Even in Louisiana, the Caucasian population trumps the African American population, and people will usually buy the most familiar looking dolls for their children. It's no surprise that black dolls sell less. Meanwhile, I work at a predominantly Haitian preschool, and the majority of the dolls at that preschool are dark-skinned. As for the sale... definitely tasteless, but not racist. It's more the juxtaposition of the dolls that has people upset.

I remember going to Toy R Us when I was like 5 or 6 & they didn't have any black dolls. I told my mom I wanted the white doll. She looked at me with the most disgusted look. I didn't understand it then but after watchin clips from the '90s. & I wasnt the only black girl wanting a white doll. It wasn't that I though the white doll was pretty, I just didn't see color & just wanted to play. Adults need to let kids be kids & stop worrying about POINTLESS things.
