@snipersas Pop music is fun, though. Gloss Drop was about fun. Ice Cream is still a really fucking complex song, the vocal melody/lyrics are staggeringly confusing, but the only difference is that it's fucking fun to dance to.

Here's the part I don't understand. I'm baffled as to how you could dislike the other 11 songs so much, they really aren't that different from Mirrored. More synth drenched and brighter sounding, maybe, but definitely not dumbed down.

@FlyingFuckstorm like i said, much mirrored wasn't exactly great either. gloss drop has very little dynamic and the parts that do build don't have as much going on as some of the climactic moments of mirrored. ice cream is a good pop song and i like it, the rest of the album is just boring and fails as both pop and whatever else you want to say the music is

they were, man. i liked Don Cab (well, mostly just "American Don" and "What Burns...") and really like Battles, but Storm & Stress kinda feels like the only band in which Ian got to be Ian and Kevin got to be Kevin without limitations.
