  • EXCELLENT!

  • you are very brave!

  • You can't touch the insertion site with your finger. You can cause infection.

  • ur good but pls next time wear a gloves and dont apply pressure when ur pulling the cath because the plastic tip may losen and remain on your vein.

  • Sourcow- that iv draws the needle back as you advance the cath. It is a safety iv catheter that click you heard was the part where the whole needle was safely in the plastic as the cath was in the vein

  • Has anybody else heard of going in at a 45? I have always been told to go in flat or as flat as possible. This person also wants to be unhygienic.

  • I guess you're too stupid to use gloves..or your partner to use gloves..too stupid to run your finger over the site you just uses an alcohol pad on..I wouldn't wanna be your patient..but then again..it was on yourself..

  • @NavCorps1 really you have to call her stupid tho? i love how people get bold behind the computer screen. there is really NO NEED to be disrespectful. you could have said the same exact thing much nicer. but maybe you were having a bad day.

  • just a thought... after youve rubbed the site like 2 or 3 times with an ungloved hand... it is no longer clean... good thing you were doing it on yourself tho...

  • do you advance the catheter simultaneously as you pull out the needle? or can u advance the catheter, then pull out the needle? Any information would be appreciated. & thanks for this video.

  • @sourcow56 You can advance the cath and pull back on the needle or just do one at at time. What ever you feel more comfortable with.

  • @rg2001mm nurses has to practice each other??

  • @hjestrella yeah.. basically we have before we can do it on patients.. tomorrow would have to be my first time. hopefully my partner could get it in 1 shot.. *nervous*

  • o.O why do you do this to your self...ahhhh!!!!!!

  • @DreamImagineCreate Because the only way to know what you'll be doing to others is to do it on your self! Plus doing it right on me gave me enough confidence to do it right on other people!

  • @rg2001mm I think at my nursing school they will never let us try to ourselves :(
