  • at the beginning of the song who does she say dances the lombada, I can't understand?????????

кто она сказа́ла танцу́ет ламбадy в начале песни????

  • great song by the way 10/5 awesome!1

  • she said "Lohi tantsuyut lombadu, a mi tantsuyem chitu dritu"

  • You do realize.. that thats a dude yeah? so you mean HE

  • Да ты пгаь (Yes, you're right)

I'll warrant that AutocratorImperator (thumb up to him btw) is fully cognizant of that fact, but we are refering to the his Character, Verka. It makes it harder to suspend our disbelief if we just call Verka a he, don't you think so?

  • "(thumbs up to him btw)", I mean HER. My apologies, good lady :)

  • Comment removed

  • yes, i know it's a dude. i meant, she b/c his character -- Verka, is a female persona...

  • Лохи танцуют ламбаду

  • Lohi :)))

  • This is name of the song from 1978 Soviet film Mimino"" starring Vakhtang Kikabidze

  • "Чита Дрита" is a nonsense it comes from italian words CITTà (city) DRITTA (straight) they prononce with only one T cause in russian they dont have this kind of double letter pronunciation, so the correct english translation is "straight city" but I told you is just a nonsense cause in Ukraine and in Russia they like a lot Italian's sound like.

  • Great!

    Greetings from Denmark!

  • I am going to Denmark this summer.

  • What a brilliant tune so happy and bouncy :) you just can't help feel happy listening to this song...

you don't need to understand words to enjoy good music, this mkaes me happy :)

  • Live for the present and use the past as a source of laughter! It is too sad to contemplate what can not be changed.

  • Čo znamená LACH?Počul som to veľa razý ,ale neviem,čo to je.

  • Lach to je Polak brzo pejoratyvne

  • @tatrantrollSK

    "LOCH" = looser

  • ukranian singer singing in russian and making reference to georgian-soviet film from our common soviet past - THIS is our post-soviet common culture!... ukranians, georgians, russians, there is no sense to deny each other & to make war, we grew up together, lets live in peace together! :)

  • You're so right. Noone will ever separate us as how do you live wothout a hand or foot?

  • Well said! I agree with you! If it were so there would be less wars.

  • @SalsaMyamor i wish there where more ppl saw it this way :(

  • @SalsaMyamor

Ukraine cannot make peace with Russia. Russia is too violent and abusive towards Ukraine. This has been going on for a VERY long time. Russia will probably show Ukraine no respect... ever.

  • @Vovk3 wah ukraine nd russia nd belarus r same blood they just tend to forget that

  • @vixvis

Absolutely not. Russians are Finnics from the Northern forests, Belarussians are a mix of various Slavic tribes, and Ukraine is a mix of Slavic, Tatar, Germanic, and other tribes.

To say they are all fo the same blood is extremely ignorant.

  • @Vovk3 lol ur ignorant lolololol u realise russia came from ukraine, nd belarus came to be after russians counquered part of polish land, do u even know what ukraine used to be called? malorusia or little russia, do u even know what the name ukraine literally translates to? outlying district of russia, so u can go nd stick ur nationalism straight up ur ass, jesus u dnt even know ur own history

  • @vixvis

I know my own history very well. Little Russia was a name given to us by mostly Russians. Ruthenia was the name we have had for longer than that. Ukraine is a bad name. I only use it because that's what everyone else calls it. Besides that, I refer to specific ethnic groups in the country.

You make such awful claims, yet you have barely even heard me speak.

Do you know why your country is called Russia? You probably don't.

  • @Vovk3 lol man my country aint russia, i was born in ukraine in lutsk, nd got my education in kremenchug, my father is russian tho, idk about u but i think that makes me pretty ukrainian, look im not arguing with u im just telling u what ukraine taught me in their school.

  • @vixvis

Fine, then we will end this argument. I guess I assumed wrong about your origin.

    Good day, Sir.

  • @SalsaMyamor

the TRUENESS summped up in a few words !

    Verkaaa ♥

  • @SalsaMyamor Молодець

  • ok, more exactly it would be "chito gvrito, chito margalito da" :D, which would mean "little bird, a bird as a pearl" in georgian... to have original song & lyrics type "чито гврито" (dolceforniento channel for ex)

  • "chita drita" is originally from russian/georgian-soviet film "Mimino" where they dance on singing "chita, drita, chita margarita, ooh!... " :-) Maybe it means somenthing in georgian... :)

  • Zajebis ble

  • обожаю Верку.... Данилко самый присамый!!!!!

  • i...

    i dont understand

  • Great!

  • Actually Ukrainians speak Russian with pleasure 'cause for almost a half of population it's mother language.

  • ne pezdi

  • Make good money where? On Moscow construction? As floorsweeper?

  • Chita Drita is a dance, and this song is sung in russian but Verka is ukranian

  • nu i xuli?!...

  • this is in Ukraine

  • Pisadaboli this is russain no Ukraine. I know russain and Ukraine

  • russian, my boyfriend translated it. its like can they dance and its fun to dance. i forget what he said exactly but i know its that general idea. i can ask him again if u guys want.

  • Drita is veri popular ALBANIAN girl name - so I think Chita Drita means Drita Reads I wonder if Drita Can Dance? I know Verka does!

  • Ilirida2007, "chita-drita" is like "tra-la-la", "hop-la" etc to describe vigorous dance

  • We used their music at our absurdist coffee house for english! GREATT STUFFF!!!!!!!!

  • One more comment. The music is so great and the video is a lot of fun, too!! Those of us in America would never have this treat were it not for your posting it on YouTube;-)

  • So please is this sung in Georgian or Ukrainian/Russian?

  • Russian.....no one can do so perfect like Russians.

  • Ukrainian

  • Лохи танцьують ламбаду а ми чіту! дріту!

  • Chita Drita means Drita Reads!

  • sounds a bit like the 'hop hop hop' song

  • stupendo!

  • stupendo!

  • lachi tanzujut lambadu a mi tanzujem chitu dritu xD oj ja lüblü verku xD

  • Drita is a name in albanian (Afrodita)

  • God!!!! Chita-grita means bird-bird little bird on Georgian language

Птичка-птичка,птичка -невеличка см. фильм Мимино там эта песня звучит и перевод дается, когда армямнский герой Рубик-джан спрашивает грузинского героя Мимино "А что значит чита-грита?"

  • it's not chita-grita, but chita-drita!

  • in georgian it's not chita-grita (its the way how russians they spell it) in georgian it's chito-gvrito

  • it sounds like they're talking about Lambada (brazilian dance) at the opening.

  • Yes. Verka say "loosers will dance lambada and we will dance chita - drita"

  • :D are you from Ukraine? Do you want to be my friend? I have a lot of questions about her songs... :)

  • I'm from Russia but Verka sing half of her songs on Russian. there is no real language barrier between Russian and Ukrainian, so Russians can understand most of Ukrainian words. In some songs she mix up Ukrainian and Russian.

  • Hello! I am ukrainian and I"d like to be your friend! My name is Tamara

  • im ukrainian too! My name is Khrystyna!

  • Hi!! I'm from Mexico, and I really enjoy Verka's music, altough I can't understand her hehe. I'd like to be your friend too. In this globalized world.... I think we should have globalized friends hehe. VIVA VERKA!! Greetings

  • yo tambien soy de mexico, me gusta mucho verka, es una lastima que no ganara el eurovision.

  • ia a encontre en ares

    de igual manera graxs!!!

  • Can you be my friend, too?

  • zajebiszcze:D

  • Chita drita has nothing to do with reading. I think it's simply something like 'diddle-diddle-de'. There's also a Georgian song Chito grito... maybe, I'm not sure

  • KLÖÖÖWA !!!!!

  • taaaaak shto rebjata, mozhet eshe kto-to znaet tochnee shto takoe chita drita? eto shto, russkij tanec, ili eto verka pridumala?

    a vashe verka serdjchkaprosta klass!!!!!!!

    kak ee ne obozhat'?????!

  • this is a fuckin funny clip!! love it so much!

the language is actually russian. i don't know exactly what is "chita drita", but she sings: "let's dance together the chita drita" - what shows that "chita drita" is a dance.. but it could be a freely invented expression.

so it has evidently nothing to do with "reading" (yeah, it sounds similar, but "reading" in russian would be "chitat'".), as someone wrote.

    hope i could help u....

  • fuckin awesome!!!eurovision winner??

  • Verka singing "Chita Drita" (if someone knows the meaning please write it down)

--I think "chita" in Slavic means "read" and Drita is a Albanian girl name which is short for Afrodrita!

Drita in Albanian means "light" and Afrodrita in Albanian means "the Morning is near"

  • haroschaja pesna

  • lmao! this is so funny, lyrics are hilarious

  • May be it's a gird at school's chaff ???

  • I dont think it's one of his songs

  • klass
