • cool im goin on dec 3

  • this is from a few years ago when they did break up

  • I'm one

  • what song is he playing? dosnt feel familiar.

  • Sounds Like I Am One from Gish

  • Yep, definatley I Am One.

  • hahhHAHAAH poor guy is immortalized crying on the sidewalk. how unfortunate (and hilarious@!)

  • wait...but my sister is going to a smashing pumpkins concert next week. ???? I'm confused???

  • this was 2000, this is 2008. and is that the charlettesville show

  • love em'.

    corgans an ass.

    ^but amazing.

  • AHAHAHA That guy got owned, he payed 2 G's for fake tickets!

  • i was only 4 =(

  • I was one of the first to get a ticket

  • wow i remember this this was realy big news in chicago, i never went to a pumpkins show, the only time i ever saw Billy Corgen sing ever was when he sung "take me out to the ball game" at Wriggle Field in game 7 of the NLCS thats the closest i ever got lol

  • lol, wriggle field =P

  • gnr4life23. why would they cry?!?!?!? have you ever heard this band? who wouldnt cry over them.

  • Why the fuck would you cry over that?

  • 0:40-0:44 - Ha! Wrong!

  • ;)

("comment is too short" bastard youtube).

  • So much for a 'last show', They're touring... minus James and Darcy or Melissa but still.

  • ...it was 8 years ago.

  • wow, the people they interviewed that were out on the sidewalk seem like such losers.

they should've interviewed cooler people to represent the smashing pumpkins fanbase.

like, that one girl with the crown looked like a total freak.

  • you poor stupid fuck... what are you, a 12 year old or just an ignorant fascist redneck?

you are a fucking loser just for saying something like that. represent the fanbase? you couldn't represent a dogshit on a pavement.

  • Wow what the fucks your problem

  • um... chances are the "cooler fanbase" as you put it was in the Metro watching the concert while these people were being interviewed.

  • 1000 bucks. To bad man.

  • pwn3d

  • so sad =(

  • Even though i didn't know them at the time

It's still sad to hear this :/

  • I think Billy and Jimmy made the right choice to quit for a while. Once the band begins to fracture, you really should take time off to re-asses your elements.

While of course I miss D'arcy and James and would love to have all four Pumpkins back again, Billy and Jimmy were the main brains behind most of their material anyway, so in some ways, we do have the band back.

  • sucks for that dude who bought the bogus tix...
