Sounds like a sensible way to do things to me. It's not as if everyone lives within easy reach of a sailing spot. It's not as if the wind blows nicely every day you're free to sail. It's not as if the critical heroes here honestly sail every Atlantic Winter Storm that comes their way, either. Plenty of situations I can see where it's at least better than nothing, eh?

The lengths people go to to have a surf. this video should carry a warning !!! Lets see you on the water jumping whilst tacking. Very useful for people getting into our sport but not everyone has a bath the size of yours at home...
