  • just letting you know.. your not actually "cracking" anything. your stretching the pouch of synovial fluid that surrounds your knuckles which releases a bubble of carbon dioxide that pops causing the cracking sound effect. there is no real damage is done by this. you shouldn't express your options about your psychological quandaries as physiological facts.

  • haha. Crack kills! :P

  • What if I stretch my fingers? Because for about a year or two, when I stretch my fingers they crack.

I'll definitely stop if a negative outcome is a possibility.

Also before you stretch make sure you warm up first, especially in the morning.

  • @IWantMyVisionBack no need to worry about it if it happens naturally, as far as stretching fingers idk what to even do for that, mine crack now and then on their own its no big deal

  • i never crack my knuckles :)

  • It has been proven that cracking your knuckles has no long term effects at all.

  • @mewdox dont mind me, experience and whatnot.

  • @bobsamurai don't mind doctors, years of medical training and whatnot.

  • @bobsamurai Thanks man about shareing your experience! I have the same problem I will try to stop do it because I really feel that it makes me weaker. although there are oponion that there isn't any harm I really doubt that. In past I have been stoped for week or two and I really felt better. my joints felt much stronger.

  • yeah i had to tone down the knuckle cracking yeah always stretch it makes everything looser

  • i heard thats its air tension in your knuckle sockets that you relieve, however overdoing it can harm you

  • Once I lifted my hand from my mouse, my fingers cracked.

    Wat do.

  • I crack my knuckles and I play guitar and only notice lately im hands are getting more stiff, and I just seen this

  • I never did the cracking thing, heard pretty early that this wasn't as healthy and I really dont see the point of cracking them.

  • Didnt mean to get defensive Im just tired of what people say about a doctor (the ethical ones) when its stressful enough for them. I cant count how many times my dad got calls (when not on call) at 1am to help a patient not because he has to but wants to help others. I understand others are frustrated but think of the stress a doctor or even a nurse that has dealing with people who want a quick easy answer and not pay a damn cent for their meds. I see things from the inside out. Sorry ranting..

  • @AngelBug109 its fine, you should see the doctors around here, i just spent $300 to get looked at and the person literally left the room 3 times while i was in the middle of talking to talk to another doctor about a cookout they are having. im not saying that doctors are bad or anything, but if theirs a problem with the system i have to point it out, im sure im not the only one dealing with similar issues

  • @bobsamurai yea I have phyzer which helps me with my seizure meds some and when I am a cna I will get health insurance. Im a single mom so its a struggle for sure when the ex does lil to nothing hopping through loopholes in law. Hope things get easier for you in the dr world :)

  • Also I agree fully with you pointing out the flaws of the system. That is what I hate seeing is the unethical person not doing their profession right. Seriously they study what 8 or 9 years to do something and they get lazy or do things quickly. Its ridiculous, and this isnt just some doctors, its in any career. But I agree

  • But as a doctor's daughter (btw that hard breathing chest issue was a very small heart palpitation). My father is a Family Practice and honestly it hes not 'a screener'. If a doctors a screener, why the need for years of education just to screen thats a nurse or nurses aide's job. The doctor isnt perfect (as none of us truly are) but he or she will do their best to figure things out with the knowlege given. And with so many types of chronic pain a doctor forever is learning.

  • Omg this is me....THANK YOU for the video :)

  • Not cracking them will cause insanity :P

  • I crack my a few of my toes and all the joints in my fingers many times a day. The rest of my joints just kinda crack on their own when I'm stretching. I really should stop crackin' my fingers but it's hard to get out of the habit. :P

  • I crack my knuckles all the time. I didn't think it would affect me because I've almost never really experiences side effects. When I do it's few and far between. But yeah it's a bad habit, you've convinced me to be more conscious about it and cut it out.

  • I used to crack my toes after waking up and before going to bed, I sort of have this condition whenever I start jogging, it starts to hurt in my toes and reaches all the way to my ankles in long exercise. For me it has been less than 10 years and I get this pain time to time. It really does suck, and make you wish that you never started it. Though I think neck is even tougher quit since it's just instinctual and happens when your not aware of it and that makes it really hard to stop.

  • I crack my knuckles and my thumbs at least 20 times a day. I do my toes before bed also. Thus far I have had no issues, but I am also well aware it can be damaging in some people, but not all. I have been cracking my knuckles for at least thirty years, maybe more.

  • I try not to pay attention to this lol, I used to stress it as a kid but as a young adult, I couldn't really care less if my fingers are useless by 2050. If it happens...it'll just happen. Of course, I plan on staying fairly healthy on the course of my life.

  • Cracking your knuckles doesn't really cause problems in your knuckles, since it's just air in your knuckles, and when you crack them, the air releases.

I don't know about other parts of the body though.

  • @MasterKingJC4ever its still fluid moving, fluid moving over boulders through time can reduce them to pebbles, we are subject to wear and tear just as everything else, its better to let things do as they will than to force it

  • @bobsamurai Yeah, that's a good point, Bob.

  • omfg...i do it all the time...like every friggen day multiple times a day...pretty much everywhere...and i cant stop fuck im screwed

the main one is my neck though

  • @OzakiRain for me it took a while to stop, id say gradually decrease the amount

  • i only crack my fngers very few times

  • I crack my neck and my fingers a few times a day. is it that damaging if i just do it a few times a day?

  • @CodeProvider thats about how much i used to do it, id say stop, you'll feel better in the long run

  • @bobsamurai any tips on how to stop the neck thing? right now i cant because its stiff, and when i crack it it helps me sleep :/
