In Taiwan, they would also play cute ice cream truck songs whenever the dump truck was passing by the street. You aren't allowed to leave your garbage on the street for the dump truck to pick up like in America. So they basically play the music and you have to run out of your apartment with your trash before they leave. I always feel bad for these people doing the trash routes they are probably sick of these stupid songs that are on loop all day.

WOW i cant believe this, I went to Japan in April for a home stay and i was making my way back to my hotel and found out that i hadn't booked for the night and i'd ran out of money so i went down to Osaka station to see if i could sleep somewhere, I was really scared and worried about how i would get home at this point. Then that dude came strolling past playing it's a small world after all :) after that i stopped freaking out and enjoyed the rest of my trip.

I stayed awake on the street all night till my flight left the following night. It was actually pretty cool, i got to see the night life of Osaka, but it was damn cold. Best part about staying out that night though was when i saw a sign that said Osaka Hospital up ahead, and when i finally got there instead of a Hospital sign there was the sign "THE OSAKA POKEMON CENTRE". BRILLIANT i thought.

"It's A Small World" from a garbage bin....perhaps as a subliminal recycling message? If I remember correctly from my time in Japan, you have to separate the recyclables to the most minuscule degree. Glass bottles sorted by color, likewise plastic (except by material code as well), labels must be removed, different items taken to different locations on different days of the week, etc...

Maybe that wasn't for all of Japan, just Fussa.
