  • Oh, you are just soo great! I'm glad to see that someone else is as excited as I am about our itty bitty little balcony garden!

  • Oh you are such a sweety!

  • @flupmakintosh even if he did that it would not weigh more than a human body thats deffinately not a danger

  • use window boxes and hangers and put it over the edge, inside AND outside, that will drasticly increase your gardening space that you can enjoy more. put the clematis or vine closer to the building and offer string or a trellis for it, giving you more space for something else in the outer corner. use pots on the floor ( could even make custom wooden ones with old veggie crates and plastic eg) on your two sides-. i simply adore balony gardens and gardening in small places. GOOD LUCK!

  • @poosaypirate These are all such good ideas. Thank you! You must have a vibrant and beautiful balcony garden :-)

  • great video...Thanks for sharing...I think you should make another video showing us how's your garden now....i bet its growing and its looking great...I just move to a new apartment and the reason i love this apartment is because of the balcony its biger...Now I can start my balcony garden...not alot of people have that and I also love plants.....

  • I love the internet. Here I am in Michigan (USA), wanting to grow some vegetables and flowers on my apartment balcony this summer, and getting ideas from a guy in England.

  • Isn't it amazing? Good luck with your garden. My tomato plants have got as far as showing flowers which I'm thinking will one day be real life tomatoes :-)

  • Wow. A wormery? I would love to do something like that. Must look into it. I'm a new patio gardener and am looking for ways to organically fertilize my veggies.

  • It's a little weird because it's on the balcony. I haven't got any compost yet but there's a tap at the bottom where you can pour out liquid (fertilizer?) which is good to mix with water and use for watering plants and veggies etc. Good luck with your patio garden :-)

  • You may be interested in AeroGarden and grow in your home all sorts of herbs. They sell them here in the states at Bed Bath and Beyond. Or just google it. I love your cute garden!

  • Thank you and thanks for the tip! I'll google it :-)

  • great!

  • great!

  • way to make the most of what little space you have! who says people living in urban areas can't have a bit of the good stuff? :)

  • Absolutely! My organic seeds have been delivered now so one of this weekend's projects will be to plant them!

  • I am making my own little garden too. Last year I had an enormous tomato plant, mint, and basil. This year I have several herbs and veggies. :) I'm so excited! There is nothing better on this earth than eating food you grew yourself. A close second is foraging and coming upon a secret berry bush or some other wild, free food.

  • VERY inspiring, thanks!

  • Why thank you :-) I really can't wait for everything to arrive so that I can get planting! Just a few days ago winter felt as though it was never ending and now it feels that spring is more or less here and my balcony plans are as much a part of that as a small change in the temperature :-)

  • Very very cool my friend! Brilliant! I'm always inspired by our nature to make something grow wherever we can. Good luck look forward to more vids on this!

  • Thank you :-) I'm looking forward to getting started and watching it grow. I'll definitely post more vids about this if it DOES grow. And why wouldn't it? Nature is Amazing! How is your garden growing?

  • Ok, that's it. You should just open your own website so you can start selling all of these wonderful gadgets and gizmos you tell us about! You're proof that even if you have a very small balcony space, you can take advantage of it and get a great deal of use out of it! And that would give me a heart-attack if I saw my cat jump up on that rail! I'd be afraid the car park below would be a cat park! Keep us up on the progress of your garden! At least you don't have to travel far to get to it!

  • Thanks Keith, you are very kind to say all of this! I'm hoping that your cat would have more sense than our cat. After all, it's only one of ours who has done it - so far ... They're lovely creatures but on present evidence, not very intelligent! I'm particularly looking forward to seeing the nasturtiums. They used to grow in my parents' garden in Australia when I was a child and I've always loved the way they grow with such reckless abandon and beauty :-)
